My Dyson works fine on normal mode but on Max it cuts out after about 10 seconds. I have cleaned out every filter and disconnected and reconnected the battery, however it still didn’t work properly on Max mode. I contacted Dyson and they believed that it was the recharger, even though it was just out of warranty they sent me a new one, and they were fantastic to deal with. I received the new charger but it didn’t fix the issue. Please help me as I Love my V6 animal but I really need to be able to use the Max mode.

My v6 animal has had a replacement 3.0AH battery which worked fine for a couple of months until it stopped and when it is put on charge the solid blue light comes on but does not ever go out and the unit does not charge.
Is this a charger a battery fault or something else?

The battery on my Dyson animal was replaced by the Dyson Repair Shop just over 12 months ago - it has been working fine until today. A red LED light flashes when I press the trigger and nothing happens - there is no light at all when on the charger. Do I need to replace the battery again or is this a bigger problem?

If you look at your instruction booklet, (if you do have one) you will see if you have red light or flashing red light, it denotes a fault. You will need to contact your Dyson dealer to have it looked at. Is it still in Warranty date? Is it out of warranty date. Regardless, you need to have it checked. Red light shows it is not charging. It may not be the battery. Take it back to the repair shop. ASAP.

I have just bought a new dyson battery for my dyson v6 animal when putting on charge the blue light flashes on and off a few times and then goes out and does not charge can you give me any advice please?

It is normal for the light on the battery to turn off once the machine is fully charged. That being said, we wouldn't expect it to flash blue when on the charger. Please email [email protected] and our Dyson Experts will be happy to help get this sorted.

Expect the battery to stop charging in less than a year. Mine died, and because the cac was under warranty, they replaced the battery. Within 8 months, the second battery died. Since the vac was no longer under warranty, my only option given was to spend $95 USD for a replacement. Based on my history, I’d have to buy a new battery every year. That’s quite an expensive solution.

My Dyson done that. Just replace the battery. you will be covered under warranty just ring dyson. They usually send out a new battery no worries. If they don't the I suggest buying one. Their under $50 for a new battery online.

Do I have leave my v6 charged in all the time if i dont I've heard it could damage the battery?

From what I read in the manual I have the unit shuts off charging automatically once fully charged. So there is no reason to leave it on charge once it's fully charged and turned itself off. I know that over charging causes more issue to the batteries in general.
I turn off my charger once my vacuum is fully charged and it's turned itself off and I have no issues with my unit what so ever.

It is recommended you leave the machine on charge when not in use, even if you haven't fully used the battery. This will ensure it is always ready for your next cleaning session. The electronics in the machine will ensure the battery charges to 100%, but not over.

My Dyson keeps cutting out after 5 seconds. I have washed the filter

I have had the same problem - it usually means there’s a blockage somewhere. If it only happens with the Motorhead and not any of the other accessories, have a really good look at your Motörhead. Pull the rotating brush out and clean it as well. You can view the manual for this vacuum online, just google Dyson v6 animal users manual

My V6 animal is not charging - when I plug it in, it appears fully charged (no LED light), however once I turn it on, it works for a few seconds before cutting out, the blue lights flashes followed by a solid amber light. If I plug it in, the same routine repeats.

When on high speed runs for a short while then stops, put it back on the charger blue light comes on,take it off and it runs for a while then have to repeat on charger again, any help?

You have it on Max setting by the sounds of it. Will only last about 6 mins on this setting. While holding the trigger push the max button at the back so the blue light goes out. Then you will get around 20 mins. Remember a full charge is about 4hrs.

Hi my v6 animal when I put it on high power mode it stops and u have got to put it on charge again to use on normal power mode do u know what the problem with it could be?

I had the same problem and I just ordered a replacement battery to see if it's the battery that went bad. Even on regular power my vacuum wasn't lasting 2 minutes. I had to place it back in the charger and then use it for another 2 minutes.

I’ve had three and they’ve replaced all of them. One a year. They all have done the same thing. It will work for about 2 minutes at a time. This time they are sending me a new battery to install. The vacuum is just now a year old.

Just bought a dyson v10 animal. went to use it but it seems to keep it going you have to keep the trigger depressed, is this correct and if it is the vacuum is useless for people who have arthritis etc?

If the v10 is the same as the v6, then unfortunately, the trigger doesn't lock on. Not ideal even without arthritis.

While the Dyson Cyclone V10 is trigger operated, the trigger requires only a very light touch to turn the machine on. Having the trigger allows you to only use the machine's battery power when it is needed. This allows you to get the most use efficient use out of the battery.

I agree with you. It is exhausting and painful to keep it switched on only by finger pressure. It should be a click on click off switch. I am looking to come up with a homemade fix and am looking at using a Velcro strip to hold the switch down instead of my finger. That will likely work until I think of something more clever. Brian

My Dyson V6 Animal was bought 5th August 2017 and now the battery only goes for a few minutes before it has drained. Have cleaned filters to no avail . Please help as the battery should last longer than this . Thank you .

Thank you for your query.

To confirm, your DC59 or V6 should achieve a run time of 6 minutes on max, or on normal mode, a run time of 16-17 minutes with a motorised floor tool attached, or 20 minutes without.

Standard out of the box, your machine will be on Max mode. To change to normal mode for the longer run time, while the machine is running with your finger on the trigger, press and release the "Max" button on the back of the machine. The "Max" button light will turn off and you will hear the machine change tone to indicate it is now running in normal mode.

I only had mine a short time before returning it, I did notice the charge light was off once it was fully charged, to be sure I suggest you check then manual or contact Dyson.

My Dyson has showers blue light fully charged, after using for approx 1 min, it just stops show an orange light briefly then goes dead. I place it back on charge it show some full charge but once again only runs for a min then dies... does this mean the battery has died ?

Yes it sounds that way. Please keep in mind that I’ve only has my Dyson for a month. You definitely should be getting at least 10-15 mins of vacuuming after a full charge. The battery may be faulty. The instructions come with a troubleshoot guide, otherwise contact Dyson as they offer 12 months warranty.
