i will write my own answer seeing I ended up finding the problem myself. I ask a question about a problem and I get a phone number to ring at steely international. It was a faulty control box.

But replacing the spare parts of $600ish only after 5 years and a few months is sucks as when you count you only use it for 3-4 months in a year its mean this model only lasted 20 months! While my previous Breezair that i installed in 1987 lasted me 25 years

There are several sellers in the Denver area. I would not recommend a Breezair but if you must I would call Metro Heating and Cooling.

Hi there, I am after some info on the main differences between a Brivis and a Coolair evaporative system. Which was is the best for price,, efficiency and durability?

Sorry dont know much about Brivis but in terms of efficiency, quietness not price, the Breezeair is good. The blower fan designed is good however the motor (brushless type) durability and reliability is questionable. Many failures and a very expensive item to replace. So stay away from this product unless you can afford to upkeep this " Rolls Royce". Would suggest a reverse cycle air-con, as more cost effective and beneficial in the long term. You are able to use it all year round. Hope infor is useful.

I can't vouch for the Coolair, but our Breezair EZH215 died after 6.5 years. Too expensive to repair ($1650) so will replace with complete new unit. Seeley Internationals service department were unwilling to help us unless we spent more money to get their service technicians out to inspect the unit. In my opinion, steer clear of any of their products!

We are looking at replacing our brivis with breezair EXH210 have been told we have to replace all ducting and vents due to new unit needing smaller ducting true or false?

False. You are being ripped off. Unless your ducting is in very poor condition - it should be re-usable.

what's the life expectancy of the Breezair fan motor? Why it's so expensive to replace it? Mind you an exhaust fan is only $20 and lasts years and years?

Hi Fay,
I was advised the motor could last up to 20 yrs, however would need close monitoring after 10 yrs.
In saying that, ours starting playing up after 2.5 years and needed to be completely replaced after 3, not to mention the consistent other faults since installation as well.
I'm not sure exactly how much the motor would cost to replace as ours was covered under the 5yr warranty, however I was told it could be anywhere from $500 and up.
We are now looking at purchasing a refrigerated system as we are sick and tired of this awful product!

What I found out from Seeley International (Breezair's manufacturer) is that the actual motor is $470, plus GST, total $517. But you'll have to pay for the companies that service the product, and their sub contractors. In my case, it's $200 coming in to do the partial service, and identify the problem. Then $800 to replace the motor (motor included). When you get it installed, they only tell you the low ongoing running cost, no one tells you about the ongoing maintenance cost, which is $180, if you're lucky, every second year. Refrigerated is good in the long run, but the power capacity must be right for the size of the house. My old unit was too weak for the house, it was doing nothing.f

6.5 Years. Our Breezair EZH215 motor died, along with the electric control board. Was quoted by Seeley Internationals Vic Service Manager $1650 to replace parts. Parts come with 12 month warranty only. Better to replace unit with something that will go the distance and steer well clear of Breezair.
