coffee nut - and I love it!
I had a deLonghi PrimaDonna for 7 1/2 yearsand was gutted when it finally died. So was hesitant to "trade down" wondering what I might be missing. But what a fabulous machine. Every bit as good as it's $3000 Prima Donna. Coffee is great, frothing is amazing and havinh had a delonghi before, the settings were simple to use. A great buy for the price.

Excellent Machine
Just bought this on Fri, and what a machine, I was able to make about 16 cappuccinos, prior to having to empty the coffee contents, when water was getting low, it told me to fill, and cant fault the machine at all. The size and sturiness of the machine, it great. Got a good deal at Harvey for $1380 CASH. very happy.

Not bad for price
The only 2 problems I have with my machine is that the coffee could be hotter but the biggest pain is having to empty the coffee grinds even if you have just emptied it as it only does so many then you have to empty should have a sensor to empty only if it is full.Other wise not a bad machine for the price.

Pretty Good, but has some strange niggles
We bought this a few months ago, and overall it is pretty good.
Took a while playing with the settings to programme the buttons to the right amount of milk and coffee, and have them about right, so that is quite nice, haven;t played with the grind. But, this process is not as smart as I expected. For example, you can set the strength of your shot (5 settings), great, but the machine doesn't save this setting when you programme one of the custom buttons, you need to make sure you set the strength accordingly before pressing your custom drin...Read more
k, you can also not program a double shot. Not a huge deal, but surely the whole point of having custom buttons is so you can programme the whole drink and dispense it with one touch. You can also programme some of the Milk Menu options, but you cannot change the amount of coffee dispensed with these, just the milk amount, FYI. Other options such as Long is great, which dispenses 2 shots slowly. Coffee amounts can also be adjusted for manual creations, again 5 settings I think, Second thing, warnings. This machine does not warn you if there is not enough beans or water BEFORE attempting to make a drink. It will start making the drink, then stop, warning you to fill the beans mid grind or the water half way through dispensing, so you are then stuck with a half made drink as it goes back to the start when you rectify it. I have used Saeco (Philips) previously, and these machines would check levels prior to starting the drink and let you know if there's not enough if anything. Just have to check these before making your drink, which is not a huge deal but for the price of this machine I would have expected it to be a bit smarter. Apart from these little niggles, it is a nice machine, doesn't take up too much room on the bench, looks good and ultimately makes nice coffee. Cleaning is pretty easy, except for the internal rubber Milk tube, that's a pain, but that is not just this machine, all machines with integrated Milk dispensers are the same. They can go in the dishwasher though and there is an auto clean option after each drink dispensed. I would recommend this machine to others, but I think next time I may try another Saeco. I would be interested to know if anyone has the same issues with warnings as me, or maybe its just our machine?

fantastic
I was lucky enough to get my machine second hand but would have parted with the cash for a new one. Will take a little while to set up and get used to using but once your set up off you'll go and no problems. Good looking machine and makes a nice cappuccino. In my opinion any way. Very sensitive buttons so that's something to be a bit careful of otherwise it's possible you could end up with something you hadn't counted on. Fully automated, tells you when you need to empty something or fill something. If i had to be very picky it's probably a little noisy. Thats it. I read many reviews and compared different machines and most had some sort of problem. This was about the only one that didn't.

