My Dyson will not charge. When I press the start button it flashes red 34 times. Does it need a new battery?

If your Dyson V6 is flashing a red light 34 times, it would indicate the battery on the machine would need to be replaced. You can purchase a replacement battery for the Dyson V6 here: https://shop.dyson.com.au/spare-parts/battery-967810-21

If your machine or current battery is under two years old, or you have any further queries, our Dyson Experts are available via [email protected] and we will be happy to help.

No, you can plug the charging cable straight into the port on the body of the unit itself. You don't have to use the mount at all to charge - it's mainly for storage convenience and it looks kinda cool.

Hi Tommy,

Thank you for your query.

While the batteries for the V6 machines can be changed out at the end of their useful life, we don't recommend to routinely swap these out. The batteries on the machine are screwed in place to ensure a reliable consistent connection, and if routinely changed the machine may not work as intended.

We do apologise for any disappointment, however if we can assist further, please reach out to our Dyson Experts via [email protected] and we will be happy to help.

V6 Animal Extra

My Dyson V6 animal extra is cutting out after just a few minutes vacuuming. It appears to be fully charged since the orange light doesn't come on at all. Replacing it to the charger cradle has an almost instant response with the blue light flashing a few time then stops, the blue light then stays on.
I have checked all outlets and filter, there's no blockage. It has good suction but just won't do the 20 or so minutes work. I really like my Dyson it's light and usually reliable, could you help me?

I found this a problem with the two Dysons I had. I doubt it will be the battery as it’s new, but I had to keep pulling it apart and cleaning any microscope dust from the connections in both the foot and barrel. Sometimes that worked. very annoying ongoing problem I had til I called it quits on Dyson.

Josephine Ferris
Josephine Ferris

the problem ended up being a damp filter must have sucked a bit of water up unknowingly so put both dyson and filter out in the sunshine for a few hours then was as good as gold again.. thank goodness

Hi Josephine,

Thank you for your question.

A surging or pulsing noise is a design feature of the machine to indicate that there is a blockage or restriction of airflow through the machine. We would recommend to run through the checks outlined here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ubbGu1Man8k

Should the issue persist please send through your contact details to [email protected] and one of our experts will be in touch as soon as possible to assist.

Dyson
Dyson Team ..Dyson

Hi Leanne,

Thanks for your question.

If you are referring to the valve flap inside the bin inlet, when this is stuck open the machine will tend to make a pulsating noise. Remove the bin from the machine as shown here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BWG-AgswpQo then use a clean dry cloth, old toothbrush or a finger to work the bin flap loose. If you shake the bin, you should hear a loud rattling noise if the flap is working correctly.

If this does not resolve the issue or the area you are referring to is in a different location, please email us at [email protected] with a description of the issue and we will be happy to help.

hi
If the red light flashes with the machine in the charger, the battery may be outside of its temperature range.
Remove the battery from the charger and leave at room temperature until the red light no longer flashes when placed in the charger.
Thanks

V6 Animal Extra

I have a new V6 Animal model. Could you tell me please what the various attachments are recommended for?

1 answer
Dyson
Dyson Team ..Dyson

Hi Merrie,

Thank you for your query. We'll be happy to help.

The main motorised head (25cm wide) is ideal for cleaning carpets, and will provide great results on your hard floors as well. There is no need to change any settings when changing between floor types as the head is designed to switch between floor types without the need to adjust settings.

The mini motorised head (approx 10 cm wide) is great for providing a powerful clean in smaller areas, such as upholstery, carpeted stairs, and in the car.

The combination tool can be used as a debris nozzle to suck up any crumbs and clean upholstery, or with the brush down, used for dusting.

The crevice tool is ideal for getting into tight spaces, such as corners, or between couch cushions.

I hope this helps, however please reach out to [email protected] if we can assist further.

Hi Sammy,

As mentioned above the Direct Drive head is designed for both carpets and hard floors. The main difference is the Fluffy head will not seal to the ground allowing it to pick up larger debris.

Someone cut a square piece of cork and put tape around it and pushes up to top of trigger to hold, when not using pushes it to bottom to store.

I just received my Dyson V6 and even though I don't pull the trigger, my vacuum is on. I can literally set it on the table and walk away and it is still on. The only time it turns off is when the battery finally dies. How do I get it to only turn on while I am holding down the trigger? All of the lights are saying that it is functioning just fine so I have no way to troubleshoot it with the booklets that came in the box.
