Perfect coffees every morning

published

A fantastic machine for the price which allows you to make barista style coffees in your own kitchen every morning. The separate grinder is excellent and the dials/digital display allow you to customise the grind settings and dose with ease (particularly useful when experimenting with different coffee beans). Coffee machine is a breeze to use and no fuss to clean. Well built with many professional like features - highly recommended.

Don't waste your money

published

Purchased in April 2016 and performed well until doing a descale in August 2017. After the descale the machine started leaking from the hot water tap. The machine is now in for repair for the fourth time with issues such as leaking from steamer and turning off while heating up. We now have a very expensive paper weight. Do not buy this machine if you want a quality product that lasts. Breville customer service's mantra is "there's a two year repair warranty" and refuse to replace what is clearly a faulty machine.

Really great coffee machine and great value for both grinder and coffee machine

published

We got the red model which is quite nice and the dual boiler makes the ready time to use the coffee machine quite instantaneous. The grinder works perfectly and coffee machine makes great coffee we haven't had any issues after having it for 2 years now. This model has been replaced by a new model but breville makes great products in general.

As good as the hype

published

always wanted a barista style coffee machine but waited until black friday sales to pull the trigger on this set. Absolutely love it. Grinder and machine both super easy to use, clean and maintain but my favourite would have be the steam wand. hubby doesn't drink coffee so i use it to make his hot chocolates - comes out beautifully. thick, velvety and creamy. Steam jet is powerful, and the dual boiler means i can extract my coffee and steam milk at the same time! highly recommended

Improves your life.

I am by no means a coffee snob but my partner is and she says while the product is always the most important factor, this machine is the best she has used personally. I am happy with the ability to have people over and put out multiple cups of consistently good coffee, plus it's quiet and easy to clean which always is a bonus.

Nice quality

published

Very nice quality. Easily make great coffee. Simply love it. The automatic start every morning is also so useful. Took 5 mins to make a cup of coffee and clean up everything. Best coffee experience ever. Definitely will recommend to anyone I know. Already told a few friends to buy the same one.

Brilliant grinder, cheap with high end results

published

I've had this unit over a year now, and it's been great. 5 coffees per day everyday without failure!

The settings are easy to change and the unit is easy enough to clean, my only critiscism is a small one, but sometimes you might get a new coffee that you want to try without finishing the last bag...but you have to grind the last bit out or try and move the last few beans by hand.(again very small issue)

Solid machine; good gateway machine into the world of high end espresso

published

This can produce a proper coffee if used correctly. My issue was that it was a tad inconsistent. You really have to dial in the grind, tamp evenly, etc. The steam is really good; it's as powerful as many higher end models. Overall, a decent buy if you're looking to learn more about coffee.

It is good with this price

published

I am happy with this machine, I used to run a coffee shop, this machine make the coffee very similar to the shop one. It is cheap, I brought from Myers, it was around 300 dollars. When I brought it, I found target only sold for 260, it’s discontinued product. One thing, I would like to compalain about the temperature, my husband like drink coffee every morning, he always says the temperature is too low

Simplify your grinding

published

Upgraded from a "classic" grinder and the dosing on this one is fantastic.
Been using it for almost 2 years now and thanks to it everyone in the family can make perfect espresso shots as the dose is always right.
For the price and quality, it beats a lot of very expensive Italian/professional grinders.

Cafe quality coffee at home

published

This machine will pay for itself in the savings you will make by making a "take away" coffee from home. Easy to set up and use. Dual boiler function is great as you can heat your milk while the coffee is dispensing. We always get comments on the taste of our coffee. Choose a good quality organic coffee bean and you will be set!

Best coffee machine for value

published

Great value home coffee machine. Excellent pressure and dual boiler too. Meaning I don’t have to wait a while before I can steam my milk. It makes consistent cup of good espresso, if you know what you’re doing. The grinder is ok, had a bit of issue in caibrating the burr, but very good value for money.

Always reliable

The price of this machine which adjusts coffee pressure and flow time is excellent value. I have been using it twice a day for nearly two years, and it works flawlessly. Cleaning is easy with the tablets, and the pressure gauge is good guidance to grinding your coffee. Perfect coffee every time.

Had a Breville Dual Boiler coffee machine, and was looking for the Grinder. Initially compared several grinders but at last decided to purchase the BES 920 to go with the coffee machine. The grinder has various level of setting, and you can adjust according to your own preference. Would definitely recommend it!

Awesome and smart grinder

published

Do not look any further for a grinder. This will be the best buy you have made. I have used it for almost a year and cannot find fault in it at all. The smart option of remembering the grinder times for one or two shots ensure that you only ever adjust the grind size which makes a better shot. It is consistent in grinding coffee which is what you require.

A couple of years ago I treated myself to this Breville Smart Grinder BCG820 along with the Breville Dual Boiler BES920 after reading too many reviews and advice from Ozbargain - they've both been in daily use since and haven't missed a beat - one of my best ever purchases

Love it!

published

I was spending so much money on coffees everyday so thought it would be a smarter idea to just buy my own coffee machine. After a lot of research, I decided on this one. I just turn it on when I woke up in morning, let it warm itself up and then make my coffee. It does take a littler longer than using a coffee machine that uses pods but it is still definitely worth getting one because the coffee is better and customisable to you. It's just like having a mini barista in your home :)

BES920 (Dual Boiler)

I have recently completed a descale on my dual boiler. Reset and all good, however, when I turn in machine, with Water tank half full, i can hear machine filling up with water then reaches temperature and extracts well (9.5 bar) and steams milk, however after I turn it off, water must be leaking from machine as within few hours the drip tray is completely full of water and the water tank is empty - didn’t do this before the descale? Any ideas?

BES920 (Dual Boiler)

I have just purchased BES920 today, and this machine makes a big noise when brewing. Checked YouTube and found same problem someone posted but he just ended up to use it as is. Pp suggested it is the air trapped in the boiler, but my machine made the noise since the first coffee. Anyone knows I can fix this?

BES920 (Dual Boiler)

Hi there. I need some help with my BES 920. It has run faultless for the first 12 to 18 months but after that the pre infusion randomly plays up. Sometimes It works normally but most of the time when you press either of shot buttons you just get what I assume is the solenoid valve humming and no pre-infusion until it reaches the 7 seconds before full pressure comes in and pours a less than acceptable shot. After searching for the problem I have replaced the solenoid valve thinking that was the issue but it still does the same thing. I have learnt to get around the problem by dispensing some hot water and then doing a shot which works every time but just a band aid for the problem. Any suggestions as to what the problem could be? Anyone else with the same problem? Looking for a solution. Thanks
