Awesome!
Have had this machine for over a year now and love it! I use this everyday (sometimes multiple times a day) and it has not missed a beat. I have not used the frother side of things but for making long blacks = perfect. Relatively quiet and small enough to be able to take on holidays away. Fast warm up time as well.

Cafe quality coffee
I managed to get this coffee machine on sale, but given the quality of espresso, I would have gladly paid full price! Absolutely no harshness to the coffee, but rich flavour and the crema is amazing! This is thanks to the 15 bar of pressure, which is impressive for such a compact machine.
Once you learn how much to coffee to add to the filter (takes a few tries), it is actually super efficient. I thought I'd only get time to use it on weekends but I am able to smash out a double shot each morning.

tially, but again it just takes a little practice, as would any machine. I removed the frother and just hold the milk jug at an angle and the resulting milk texture is lovely. Machine is easy to clean and maintain. Love this machines, I'm so happy with the purchase!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

fun and enjoyable cafe like coffee
We could not wait to use it as soon as we received it.Also bought a digital grinder to match it, love them! easy to use, easy to clean, taste almost like barista coffee, should be better with more practice. The machine is abit light given its small size, well, guess cannot do too much about it...

Very good for the price
Makes very good foamy froth and tasty coffee. have no regrets for buying it. biggest reason why i bought because it isvery easy to use and most other coffee machines are much more complicated. it only has a limited number of buttons so you dont get flustered by the looks

Inner city cafe quality coffee in your home
This is the best coffee machine I've ever used. I get inner city Sydney cafe quality coffee from it.
It's an elegant looking machine, extremely compact. The frothing attachment makes a lovely foam.
It's easy to clean and maintain, and very quick to set up. It's amazing value. I am not sure why you would get a bigger machine unless you needed to pump out vast quantities of coffee because on quality this is indistinguishable from cafe coffee.

Amazing Work Hourse
We love using this coffee machines. Its extremely easy to operate and produces generally great coffees.
A few things to consider.
1. The place for cups is not very wide. So to fit to cups they need to be a certain size. (we had to buy new cups)
2. Milk Frothing is perfect for Cappuccinos. But if you like a flat white or a latte, it can be challenging. (there is only one setting)

OK but scalded myself a few times
We purchased this as a warranty replacement for other similar DeLonghi machine. They take up very little bench space and make an adequate coffee but nothing near cafe-quality. (We've purchased cheaper machines eg, bottom-end Sunbeam and Kambrook, which have produced significantly better crema with minimal problems but failed ultimately through cheap components or corrosion issues.) For the Dedica, getting the grind right and adjusting (minimising...) tamping methods is crucial to being able to just *dispense* coffee from the outlet. We experie...Read more
nced this with the other model as well. This Dedica model also seems to have these little 'plates' (filter) that go into the group cups which are annoying and block easily. The end result being that no coffee dispenses, the machine stops and flashes at you, and when you remove the group you are sprayed with pressurised hot water and coffee grounds. We estimate that in the 1 week that we've had this machine, we must have lost 250g of coffee to these problems. Sometimes removing the filter from the cup is so difficult, I've sought out pliers to grip the tab. Our son is a trained barista and has issues with steamer as well. I'm trying desperately to find the positive with this machine so I'll part by saying it looks really nice and it makes coffee (but we'll never buy another one).Similar opinion? Just what I wanted
Easy to use and easy to clean and doesn't take much space. The quality of Coffee it is producing wouldn't imbares any good cafe. I'm very happy with it and would definitely recommend it for anyone who does not want to pay an arm and a leg or have limited kitchen space.

I love it so much!!
I love this machine so much, it’s practically a member of the family!
I have worked as a barista in the past so I am pretty picky when it comes to coffee.
This machine produces a beautiful coffee with a gorgeous crema. It is tough and durable, easy to clean and extremely easy to operate. It is a no nonsense machine and you can tell it is top quality. I hate those espresso machines with lots of buttons and settings, basically a whole bunch of ways they can malfunction.
I’ve had this machine for over a year and use it twice daily - it has ...Read more

