Seems OK
Apprehensive after reading reviews, but still bought the $180 12 month deal. I was with Optus and that seemed to be the only problem to using web activation - because we were with Optus I had to do it over phone. I was transferred a few time (5 maybe) but finally everything was done within 35 minutes. Phone activated next day, kept same number. Did my wife's phone at the same time. I also got Flybuy points when buying sim's. Two days running and no problems.

Couldn't activate despite 3 phone calls to helpline
Was attracted to Coles mobile as it is significantly cheaper for my data requirements. Bought a SIM, tried to activate on the website but it kept giving me an error message that consisted of only an exclamation mark, no explanation of what was wrong with my details. Called the help number, was transferred to Optus. Optus told me it was a Coles mobile problem & to call Coles instead. Called Coles back & was told it was now too late in the evening to port a number. Called again the next day & was told to buy a new $2 SIM and try again on the website. Same problem. Gave up. In the past year I have ported my number to Amaysim, Telstra, Catch mobile and Vodafone with no hassle.

Absolute rubish
My 82 yo mother visiting from England bought a Coles mobile SIM. It has been nothing but trouble. International calls are included in their $40 recharge but no international SMS, so she went to coles and asked for an extras voucher, they sold her the wrong voucher. I contacted the help line and was put through to Optus. Optus told me that this happens all the time but they cant fix it, you have to go back to Coles. Coles refused to refund the incorrect voucher. The Coles staff do not seem to have any idea about what they are doing. Avoid Coles prepaid at all costs.

a week of waiting and credit is not showing up in my account
purchased a 180$ coles prepaid sim .. activated it succesfully. however, the credit is not showing into my account.
called Called Coles mobile customer number, 1300 644 741, to ask someone about this, nobody knew what was going on and send me through to a million different operators, to no avail.
it's been a week and I still don't have my credit into my account.
completely disgraceful costumer service - they say it's a Coles sim so they can't help but when I call Coles it is an Optus phone number.

Activation is painful
Bought a $2.00 sim and activated it with a $20 plan. Coles advertise activation may take up to 24 if porting from another Optus based provider like Amaysim, Moose, etc. However after 30 hours I still didn't have a connection.
Called the "One Stop Support" number on the back of the sim pack (1300 644 741) and then end up going around and around. Finally after several calls and over an hour on the phone I am told that the "work order is being submitted" and it usually takes between 24 to 48 hours for activation to be completed.
Coles need to lift their game. I don't blame Optus as I have used other Optus based providers (Amaysim and Moose) without any issues but this is the second time I have had problems activating a Coles Mobile sim.

Hopeless!
Called Coles mobile customer number, 1300 644 741, to ask someone about some details on their pre-paid. After going through a series of menus pushing buttons I ended up at Optus customer service. After waiting a while I got to talk to someone who said they had no information on the Coles prepaid and I was told to call Coles customer service number, 1300 644 741. When I informed her that I just called that number and was transferred to Optus she said she couldn't help me.
I then sent Coles a feedback email on their site, informing them that t...Read more
heir customer number redirects people to Optus who can't provide any help. After about a week I got an email back saying, and I quote: "Unfortunately, the Customer Care Team are unable to assist you with your query, please contact our Coles Mobile Team on 1300 644 741 for further assistance." This is what's called an infinity loop. Brilliant, Coles! Brilliant!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Wish I can give - Stars for this crap - Coles Prepaid sim card.
Bought a faulty sim. Went to Coles, told to go to Optus, told to go to Coles, told to go to Optus, told to go to Coles, each time having to explain my situation over and over and over.
Both customer supports in store, online, live chats have been terrible, unemphatic. unwilling to help at all.
I don't want to get this Sim working anymore. Just give me a refund, Coles. Stop pushing me to go to optus or your Coles Mobile support - Which is just a number for Optus. USELESS!

Not impressed - and no App to monitor usage.
Transferred myself & 4 kids to Coles mobile as its the cheapest, but had to phone support for 3 out of the 5, seems like they didn't port the numbers automatically, even when you filled in the form requesting it. Had endless issues with the site to activate them. Also couldn't recharge online until after 2 days. Most disappointing part is no app or website for monitoring and seeing usage. If you set up auto recharge, you can only cancel it by replying to the original message - so have to make sure the kids don't delete it... You have to tex...Read more

300% recharge fail
I have 3 Colesmobile sim cards. One for myself, my wife and my daughter. When I set mine up it took 36 hours to get it working. Porting the number was quick but putting credit on it was a joke. Trying online just got me a message "too many attempts to recharge this device '(from the very first attempt) as if it matters anyway. It wasn't as if I was trying to log in to a bank account. I spent hours on the phone only to be told by people who I'm guessing have never seen Australia that I should go to the store and buy a voucher. The voucher didn't...Read more
even work. I had to ring back and get them to process it over the phone. If that's not bad enough, each time I've tried to recharge online since (on all 3 sims) I have had the same problem right up until right now which will leave my daughter unable to contact someone if there's an emergency tomorrow. I will recharge by voucher tomorrow but by the time its time to top up I will have found another provider. Any suggestions?Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great deal, but issues with porting.
The 180$ deal is definitely a bargain, however I was encountered difficulties when I chose porting as my option. I was using Amaysim and I took read about how the porting duration can be significantly be reduced by porting to different networks ( I was using Amaysim). So I swapped Amaysim to Lebara ( $2 sim card); no sweat in this step.
However, when it came towards porting my number from Lebara to Coles, I faced difficulties on their activation page; It kept pushing me back the list of new numbers despite choosing the "keep my number" option with my details written down.
Alas, I just decided to change my mobile number all together sadly. But great deal though.

The service is very reliable, l have travelled from Newcastle, through Broken Hill and down to SA, had all the service I needed. For the price of $180 for a year including unlimited national calls and texts with 48g of data IAM quite happy.

Terrible Coles mobile. I just bought a $180 SIM card and take me 10 days still not yet been activated. I give up, and can’t get a refund. The refund team just hung up my phone when I request the refund. Hopeless.

I dont know whats with these neg reviews??
Bought a prepaid $20 for myself and my wife, fired mine up at 7:45PM (cutoff for a number port was 8PM) typically takes half an hour to port apparently, thought i would put the new sim in after activating the new sim for giggles straight away, made a call and bam! already active, no issues!
when i did my wifes she had changed her maiden name since she signed up with her old phone, so after a few attempts at activating online, it failed (assume due to the name change) rang up coles, (on hold for a little while) got a guy - not the politest, b...Read more
ut once she went though the activation process BAM done again - no major issues. thought it was such good value, got my mother inlaw a sim, she was porting from voda post paid, (into a different name again) put the account number in to the coles site from her old account (was a Sunday, they only do ports Monday to Saturday) by Monday lunch time, ported over again, no issues. so over all I've been pretty happy with the three attempts i've completed. 3 gb of data, unlimited calls and texts is awesome... because of the long expiry (35 days) it ends up being ~17.38 per calendar month.Similar opinion? I had pretty much the same problems. I ended up not going with them..still have the sim card! I have gone to Vodafone..they had me up and running within 30mins
I would have immediately contacted the company as listed on their website re SMS issues.
If the Wi-Fi is at your home then the password is your issue I would think.

Why is my coles activation sim card taking so long it,s been over 24 hours?
1 answer
If you tried to activate online, it should not take more than a few hours. I would say call the service hotline. it will be Optus call centre, They will have you activated in no time.

Can I get credit other than a coles shop?

Other than the Coles outlets, you have the option of getting credit online via the Coles mobile website. Hope this helps.
