Nightmare
Looks great, sturdy but the most pain in the butt coffee machine ever.
1.Hard to get a cup under it.
2. Lights are constantly flashing saying something is wrong.
3. Make one coffee and the lights flash saying boiler is too hot.
4. Ive had this thing for less than a month. It makes two coffees a day and lights are flashing again and now its telling me i have to go out and buy delonghi descaler before i can make another coffee.
5. Doesn’t tell me this when ive made the last coffee but only when i Turn the coffee machine on in the morning.

5 would not be a problem if it wasn’t for de-scaling takes 40 minutes. And you have to stand there the whole time as the vibrations of cleaning is shaking the container off the machine whilst it is splashing corrosive liquid all over the place (as indicated by the info on the descale product) And i have put a tall as possible container under the machine as will fit. I am so fed up with this machine i would chuck it in the bin right now if i could afford to go out and buy another coffee machine but I can’t so I will have to suck it up. I have brought coffee machines a third of the price of this one before. I wish I’d just stuck with them. And im only giving it one star coz it won’t let me do zero

good product
I'm satisfied with this product. the temperature is hot enough once the maximum temperature has been programmed.
the amount of crema is consistent for my even with the various kind of bean I've used (i usually just used a 100% arabica for now so I assume the amount of crema with a mix of robusta should be massive)
I do lots of latte and cappuccino with this and the steaming of the milk is pretty good, even though the foam is pretty thick for doing latte art it's still doing the job ... but for doing another coffee after that you gonna have ...Read more
to let flow some water from the steam wand for the machine to get colder. the cons are ... the machine doesn't take extra fine coffee (so just use fine), don't have an unpressurized basket for a better quality shot so my opinion is a pretty good machine you don't gonna have real barista coffee with that but it still tastes good.

Nice for 2 months, then died
I'd learned to make quite good coffee with this machine over the 2 months I owned it. The steam wand didn't exactly overpower, taking a long time to get milk up to temperature, but the espresso was pretty good with Illy pre-ground coffee I was using.
After just 2 months, three white lights blink continuously, for which apparently the manual describes "abnormal operation" and to get it serviced. No chance I'm servicing something that broke in such a short space of time. Took it back for a refund and won't be considering any similar products in their line.

Great Machine
We have owned this machine for three years and is excellent for the price. We have owned Jura automatic $1,700, and an Italian barista job ($2,200) with a separate grinder. And in my view, the Delonghi beats them hands down as well as any expresso pod (owned one too). Firstly it is ready to produce coffee in less than two minutes, two you don't have to try and work out the grind, you buy pre grounded coffee. The milk frother is better than Jura, and the barista machine was hit and miss too, the Delonghi makes whole milk, and you don't throw tons of aluminium pods in the dump, saving the planet also!

Worst espresso machine I've ever owned - I'm selling if for parts on ebay after four months.
Our old machine broke down and we couldn't afford to replace like for like. So we bought this. It is so fussy with the grinds and I wasted about 1/2 a kilo of fine coffee beans trying to get it to work. We even tried different beans. The best it could do was a thick black and bitter tar-like substance with zero crema. We cut our losses and bought a new Breville machine instead. (Realising of course that with the money for both machines we could have almost replaced our trusty old machine, which is still on the market after ten plus years.) So t...Read more

Good coffee machine, Easy to use
The main reason I bought this machine is just the price caught my eyes, it was very cheap $99 bought from Costco back in May 2022 and I have been using it for 6 months . I usually just make 10 coffees in average in a week.
This machine its very compact and easy to use and It makes good coffee ( ofcause you need to know your coffee making skills). I will definitely buy this machine again if Costco offers the same price.

Not too good
Bought machine in January 2017 from Good Guys for $275. Worked OK to start then began to reset itself and constantly displaying "descale" even after I had descaled it. I have not used it for 18 months - just sits in cupboard and I should throw it out! However,on it's an improvement on my previous Sunbeam Cafe Series which gave up after only just over 12 months.

Mine was a lemon.
Good while it worked (approx 2 months). Only used once or twice a week and after 2 months the machine started resetting every time I tried to make a coffee. Followed advice from Delonghi and reset all the soft settings back to factory default twice. Machine still reset. Delonghi asked me to to take it to a repair agent which I did and 2 weeks later had to go an pick it up as it had been repaired.
Second time I used the repaired unit it reset again. Just as bad as before. Contacted Delonghi and they asked me to return it to the repaired again when I expected a replacement unit.
Machine is going in the bin and I am never going to buy a Delonghi product again. Terrible product, terrible service.