Check Your Cups
Purchased yesterday. Easy to set up. Easy to use. Coffee tasted fine but then that really comes down to the price you pay for your ground coffee. Nice and compact on bench.
BUT our coffee cups don’t fit under. They are pretty standard at 10cm in height, they are from a dinner set. But they won’t go under easily and scratch the tray they sit on in the effort to do so. So take along a cup to test before you buy - remember the filter holder has to be in place too.
Also it comes with different size filters depending on whether you are making 1 c...Read more

Solid and reliable performer.
I really like this machine as it is well made, reliable and a solid performer. The only criticism I have for this is that the steam nozzle cannot cope with more than about 30 seconds of steam at best. It then overheats without fail. Other than that it pretty much does what I ask it to . Good crema and good value overall. Considering my serious coffee addiction this thing paid for itself within 3 months and does two cups of coffee a day for me plus the family. Attractive, compact and sleek design. Really good for a kitchen with little bench space. I would repurchase and hope that the steam is more resilient next time.

Great machine
Once you set it up properly it makes excellent coffee time after time. My only issue is that I am having trouble finding the right size cup for my long blacks. I have a 160ml cup and a 90 ml cup but need one around 125-130ml.
It’s very easy to clean and doesn’t take up too much space. Just be careful you don’t accidentally push a button when you are fitting the group head.

Makes great coffee
The DeLonghi Delica is very simple to use and clean. I grind my own decaf beans and have found this coffee machine makes excellent flavoured coffee. I keep a box of DeLonghi ECE satchels for when I have visitors. Without exception the comment has been how nice the coffee is. The only negative is the cup warmer is a bit of a waste of time.

Impressive and compact
In my case I am using this machine very often and I love the taste of coffee it is producing. One of the main advantages is the space it occupies - it is very compact. In addition it is simple to use and relatively easy to clean, although I use it for espresso only.

Love it
This is a great compact size and doesn't take up much room. It is stylish and smart. It is easy to clean and even though we only really use it for espresso you can also make cappuccino too. I'm really pleased with our purchase and would recommend to anyone interested in an easy simple coffee machine.

Simple, effective, works.
I use this machine only few times a week, and for me it is perfect. Very reliable (but see below), makes what I consider to be very good coffee, compact design, easy to clean and use (I only make espresso, no milk, no other fancy options). RELIABILITY: I noticed with different brands that the steam making module sticks when not used for a long time (2-3 month), and the machine simply won't start. I had this issue many times in the past, and the fix is very simple: disconnect the water container, unplug from the power socket, lift the machine, turn it sideways and upside down, and shake a few times. Apart from that (not unique to this model), ticks all my boxes.

Perfect little machine!!!
This machine makes Good coffees, if you buy good coffee and take up very little space on the kitchen bench, very easy to use and clean.
The milk frothier is Ok, but t it is not real creamy and tends to be watery, but it does the job of heating.

Simple but great.
The coffee machine was great. It's not big, doesn't need much space. But it has every function you need. Nice & easy. The coffee it made taste great. Easy to clean. The steam function is powerful. It would be great if it comes with a milk jug. Overall, really good.

Does it have adjustable steam knob
Variable

I have no idea but doubt it. You would need to look at the product description. It has options for steam and to heat milk but thats all as far as I can see.
Cheryl B.DeLonghi
Hi Deane, Our Dedica has an on and off switch for steam but you can vary the way the steam nozzle froths so it can make thick textured cappuccino milk or hot flatter milk. This also acts as a hot water tap.
here is a link to the video showing how to use the steam so you can see how it works.

Hello, can you froth milk without heating it up? So have cold milk with froth?
1 answer
No. A jet of steam is what is used to froth the milk. You need heat to create steam.
Cold frothed milk would require a mixer to manually stir the milk - search 'milk frother' on Amazon.

How do I slow down the time to make a coffee to the cup I see from the internet the flow to the cup should be about 30-40 seconds but I cant get past 18seconds what can I do to extend the time

If your coffee was't designated as Espresso coffee, it might be too coarse of a grind and water would just run through it.
I don’t know the coffee I purchased says suitable for espresso machine, and I have tried (bought ground coffee); and( beans)as I have a good grinder.
It is like the delonghi dedica is set to 18 seconds and nothing I do can change this setting.
I like this small machine as I am the only person who drinks coffee in the house.
I would appreciate some help
