Excellent, highly recommended
This is a very good machine after a series of Sunbeam coffee machine breakdowns and returns. I discovered that you can get a mug under it by removing the drip tray. It has a small water resevoir but that's OK, it's right next to the sink. It is also fairly quiet and makes a great coffee. The steamer makes great milk froth easily and the nozzle doesn't get milk burned onto it. I just ignore the flashing descale light - it still works perfectly and I'm not spending $29 on descaler beacuse a light says so, I know this is at my own peril ! It did come with a small amount of descaler though.

Quality coffee in a flash
The Delonghi EC 680 is quick at delivering quality coffee for anybody on the go who hasn't got time to wait in line at a café - the fact you don't have to worry about disposing of so many spent pods is a bonus and makes this machine an eco-friendly coffee win

Quick & compact little gem.
So quick and easy to use, great taste too. If you you just want good, simply coffee this compact de longhi dedica machine is the perfect addition to any small kitchen and at a fraction of the cost. Most major stores have a demo model you can try before you buy.

not very improvises
not happy
not good result, the given instruction followed but still not a good result as it states and shows in the advertised .
we have to pull apart when cleaning, then let it dry . for a few hours and then put back all in one to ahve the next coffee.
i m not impress at all
April 7th 2017 Update: not so much impress
as its not ways to use and bit expensive too .we brought for work so the visitors can have coffee but it didn't work out very well
and people started hating this machine, so pretty much sitting in kitchen waiting for the next user to use it, unable to clean

No more pods!
Tried some of the Nespresso pod models but was worried about the disposal of the pods. Then my wife bought me the EC680 for Christmas - now my worries are over! This machine can take pods but they are made from paper not aluminium or plastic, but better still it can also use normal ground coffee like an expensive cafe machine. This means I can always use my favourite blend and it tastes better than with my old system. Compared to the Nespresso units the coffee is just as good (if not better). Even though spooning out the coffee into the filter cups takes a few minutes more, the fact that there is no waste material from it is a bonus. Also the milk frother steam arm makes the best flat whites and cappuccinos! Highly recommended.

Great little machine
This is a great little machine which hasn't failed me yet. I have had it for over 2 years and it hasn't missed a beat. I would definitely recommend it over a pod machine. I bought this to replace my Delonghi Icona pump machine, which ended up leaking after about 2 years.

Great small unit
For a small unit it creates great coffee. Sometimes as good as a cafe.
Obviously it is slightly harder to use than pod machines, but well worth the improvement in taste.
The coffee holder can take any ground coffee you wish to use or can take the sachets if you are happy to use them.
The milk frother is a simple steam frother that is quick and effective.
For the price, this is so close to the quality of a big machine that I wouldn't go past it

Adequate.
While it makes good coffee, the bean holder doesn't empty cleanly, and you are left with wet residue in the holder. Not as good as the Breville range, but adequate. Descaling process is tricky and time consuming. Don't use it for frothing milk as it isn't as powerful as it ought to be.

Great little machine.
For making coffee this machine is great. Don't use it for the milk frother, doesn't have enough power to create micro foam and wand is at a really awkward angle. Doesn't come with a milk frothing jug. Only thing that annoys me is that the handle is really stiff to move and you end up having to hold the machine so it doesn't tip whilst you do it.

Delicious coffee for a while...
This machine gave us delicious coffee - lovely crema on top. We have never tried the steamer as we don't drink cappuccino. After 8 months it seems to be blocked - so we descaled. Then it was better...for a while...Then the filter appeared to be blocked...worked on that for a while...and now the pump appears to be not working.

Waste of money
Originally, I was pleased with the coffee produced however we are now on our second machine as the first one was replaced, and now this one is not working, struggles to deliver the coffee and will not produce any steam for frothing the milk, seems like the pump is just not up to the task. Very disappointing.

Great
Bought this for my wife's bday. couldnt be happier with it. It's easy to use which is the most important thing for us. The coffee is beautiful, will never have to buy a barista coffee again. It's very easy to clean which is great when you are rushing to work in the morning and my wife loves it to !

Exceptionally good coffee machine - great results every time.
Seriously a no brainer, this is the best value coffee machine. I've had Gaggia, Miele, Breville and others, this machine is VERY GOOD VALUE and produces excellent coffee EVERY TIME. If you follow the instructions of course but for a manual coffee machine this is hands down one of the easiest to use and yields great results. Could not be happier.

