Good solid cheap drip coffee machine
Happy with this machine
Good drip coffee. Tastes fine. I like the auto time set - we set it in the evening for hot coffee in the morning. Very easy to clean and use. Can make a large amount of coffee from 3 tablespoons of ground beans.
One thing I worry about is the flimsy plastic lid. It'd be easy to break this i future - so I'm careful with this.
Great value - paid $64

Disappoints
This new model is difficult to use. Filling the water jug is difficult due to the small awkwardly placed opening. As well as this when the lid is open water drips out from the condensation under the lid. After many years of using Breville machines I am now looking elsewhere.

FINALLY! A SIMPLE GOOD MACHINE
Some years ago on Xmas Eve I was in a Harvey Norman store. I had already ordered from a manufacturing jeweller a set of expensive diamond ear rings for the love of my life for Xmas but passing through the coffee machine area...a mental flash...she loves coffee!! And so I bought her the wiz bang true coffee brewing all you want machine!
Xmas day she loved me even more and yes!! She preferred the coffee machine to the diamond ear rings. A year or so later I was sick of all the work for her morning coffee and bought a capsule thing that was ok bu...Read more

Use this every day!!
Easy to use and makes a great "american style" coffee. Warmer keeps coffee hot for 1.5 hours - we always have a pot on the go. Chose the Breville over the Sunbeam as the Breville has a metal filter rather than a plastic one. We always use a paper filter to cut down on the cleaning.

Great
No problems so far.
Easy to use and clean. Love waking up to brewed coffee in the morning when I set the timer.
I used to use a plunger but that was messy and this is just a quick and easy way to get decent coffee.
It's not barista quality but I like the convenience.

Really Like this Breville
Yes, only bought it yesterday, but this morning's coffee was wonderful.
I had already rejected all the espresso and pod machines, and the fully automatics, and milk frothers and the rest of the kit and kaboodle, because as a diabetic, I need to have coffee which is not 80% milk (because of the sugar content of the milk, I use pure cream instead).
I already had my favourite coffee (Lavazza Torino Qualita Oro) and its not available in pods anyway, so I had been using a one cup sit on top of mug gadget which came with a Harris coffee tin,...Read more
*years* ago. I never could be fussed doing it 2-3 times (a bit like not wanting to fuss with group heads on espresso machines) and wanted something that would give me a) the number of cups/mugs I wanted and b) give it to me at the temperature and taste I wanted. This machine does exactly that. I had bought cheap machines in the past (still have three) which simply dont do the job. Looks like they will be going to the Salvos. I noted the comment by another reviewer about the awkwardness of filling the water tank... It certainly is very awkward, far too narrow, way at the back of the machine. And yes, its way too tall for my cupboards, but I guess leaving it on the bench in an area I don't normally use for anything else is not too much of a hardship.Similar opinion? Great drip filter coffee machine.
Easy to use, except that the water tank is in an awkward position to fill. Unfortunately, it is a bit too tall to fit in my cupboard, so it has to sit on my bench, which is okay. I have a Breville drip filter machine which I bought in the 80's and still works except that the plastic filter holder is crumbling. Breville do make a good product. I love drip filter coffee and am so over all the pod machines.

Great coffee machine, great price!
After reading reviews on this machine, I decided to buy from Myer, which had a sale on this particular one. I can happily say, it does the job right. It only takes 10 minutes to brew hot coffee, at a perfect temperature. I didn't even know it could brew tea (which I tried as well) it tastes great! Cleaning is a breeze! The only two downfalls on the product are the lid for both the carafe and lid for the machine feel very cheap. Water tends to leak from the back of the machine if water is overflowed from the excess steam, but that doesn't surprise me.

Breville Aroma Style coffee
Makes the best coffee according to our taste, with Vittoria Espresso ground coffee. It works quiet and quick. Makes 12 cups at a time and is wonderful for family and visitors. Can be programmed and it cleans easy, just rinse well with water and quick wash with dishwashing liquid, and you are ready to make more coffee.

Good coffee machine
It works, it does the job. It makes the coffee hot, keeps it hot. People just love to whine these days and expect diamonds for the price of silver.
I have used pod machines, i have used manual coffee makers, i have used plungers and what not. This one has been the simplest and decent option for a cup of coffee.

