Overpriced junk probably marked up by 1000%. When I try and sell goods in there the staff think they are crap hot and turn most things away. The commercials make it look like you can sell anything in there and get paid large amounts of money. WHAT A LOAD OF CRAP. Anything but.

I used to shop at the Fortitude Valley store, mainly looking for used movies, CDs, and games. Other shops soon caught up in price and the quality declined. Be very careful about buying anything as they'll try to get out of paying you your refund. Manager admitted that they do not test discs to see if they work. As for other items like small appliances or electronics, I think you're often better off buying new than from Cash Converters due to high prices and bad quality, which is a real shame.

managed to find some bargains but rarely happens, and i actually made small profit buy flipping it, never sell your stuff to them tho, they'll offer you sh*t all, staff are pretty friendly at the stores i've been, but they have no knowledge on the items they're selling, at one point they're selling fake gears, i've been trying to convinve them the gears are fake, and they just tell me it's confirmed by some random person that the item they have is real. Also, i almost bought a stolen gear once, lucky i shared the item around on a facebook community, and the bloke who lost the item recognised the sticker on the item.

Do not buy/pawn or sell to cash converters!!! Joondalup is the worst with stingy offers & very high prices!!! Rude staff.

I went to the Stones Corner Brisbane store and was advised by the staff if I had any unwanted items to bring them into the store. I came back the next day with gold & silver jewellery, it is good quality and better than what Cash Converters sell. I thought this is what the store needs.
The staff showed no interest and offered practically nothing for it! So glad I came back and wasted my time. Will NEVER go back again.
My advise sell your items on eBay! And don't bother with cash converters!!

I have just experienced the worst customer service I have ever had at Cash converters in Onehunga Auckland. Absolutely terrible the most rude unfriendly staff I have ever had the misfortune to deal with in my life. You have just lost a customer permanently from your store I will never be shopping with you again.

Bought an electric tower heater from Ringwood CC. I was assured it worked. When I turned it on at home, it switched itself to standby mode after about 30 seconds. On all heat and fan settings.

Took it straight back and they offered me a different one that was smaller. Again; assured it would work.
Got it home. Heater turned on but did not heat.

Took it back AGAIN and bit my tongue during the refund; despite being livid about the amount of time wasted.
On the upside, the 2 saleswomen I dealt with were very apologetic, and quick to help with the exchange and refund.

I recently had bought a secondhand laptop due to not having the money for a new one but needing a laptop because I have a lot of studying to do.. But because my laptop is over 10 years? Old I can't do the things I need with it unless I pay over $300 - $400 / updating so I can put word on it and also I have to pay to get words, so I'm kinda stuck and with studying I like to copy and paste important tips from my study..

Went into penrith store for a money loan on jewellery they would not lend on a necklace because it did not pass the test even though on every link it says 9ct. Fail to recognise well known marks and fail to weigh it instead had it in his hand and said mm must be hollow..
the 2 blokes there are hopeless. Went around the corner to aceben obviously knows what he is doing gives us 1500 cash loan. top bloke at aceben.

Tried to buy a ps3 from them, and it didn't play games, i returned it, they gave me another one, it didn't even turn on and the controller didn't work and they refuse to give my money back, still awaiting to get a third replacement.

I bought portable air condition from cash converters Burwood east and it was faulty. The air conditioner does not cool the room, instead it circulates the hot air in the room. After about a week of purchase i returned it and they told me that they need time to check it. After few days they refused to give me a full refund for the air conditioner, and said that they will only refund half of the amount i have paid or asked me to buy something else for that amount. which in my opinion i think is ridiculous. the staff was very rude about this and have not co-operated with me as its not my fault that they sell faulty goods. Throughly disappointed. I'l take this case to consumer affairs in few days

This store has recently changed hands and it is so much better than it was. I have bought many items and some at really bargain prices. If I find an item, to make sure I get the best price, I usually find it best to research the item. I find that most of the staff are always ready to bargain, especially when you can show it is cheaper elsewhere. It's even better when they are overstocked and have their 20% off sales.