Disappointment
Purchase this machine from JB Hi-fi 3 weeks ago. Tonight it started to make a deafening grinding noise whenever it is connected to power - even when it is turned off! The noise started out of no where, I thought our fridge must have broken down, but it was the coffee machine. Tried all the troubleshooting guides, and online forums for the cause and fixes for the machine. The noise will only temporarily stop when shooting water out of the side sprout. Came to the preliminary conclusion that the motor may be broken and must be taken to Delon...Read more
ghi to be fixed. I am very disappointed having paid more than $1000+ for it 3 weeks ago. Was hoping this machine can last me for at least 2 year! Contacted Delonghi customer service, but they are not available since it is Friday afternoon. So no coffee over the weekend and staring at a $1000+ machine. Read other reviews that Delonghi will take it in to fix it but it might be weeks before they return it. Will keep others updated as to the progress of this abysmal machine. And happy to receive any troubleshooting advice on how to fix it. Cheers.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
lot of money for a cuppa but worth the money
I didn't want to pay so much for a coffee machine and wasn't really looking for an automatic machine. My wife on the other hand wanted automatic. We settled on this machine and I was not too happy about the cost. A week later I am content with the purchase. I have been playing with different settings and am getting a decent coffee. Its easy to set the machine to your own settings. I did have to play a bit to get the grind right as I like my coffee strong. I also like a big cup so it was a problem getting the strength I need in a large mug, but ...Read more
I now have it perfect. the auto settings are good if you want to make a coffee when your busy but I do find that I can make the coffee better frothing my own milk. the temperature is adequate and is hot enough on the maximum setting. I am not using the energy saving mode.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Never looked back!
I was a huge fan of Nespresso, but when our 3 year old Nespresso Pixie started leaking, my husband was determined to get an all-in-one instead. Not convinced, we went to the store, and a sales assistant demonstrated one of the DeLonghi machines for us (can't remember which). I was impressed! They are pretty compact little units, and they really do everything in the 1 machine; grind the beans, make the coffee, froth the milk. You can even use pre-ground beans if you prefer. There are also plenty of customisation possibilities if you can be bothe...Read more
red to program them in (I'm just lazy). The one drawback we have found is that if you run out of beans or water mid-way through a coffee prep, you have to top it up, and then just press the coffee button. This messes up the coffee to milk ratio of the presets. Not a huge drama though. We've started checking the levels of beans and water prior to coffee prep to avoid this. It's also a bit on the noisy side but not a major concern for us. We use ours every morning and love it - I'll never go back to a pod machine again!Similar opinion? I'm in love
We've had a couple of other coffee machines (one manual espresso and a pod machine), and wanted to steer away from the pod phenomenon. An automated bean to cup machine was on the wish list for Christmas. After looking at several different types of machines and brands, we decided on the De Longhi. I love the fact that the water, milk, beans etc, are either on the top of the machine or at the front for really easy access, no need to move the machine at all. It came in black or white to suit most décors (we chose white). It's a very clean machine ...Read more
(after use of milk and when the machine switches on and off). The milk container stores in the fridge, ready for use. The coffee grinds are great to use in the garden. You can customise your own coffee completely! Only one downside, is that initially, it may seem complicated. We actually watched the DVD that came with it and that helped a lot! After that, it's a cinch!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

So Far So Good
Just bought this coffee machine recently so far I have had no problems with hit I like my cappuccino hot (sorry barista's) and this machine is to my liking. The milk is frothed ok and it is to my liking. I just need to find the right coffee bean that is not to strong. The machine has various functions where you set the amount of coffee and milk that is dispensed into your cup, you need to play around with the settings to get the right amount depending on the size of your cup.You can also froth the milk manually if you like your coffee extra hot, the machine is easy to clean so far so good although its early days!!!!!

Questions & Answers
Alyson W.asked
Hi we just bought this machine but the coffee just drips out I.e doesn't flow. Is this normal?
1 answer
Cheryl B.DeLonghi
Hi Alyson, perhaps check what grind and aroma setting you have the machine on if the grind setting is too low a number the grounds will be too fine stopping the water from pouring through the coffee and if the aroma setting is on max as well as the coffee being too fine it will stop the coffee from pouring smoothly.
The grind control is the numbered dial inside the bean container.
Hope this helps let me know how you go.

Hi I am having issues with the buttons on my machine.
Unless I keep my finger on the button for the entire process it stops - even if it has already started pouring coffee into my cup.
I have lost countless amounts of ground coffee and it is getting frustrating!
Any ideas on what may be causing this issue?

Hi Nikki,
Thank you for your question. I believe in this case it is best you call our customer service team to organise a service of your machine. Their number is 1800 126 659.