Stop whining!
OK, so I've read every single review of this product here. It feels cheap and plasticky, and the plastic cover supposedly breaks easily. The water chamber is in a hard-to-reach location and spills when overfilled. The water indicator is hard to read. The hot plate turns off after two hours. Never mind that coffee that's been sitting on a hot plate for two hours is burnt and bitter and no coffee snob would drink it, but hey it's a free country.
Before I got this coffee machine, I had a drip coffee machine that didn't have any of those problem...Read more
s - the Breville YouBrew, a beautiful looking machine made of high quality materials. The water tank was at the front of the machine, and it was set into a tray so it never spilled. There was a (backlit!) LCD indicator for the tank and the rest of the controls, and when the tank got full it warned you with a timely beep, and a little plastic sign would pop up from the chamber to warn you as well. It came with a thermal carafe, so you could keep your coffee warm for half a day if you wanted to drink bitter filth. It had an integrated grinder, so all you needed to do was fill it up with whole beans and top it up periodically - no need to fiddle with ground beans and leave a mess on the counter. You could even make french-press style steeped coffee with it! That YouBrew really was a marvel of industrial design. Want to guess how much that machine set me back? $300. That's right, it cost over 4 times as much as this machine. Believe it or not, when when engineers have to design a product within a certain price point, certain compromises must be made. But one thing that this machine does not compromise is taste. With freshly ground beans, I can produce a coffee that is just as balanced in extraction as my old YouBrew. It is also significantly easier to clean, due to the much simpler design with less moving parts. And with the extra $240 I saved, I got myself an electric burr grinder, so I can now use other home brewing methods (cold brewing in the summer, anyone?). When judging this machine, you must compare it with other home brewing methods. Pod machines are generally more expensive and the cost of the pods are comparable to single origin beans. An AeroPress at $50 costs almost as much as this machine. Large Bodum french presses are $60 or more. A good home espresso machine is >$600, and requires an almost equally expensive grinder to get the most out of it. All but the first of these methods are fully manual, so you need to put in a certain amount of effort when brewing - not good if you're like me and aren't fully awake in the morning before a cup of coffee. It also helps to have some level of knowledge about coffee in order to get the most out of these methods (some more than others). At the end of the day, is this the most user-friendly coffee machine out there? No. Is it good at making great-tasting coffee? Yes. If you want user-friendliness, buy a more expensive machine next time.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
made good coffee after learning to live with flaws
I bought my machine a few years ago nd it has been making good coffee ever since. I use a plastic jug to fill the machine to avoid spilling and to get the correct amount of water as the water level indicator never worked. It is not that easy to clean especially if coffee grains go into the machine. The hot plate no longer keeps the coffee warn so I am looking to replace it with something better but haven't been able to find anything yet.

Embarrasing
If I was part of the design team for this machine I would hide in embarrassment. First thing first, filling water reservoir is fidely and it makes it easy to spill water. 2nd issue, when you open the top lid all the condensation in the lid spills out on the back of the coffee maker. It will not keep your coffee hot for long as it turns off the hotplate automatically after a short time. It is slow and pushes out a lot of steam. This is a product I would never buy again.

Good coffee... great price
A long time ago I bought a little drip machine from one of the discount shops. It lasted years, albeit without a lot of use... mainly for Sunday morning coffee time. And honestly, my coffee making skills in the beginning were pretty tragic. I found bought cappuccino also varied in quality dependent on the barista so I persisted because I wanted to make the perfect brew. Sadly my little mini dripper sprung a leak on the side a few weeks ago so I came on to do my usual research before buying.

market and I think if I had read these reviews I wouldn't have bought this one!!! Unfortunately I haven't won lotto, I'm not planning to set up a stall in front of my house, so regardless of how idiot proof they professed to be, $69.00 from J B Hi-Fi with a replacement warranty, seemed like a bargain in comparison. I make GREAT coffee with this machine...and thanks to the large filter basket and jug, lots of it!!! Coffee is now a daily treat. It doesn't grind the coffee or froth the milk but I have appliances that do all that and the whole set up cost less than $200 and as a bonus they have alternative uses. Easy to make. Just put the ground coffee beans into the basket, pour water into the tank, and press the button. Wander off to get ready for work while the milk frothier does it's thing. Easy to clean. Lift the basket out, empty the contents into the bucket destined for the worm farm, rinse off the remaining residue, pop back into the machine and rinse out the jug for the next use.Similar opinion? Hope you do not break the jug
The coffee machine works well but I accidentally broke the jug and guess what, you pay almost the full price of a new brewer for the jug only. Ridiculous. And they will not help you at all to find a store with a jug available. It is either you buy another for almost the price of a new one or live with it.

FANTASTIC ! Just buy one !
This is one great coffee machine, why spend hundreds on a " pod " machine and its expensive pods, when you can have a really great coffee made every time in a short period of time. Sure the lid assembly could be better designed in regards to dripping onto the bench....minor detail, but for ease of use, spot on temperature of coffee.....this is a winner !

Rubbish
Very disappointed with this machine. Initially it worked great and it is an easy machine to use. However, I have had it for three months now and used it most days it started taking longer to brew and started steaming too much. It then just stopped working. A 3 month machine is just not good enough!

Great Coffee Machine
This is a great machine - I am using my second one of this type now well over a year old - no problems- excellent coffee -overall a great product for the money - I purchased it from Bing Lee but I think they are readily available elsewhere. I usually pop the jug in the dishwasher from time to time and it is sparkling like new

Died after four months
1. Condensation running off the back is annoying.
2. Initially made good coffee.
3. Steamed more and more with less hot water dripping into pot. I think about a third of the water was lost to steam.
4. Then stopped all together.
6. I think a valve in the machine has blocked.
7. A very poor design.

I bought a Breville coffee machine in May 2022. It worked fine and in December I had problems. The red light came on but coffee didn’t filter through. I took it back to the store and it was replaced. 2nd machine has been fine until this morning. Same problem with light on but it won’t make coffee! I’m quite disappointed as it’s a fantastic machine and coffee is excellent. Please let me know what needs doing!! It’s lockdown and the store is still closed! I’m contacting you from Namibia, so cannot call helpline. Thank you...... J Stafford

Sounds like your machine needs cleaning, it is blocked. Add two thirds water and one third white vinegar to tank. Place jug in position as if you are making coffee and just turn on. Let it drip through and then tip out jug. Run a tank of clean water through coffee machine and then it should be good to go, if not repeat process. Rinse out filter and jug to get rid of vinegar aftertaste. If you don't want to use vinegar you can purchase a descaling cleaner from the supermarket. You should clean your machine approx. every month, if you use daily.
Thank you. I will give it a try and let you know.
Good morning again. I have tried the cleaning process, but still nothing!!! Help please!!!!!