Good value machine
Great little machine for what you pay for. Not perfect, it has a few little idiosyncrasies that take a bit getting used to, but all coffee machines are like that. Easy to clean, but keep on top of it. We live in Perth and the water has more minerals etc so needs to be cleaned more regularly. Overall good value

good when it worked
This machine was quite good when new. coffee was ok though It would stuggled to make a stong double shot with enough volume . It seems to need descaling a lot. In under 12 mnths the water failed to pass through the filter and basket, even with no coffee in it. The pump has gone again it seems, just like the last identical model we had (this is a replacement from the store). I have owned better machines in the past but to be fair they were more expensive. I will buy another brand

So worth it!
Recently bought this coffee machine instead of a capsule one. The coffee it makes is absolutely fantastic, I mean to the level of Melbourne coffee shop. Very easy to use. First I was afraid that too many parts will require cleaning and they do (6 including milk jug) but 5 can simply be rinsed so it literally takes few seconds. As this is not a new model I got it practically at half the original RRP. Very happy with the purchase.

This is a beautiful machine
I enjoy the coffee made from this machine. It probably doesn’t get quite as hot as a fully equipped coffee machine and the pressure heads definitely weaken the coffee a bit, but it still makes a beautiful shot and is very easy to use. Would recommend for something on the lower end scale price but wanting to drink less coffee out.

Lovely and creamy
I love the coffee this machine can produce. Nice and strong and a very easy machine to use however... it seems to need a descale a lot. We live on rainwater so it shouldn't need it but I run it through without the actual fluid just water and the light goes out till next time.. so it seems to be on a timer for descaling not actually needing it. The base is too high for me but can be removed although you need a smaller base cup to fit as a larger mug I have to sit on an angle. It also seems to not be able to pump the water through if you tamp too...Read more
hard. My old machine I could tamp as hard as I wanted but this seems quite picky and just that bit too tamped and I have to wait for the pressure to subside and start over. Very nice coffee when I get it all right though and a nice narrow size machine. Needs to be held down when you tighten the handle in or the whole machine moves.Purchased in March 2021 at Amazon for $135.96.

Great entry level coffee machine for home coffees.
Quite a good machine, certainly worth the value for money and price. It pays to spend time practising with this machine and running it in. Also the quality of your grind is essential between a bad and good coffee. Once i shifted to a good grinder, i can now make perfect single or double shot espressos. The steamer does the job, but isn't exceptional.

Versatile little machine that punches above its weight.
My upmarket (but old) Jura machine died and the prospect of spending heaps to get it mended was looming. We took our time and looked at all offerings with 15 bars of pressure. I kept coming back to the Dedica and was mostly impressed by how little space it takes up on the kitchen bench despite its 15 bar pressure and also the fact that it call also use pods (which would be handy for emergencies) . So far I haven't used the pod feature and note that these are the ESE Easy Serving Espresso which I still need to track down -re hard to find). I ...Read more
grind my coffee in a Nutri-Bullet so it is very fine which may contribute to the good strength of the pour. The frother on the side is quick, simple and hot enough and you can manipulate it easily to make large or fine foam. This is an excellent feature. Oh, and best of all, it is a lot cheaper than the other machines (got a lowest price match) yet has all the same features (except an onboard grinder) is simple to use and makes a good cuppa. We love it.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great coffee machine - easy to use & clean
We had a coffee machine before which used pods but I like the fact that with this machine you can use pods or fresh coffee. Now we can get freshly ground coffee which tastes and smells better than the pods and is much more cost effective.
The machine is easy to use (once you've got used to it) and easy to clean. The milk frother is also easy to use and clean.
It's not too big so will fit into smaller kitchens.

Slow to heat milk, but the coffee tastes great.
Bought for $250 for Christmas and it's actually alright. The coffee tastes great, and we buy our packets from coles - so that says something.
One flaw is the steamer is a little slow, it would take me almost a full minute to heat the milk to 65 Degrees.
The only other flaw is you can't drink from regular sized mugs with this model. They just don't fit under the group handle.

Questions & Answers
Deane M.asked
Does it have adjustable steam knob
Variable
1 answer
I have no idea but doubt it. You would need to look at the product description. It has options for steam and to heat milk but thats all as far as I can see.
Teenaasked
Hello, can you froth milk without heating it up? So have cold milk with froth?
1 answer
No. A jet of steam is what is used to froth the milk. You need heat to create steam.
Cold frothed milk would require a mixer to manually stir the milk - search 'milk frother' on Amazon.
Graeme asked
How do I slow down the time to make a coffee to the cup I see from the internet the flow to the cup should be about 30-40 seconds but I cant get past 18seconds what can I do to extend the time

If your coffee was't designated as Espresso coffee, it might be too coarse of a grind and water would just run through it.
I don’t know the coffee I purchased says suitable for espresso machine, and I have tried (bought ground coffee); and( beans)as I have a good grinder.
It is like the delonghi dedica is set to 18 seconds and nothing I do can change this setting.
I like this small machine as I am the only person who drinks coffee in the house.
I would appreciate some help
