Excellent
We purchased this kettle a few days ago and like it very much. It is quite quiet when it is in operation. I am comparing to my old kettle that we had before. It was a glass body kettle and it very noisy. We could not hear TV if we had our old kettle on. With our new kettle we can keep watching TV too :). It is also a quick boil capacity. It looks great on the kitchen bench and does not tack a lot of space either in the kitchen.
design is very stylish, it does not look cheap, it is solidly built, easy to use, nice to handle for water refills, comfortable handle, the lid fits firm and secure.
Hard to find in the shops, we had to drive to certain outlets just to buy this item.

Good
I LOVE this kettle. I only found out about it because of product review. I was thinking of buying a breville BKE260 but it had some scathing reviews and i hardly buy anything without researching it on here first! One of the reviewers mentioned the Delonghi kettle as being really good and far better than the Breville. So i looked it up on the internet and fell in love with the design of it straight away. I like to have a kettle that looks a little bit different because it's always on the bench and we always have to look at it many times a day. I...Read more
dont want an ugly boring kettle. At the moment it's the pride of the kitchen :) I would like to give the kettle 5 stars but i have to take 1 star off for Delonghi's customer service.:( I purchased the glossy pearl white colour. It looks decorative, elegant and stylish. The lid comes off to fill it and it's easy to pour because it has a pointed spout and the handle supports the weight of the kettle really well. Very comfortable to use. Boils quickly and quietly. Was very hard to find! I read a recommendation for this kettle and tried to buy it from any of the big name chain stores myer, harvey norman, good guys etc etc.., but no one stocked them. So i tried Delonghi's website to buy it online but they only sell replacement parts or accessories, not a 'whole' product, So i emailed Delonghi to find out where in Melbourne i could buy one and guess what....i didn't get a response! Anyway i found an online shop called insane deals and they sent it to me and it still worked out cheaper than full RRP. Yay for insane deals!2 comments
I am really surprised by all the problems people have been having with this kettle. I have now had mine for over 2 years and it hasn't been any problem at all. I must say though that i use filtered ta... Read more
p water in my kettle and maybe somehow this has avoided the rusting that some people have mentioned?? Also i fill my kettle from the filter tap on my sink which is very thin and the water goes straight into the spout so i don't need to remove the entire lid to fill it. My kettle looks as good and performs as good as the day i bought it. I wonder if some of the material used have changed since i bought mine in 2010. I hope i haven't jinxed myself but the kettle is still going strong.
An update to this review....... unfortunately a few days ago i flicked the lever to boil water and as it was reaching near boiling it frighteningly went 'bang'. It was dead and a burnt electrical smel... Read more
l reeked through my house for the next 24 hours. I have no idea why it went the way it did but it did get used several times a day, every day, so i guess it had almost 3 years of regular use. I am mostly upset about the way it went bang. It left white/grey 'explosion' marks on the base plate. I never had any other problems with this kettle and i enjoyed it while i had it. I don't regret making this purchase.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

So quiet I can't believe it's a kettle!
What a little beauty! I've just bought this on spec, based on the other reviews & it's fantastic. Quiet, quick boiling and very stylish. Yes, more expensive than others, but generally quality costs. I've been searching for some time for a good quiet kettle that does not have nasty plastic inserts (that break down into the water & gradually increase the loudness) and this appears to be it. I think the quietness may be because of its shape. The more 'vertical' shaped kettles resonate far mor than dumpty ones. Definitely recommended and it comes in a range of classy colours.
Stylish, modern, QUIET!

Great kettle, works well.
Has been a very pleasant experience with this kettle.
Reviews were a great help in the decision to buy it as i thought i would prefer a push button opening lid, and easier to see water level. However the efficiency, quietness, smooth stainless steel interior and better quality wins out.
I now love my cup of tea in the morning, can actually taste the sweetness of the tea leaves. (Dilmah black loose-leaf tea)
Quality of the stainless steel smooth interior. Its shape makes it a quiet kettle. Love the handle.
Miss the 'ting' when it has finished boiling. Initially did not want a pull off lid, but am now ok with that.

Style over Substance
We have upgraded from a rather slow and loud stovetop kettle to the Delonghi Icona. We purchased this kettle from Harvey Normans in the white. It is an absolutely gorgeous looking kettle, it's heavy and easy to recognize as good quality. Having read previous reviews on this site, I thought I was purchasing a rather quiet kettle but I haven't found this to be the case - it is not at all quiet except for when it turns off! I don't think it makes an exceptional cup of tea like others are claiming either. If you want a beautiful accessory in your kitchen that is good quality but in all essence works as well as your average kettle then this is a good choice.
Pretty, good quality

Love this kettle!
Bought based on reviews here and couldn't be happier with it. I'm surprised a few bad reviews have turned up since. Bad luck, i guess. I use filtered tap water in it and it is still spotless after 6 months use.
Water tastes perfect, boils quickly (4 mins for a full capacity boil), not too noisy, is gorgeous! Lovely design, the handle is very comfortable and I love the pearly white colour.
Lid hard to pull off. A slightly bigger capacity would be nice.

Great purchase.
Four adults in our household and we all agree it's the best kettle we've ever had. Stylish, feels great to hold, quiet, boils quickly. All good. Got ours on eBay, new, for $99 (free postage).
Costly, but as long as it hangs in there for a few years, it's worth it.

Our pearl white DeLonghi kettle has had coffee spilt on it and it has stained the outside of the kettle. We have tried regular detergent but it doesn’t budge. We are scared to try anything harsher without advice. Any tips?

I’d try a paste made from bi carb and lemon juice. Add to stain, rub in gently and leave for an hour or so

Why did my kettle just stop working, it's 18 months old. Is it old age

Mine worked for nearly 9 years without issue and now dead. it should work longer than 18 months, could be faulty or some parts DOA.

Is the kettle noisy? I currently have a Bosch kettle and it's really noisy any advise?

My Delonghi kettle is not noisy and the bottom part doesn’t get hot only towards the spout as I have to be careful of my special needs children as they like to try and touch hot things. Try the Delonghi as I have in my photo. Good luck