Not off to a good start
Not sure what is wrong but it will not even produce a coffee, tried heaps of different grind settings (Breville Smart Grinder) . Frother not working properly either, must be a faulty pump? wasted 1/4 kilo of beans so far. Back to Good Guys I go... will report back on the replacement.
Edit: decided after consult with the Mrs to get my money back. it was not a good experience & was worried it would not improve that much 2nd time around. I also did not like the low height for placing a cup/mug underneath.

Coffee snob - thumbs up
I had the Sunbeam Cafe Series espresso machine for years and I thought that one would be hard to beat, but the Dedica is a little pocket rocket. I grind my own beans and this machine pours a perfectly measured shot with a beautiful crema on top. Looks classy and compact on the bench. Flexibility to alter the brew temp and removing the steam wand attachment allows for a hotter more velvety latte.

It looks nice and its size fits in my kitchen.
I purchased my EC 680 a couple of months ago. It's easy to use but I am unhappy with its performance so far as the frother goes.
The milk froths over the top of jug in a second hence I dont have it heated anymore than 20 deg c. I don't like real hot coffee but like it between 60 and 70. Don't know what I am doing wrong. The frother is short compared others on the market. A larger jug is no use as the frother can't reach milk.

Great machine, hard to clean
We love the machine, it makes the best coffee we've ever had but we have the same problem as someone else had, . The orange light still flashes after descaling twice. We emailed the company & they said to descale again & do it without the solution but the light still flashes.

Set Water Hardness
Good machine but trying to set some of its functions are not easy to set IE setting off time to save power and coffee tempreture for the problem with the orange light you need to set the water hardness in the settings if this is set to the highest it does keep showing !

Last only 6 months and pump is gone!!!!!
The coffe taste is excellent very neat easy to store don't take much room on the kitchen easy to use But the machine I have purchase Dedica won't pump the coffe after 6 months or was a faulty one bought it from The Good Guys Noarlunga when for service and it took 4 weeks to get a response from service department after several hard chats with service and the manager of the store they agree to reimburse my money, that was a smart move from management of The Good Guys. I will buy something else won't trust Delongi .....sorry .....big name on cof...Read more
fee machines but at $279.00 should last more them 6 months someone on this page said 2 years warranty ...wrong the warranty excuse me is only 1 year On the manual from Delongi mate !!! have look on comments here and some said fantastic machine I have bought it last week sure hope it will last more then 6 months as my did't pump the coffe after 6 months Beware and good luck!! But you have to tell the truth sometime. The service company for Delongi first up said that the holes on the containers where you place the coffe where too small and the machine can't pump the coffe through what a easy get away, so I said to them how came it was not problems for 6 months??? I not a technician myself but what you have told make not sense I think is the pump system mate so after 4 long week and several phone calls they opt to refund my $ 279.00. You got to fight for your pension dollarsSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

My light for descaling stayed on too after we descaled it 3 times. Now it has stopped pouring coffee. It comes out in dribbles. I did the water hardness trick too but it still isn't working properly. Any ideas?

Hi Libpac, I must say I was a bit put off the Delonghi Dedica due to a number of reviewers mentioning issues with the descaling function. I had a Sunbeam Cafe Series that lasted ten years that I never once descaled!! As I have had the Dedica for a few weeks I can not advise you at all about the descaling other than read the instructions carefully (which you probably have done already). The only other thing I can remind you of is that the Dedica (and other machines) can be very fussy regarding overfilling, over tamping and too fine a grind. You probably are doing it right....but just in case...I have our grinder just a bit finer than the coarse setting...I fill the basket to the top with loose grind, level off and gently tamp down so that I have about 5mm of clear space in the basket from the top. In the first week I was putting too much and too fine a grind and tamped too hard. and it either would not come through at all or just dribbled. If in doubt...if you have accurate kitchen scales use 7 grams for the single cup and around 10 - 12 for the double.. The Dedica does not take much coffee! Hope that helps! let me know how you go...because I will probably hit the same problem too! Regards Bernard
Watch the video on youtube and follow allong. Most importantly ## power off in correct sequence or you will have to do it over again .
