Braun 9280CC (Blue/Black, Charge Station)

Over the last 40 years I have owned probably 4 or 5 Braun Shavers. I traded up to the Series 9 about 3 years ago. Shave was good to start with, but then the problems started. The shaving dust / hair falls out of the shaving head whilst shaving, leaving a mess on your shirt. I have not previously experienced this with other models. Used shaver daily for over a year. It does an okay job. I have used much cheaper shavers and gotten the same results.

It is ok to travel with if you have the space due to its large size and weight and large charge brick. This can be a problem to plug into some outlets if there isn't enough space.

Unfortunately for me, mine failed after a year and no longer holds a charge. Dealing with the service/warranty side of things hasn't been that great either.

Purchased this Braun Series 9 shaver after doing a lot of research. I am extremely disappointed with the shaver's performance especially considering the high purchase price. It is particularly bad under my chin and throat and I have to complete my shave with a disposable razor to get a close shave. The manual recommends that you use the clean and charge station after every third shave but the retailer I purchased this from warned that if I do this the blades will wear out quickly and I will be up for costly new blades every eighteen months. The shaver misses so many hairs that I need to complete a shave with a disposable razor to complete the job. For a product that costs this much I would expect much better. I missed the window to return this as I kept trying to get a better shave out of it. My advice would be to try it out but if you have any doubts send it back straight away

I purchased the Braun Series 5 as an experiment as I wasn't entirely happy with my previous shaver. The series 5 was so much better than my previous shavers so I decided to upgrade to the series 9. The Series 9 has proved to give an even more comfortable shave and I am very happy with it . It doesn't look as flash as some other brands but in my opinion it out performs them. Had it for 3 months, It works well for sensitive skin, battery life is also very good But when cleaning the head with brush the head fell 4-6 inches into a basin and cracked and warranty doesn't cover that. An expensive lesson at $75 replacement cost

Pretty disappointed with the shave this Braun model gave, my old Phillips sensotouch rotary does a better job,

The fact I have to finish the shave off on my neck with a manual razor annoys, it does my cheeks well, but horrible with shaving my neck,

I originally went into shavershop wanting a DE blade razor and the assistant blew smoke up the butt of the Braun 9 series and the discount paired with the 60 day return policy if not satisfied,

Well, all I can say is this razor will be going back

I have had this shaver a month now and so far it has been great. You get a very close shave i found especially using the gel. I also bought the cans of lubricant they suggest and every couple of shaves just use this without the gel and still shaves nice and close. Hoping the blades will last longer that some reported on here so trying to look after them a little and shall edit how they go in the future. Great Shaver, especially for travelling.

Purchased one of these back in Jan 2017 after using a Panasonic for 6 years. Changed over after believing all the hype. I bought this shaver its the 3rd electric shave I have had. First was a Phillips style shaver which worked well especially for trimming beard length and edges and I still use for that but the foil wasn't the best. I bought a Panasonic Wet/Dry later which worked really well as a foil shaver but ended up eventually losing the charger. Chargers cost over $100 to buy. Finally have ventured away from Phillips for the first time in my life. Purchase the item and it seems to be working well. This was bought off EBAY from Hong Kong so the item arrived without the cleaning cartridge as it has alcohol based liquid so according tot he seller it cannot be shipped overseas. Yet they have to ship these items globally after manufacturing. Hmmmm am i being taken for a ride here. I also see that the EBAY seller is also selling these cartridges online so they take my one out and than sell it again - awesome business model...

Over the years I have used Phillips rotary, Panasonic 5 blade, earlier series Braun, have suffered periodic skin rashes and variable shave quality. This Braun is absolutely the best I have used, no rashes and consistent shaves. The closenesss of shave is better than any of the previous brands and models. It also seems, and it could be illusionary, but the shave seems to last longer. It seems like the 5 o'clock shadow comes in in later in the day.
