As good as the hype
always wanted a barista style coffee machine but waited until black friday sales to pull the trigger on this set. Absolutely love it. Grinder and machine both super easy to use, clean and maintain but my favourite would have be the steam wand. hubby doesn't drink coffee so i use it to make his hot chocolates - comes out beautifully. thick, velvety and creamy. Steam jet is powerful, and the dual boiler means i can extract my coffee and steam milk at the same time! highly recommended

Improves your life.
I am by no means a coffee snob but my partner is and she says while the product is always the most important factor, this machine is the best she has used personally. I am happy with the ability to have people over and put out multiple cups of consistently good coffee, plus it's quiet and easy to clean which always is a bonus.

Brilliant grinder, cheap with high end results
I've had this unit over a year now, and it's been great. 5 coffees per day everyday without failure!
The settings are easy to change and the unit is easy enough to clean, my only critiscism is a small one, but sometimes you might get a new coffee that you want to try without finishing the last bag...but you have to grind the last bit out or try and move the last few beans by hand.(again very small issue)

Simplify your grinding
Upgraded from a "classic" grinder and the dosing on this one is fantastic.
Been using it for almost 2 years now and thanks to it everyone in the family can make perfect espresso shots as the dose is always right.
For the price and quality, it beats a lot of very expensive Italian/professional grinders.

Excellent
Had a Breville Dual Boiler coffee machine, and was looking for the Grinder. Initially compared several grinders but at last decided to purchase the BES 920 to go with the coffee machine. The grinder has various level of setting, and you can adjust according to your own preference. Would definitely recommend it!

Awesome and smart grinder
Do not look any further for a grinder. This will be the best buy you have made. I have used it for almost a year and cannot find fault in it at all. The smart option of remembering the grinder times for one or two shots ensure that you only ever adjust the grind size which makes a better shot. It is consistent in grinding coffee which is what you require.

Great
A couple of years ago I treated myself to this Breville Smart Grinder BCG820 along with the Breville Dual Boiler BES920 after reading too many reviews and advice from Ozbargain - they've both been in daily use since and haven't missed a beat - one of my best ever purchases

Excellent product
This was a great purchase for us. We got the machine and grinder and we love it. We had been using a delongi magnifica and the quality doesnt compare. The Breville was only half the price of the delonghi but makes 10 time better coffee. You cant get a better tasting coffee using the breville. We love it and highly recommend to all those that appreciate a good coffee.

The Grinder works like a charm
The grinder does the job perfectly. It is easy to refill and easy to pull apart and clean if necessary. The settings are easy to work with which allows you to set the timer and the the finer/coarse settings as per your needs. Would highly recommend anyone looking at this as a add on to their coffee machine.

Perfect complement to our coffee household!
Got this as a surprise Christmas gift. Simple and easy to use. Functions are clear, and whilst it does take a few tries to get the right settings, it's well worth it. Been playing with different dose & grind settings whilst enjoying the art of coffee making even more. Get a good tamp, rubber mat and a decent machine, and you're well on your way to great tasting, DIY coffee! Plus saves a few $$$ along the way as well...the stainless steel look is classy and keeps the Mrs happy! Next version with auto tamping would be a plus!!! ;-)

Making really good coffee
Purchased breville dynamic duo pro from myer couple days ago. It comes with bes920 machine and smart grinder pro. We got the cranberry colour and they look lovely and cute.
Hubby just grabbed a bag of vittoria oro 500g bean from coles to try out. We had a really hard time at the beinging, fast run like pouring, though tried the finest setting (we though) and tampered very firmly (got muscle ache the next day XD). After using almost 500g beans we stopped and decided to give breville a call in the next morning.
Got told from breville...Read more
we had to use freshly roasted bean with roasted date to get a good extraction. Beans from supermarket are always old and can be more than 8 months old after being roasted. It caused our coffee made was all under extraction. The reason to buy these machines is to save money in long run from takeaway coffee and the lovely red colour would look great on our buffet table. However, being restricted to buy much dearer beans ($15/250g) at all time, it may not save much at the end.... We then looked up in the internet and found we were not the only ppl having under extraction coffee from vittoria beans. The good thing is breville has upgraded the smart grinder. We can extend the grind size from altering it from the burr for the smart grinder pro, without having shim installed. Changed the burr setting to 5 and 1 on display, it gave us a perfect extraction from vittoria bean using single basket (the setting still gives under extraction when using Double basket, i believe we need to go finer for it). Anyway, we are happy tht we dun need get expensive beans all the time XD. Also, we are so impressed with the milk frothing, very consistant and silky. Never fails!!Similar opinion? Love it!
Using it everyday since 2 years and hasn’t missed a beat. Its much better than the professional ones and I use it to make professional barista coffee.
All automatic settings with no waste nothing to clean up.
One small complaint - the group handle doesn’t stay in without help. Probably because I use a heavy professional group handle. So I guess Breville might of only tested with home brand coffee machines.

Smart grinder does the job
For all its smart features really the smart grinder is your average middle of the road grinder. Its LED screen is pretty but as a coffee snob doesnt do anything extra to make for a better grind and ultimatley a better coffee . Having said all that I do enjoy have the screen to make life a little easier.

Purchased it online.

You can count on the perfect grind!
Picked this up on clearance for a great price. The unit itself is quite bulky and takes up a fair amount of bench space but it does the job perfectly. Good adjustable grind settings - espresso and plunger style work well - and easy to clean. Sometimes there is a delay between turning on and the LED light coming on but otherwise it's reliable.

Fantastic for the price.
In response to what has previously been mentioned; it appears newer models now come with an upgraded metal impellar which shouldn't wear away anymore. I know from experience as my older model had the plastic one which wore away allowing it to clog up, this was however replaced by the shop I bought it from and the new one seems far more efficient.

Breville Coffee Grinder Pro improves coffee flavor
This grinder is a Conical burr grinder. Much better than our previous grinder with a cutting/chopping spinning blade action where you just kept grinding and hoped you timed it right.
For some reason, the Breville keeps the coffee flavor in the coffee and allows it to be released later. Up to 60 different grinder settings give the exact grind required. Process is to set the number of cups, then the grind and then fine tune the amount or dose as it is called, using the timer to within 0.2 of a second. A precise grind and amount.
