Great suction for such a small size!
My flatmate purchased one of these for the apartment and I was so surprised how well the suction works considering the small size of it. It never skips a beat and is very well designed compared to previous vacuum cleaners I've used. Highly recommended for small flats like ours as easy to store.

Love it
Absolutely love my Dyson. Its a second vacuum so it just gets used for quick tidy ups which it is awesome for - so convenient! I use it with the narrow nozzle for cleaning the dirt out of the window tracks which is great. Its very light and easy to use but it produces the same results as my other vacuum which I didn't expect. Great for cleaning out the car too!

Avoid Dyson Cordless products
The vacuum is handy because it is cordless however here is the downside.
Battery life is only 15min max.
Has a tiny catch reservoir.
The attachment with the spinning head has to be cleaned on a regular basis.
The motor that drives the spinning attachment clogs with hair and dust. You will need to service this every 6 months to keep it running.
The battery only lasted 14months before it died.
I get longer out of my phone battery and I use it far more.
The cost of a brand new battery is around $200.
To buy a whole new unit costs $299 for a basic model.
When I could go out and purchase a Kartcher wet and dry industrial vacuum for $120 from Bunnings, this makes anyone question why they would purchase a Dyson cordless.

Brilliant - Works just as I hoped!
We just bought this and it is great! I have been around the bedrooms and te stairs and it still has more charge remaining. This is pretty great! It feels excellent in the hand and has a real quality feel to it. Suction is very strong but if you hit the boost button, its immense! I couldn't wait for it to charge up so I could give it a go and I am very pleased so far. The bin process is a little awkward but I am sure I will get used to it. All in all, a great vacuum and on very good special now too!

Worth the price tag
This vacuum is worth the heavy price tag, it's light weight which is a good thing if you have a bad back and I love how easy it was to attach it to the wall for easy use and it's always there. The only down side is the charge time is very long compared to its usage time but guess that's what you get for cordless.

Not as powerful as i expected
Great that vaccum is light and compact. Though its not as powerful as the cord dyson i had. It does an ok job to keep house a bit tidy but i still use my cord dyson to do the vacumming first. I only use this cordless for small hobs around house or car. Its ok as a second vac not as the one to clean a whole house. Baterry life too short.

Easy to use, works great
Light, strong, cleans well and can maneuver all directions. I especially like the way you can use different attachments to clean different areas ie stairs. It’s not as strong on carpets as a regular vacuum but still does a decent job, only downside is the battery only lasts about 20 minutes and only 6 on power mode.

Good
Once you have a cordless vacuum cleaner it is hard to go back to one with a plug. I like the flexibility of this cleaner but it does run out of battery quickly. Sometimes I also find it gets something stick in it. All in all I recommend it though.

Highly recommend - worth the money.
I have had the Dyson V6 for 3 years now and it's still going strong. Suction power does not seem to lose. Build quality is surprisingly good as I have often bumped it against wall and chair etc and it does not break. Battery lasts 20 minutes and that's enough for my 4 bedroom townhouse. No complaints other than sometimes I wish it can be quieter. It is also easy to disassemble for a quick clean. Overall very happy with the V6 and it's one of the best purchase I have made in quite a few years.

Love it!
Awesome vacuum that's slim, compact and easy to use. Only downside is that it runs for 20 on max power, so might be worth looking at a corded one if you have heaps of carpet. As I only have two carpeted rooms, it's perfect for me and I only need to charge every so often.

Excellent Dyson Vacuum
Scored this on sale as they are bringing out a new design. I am really happy with it and I saved heaps. It is powerful and beautifully designed. You almost want to use it due to its good looks. Its the best solution for stairs as it can get in to every nook and cranny. Charging and emptying are both super easy. This is the vacuum you dont realise you love until you buy it. Its great.

Love it perfect for tiles
This is a great vacuum for quick clean ups caused by the kids. Nice and light and the battery runs for about 30 minutes . Does get clogged with hair but pretty easy to fix. So as long as you don't need it to work on carpet I would recommend.

Removes dirt, and Pain Points
No more lugging a vacuum around the house
No more running out of cord
No more tripping over the cord
No more duct tape wrapped around broken hoses
This thing is one of the best purchases I've ever made. Although not perfect.
Stink things that will happen:
You'll run out battery (in about 20min)
You'll be emptying the cannister about every 3-4 vacuums
You wont be able to suck up things you used to like coins, toothpicks and paper

best vacuum to buy
all you need to have and really piece of mind and never think of it again, if you have animal if you have baby if you are in house or flat just get this and use it, my opinion get the original and don't get any acc with it. most of my friends regret to buy the Acc
i have had it for more than two years working perfectly
they replaced for me one of the parts free of charge
good to buy and don't go for cheap ones unless you don't have the budget for this

Do you have kids? You need this. Stat.
I am absolutely very happy with the performance of this product. I have owned many vacuums and this is by far the best I’ve owned. Even my boyfriend will vacuum now when I ask him, and he won’t whinge! We have two children (4 and 9 months) and I honestly could not do life without this product.
It’s light, it’s quiet on low mode, SUPER easy to manoeuvre.
We have a small three bedroom home (tiles, Lino and carpet) and we can vacuum the whole house one the one low cycle before needing a recharge. The high power mode is great for carpets. I do one room a day on high mode (7 mins) and it keeps the dust at bay and creates a clean sleeping space. 4.5/5 recommend. The battery COULD last longer on high :)

Love it!
We use it on carpet and tiles with the corresponding head tool. It picks up so much dust! I love it for a quick refresh of the room. I still use the regular vacuum (wetheim) cleaner for a more thorough vacuum every few days.
It is easy to maneuvrr around.
Definitely recommend this vacuum cleaner.

Don't waste your money
OK I have had this 2 years now and decided to write a review as I think that's enough time to get used to it. The "good"..... no electric cable and lightweight. The "bad" ... Suction is at best lack lustre especially if you want to pick up anything bigger than a crumb. Objects such as the very smallest "gum nuts" (2-3mm across) and bits of leaves or grass will be happily ejected backwards across the floor by the powered head. The base of the waste trap randomly drops open throwing it's contents on the floor for you to pick up all over again. Th...Read more
ere does not appear to be a fault as such just the catch does not always engage fully. Lastly the battery life.... when new we got 20mins run time, after 2 years we are down to 10 -12 mins so not enough time to vacuum the house in one go anymore - floor area 150sq metres. Dyson suggest buying a new battery pack at $80. Why should I after 2 years and an initial outlay of $459. Conclusion - keep your money and purchase a good old fashioned bagless pull along with a 1200-1500 watt motor that comes with a 2 year warranty and you'll get much better service and value for money. You pay for the brand name which used to be synonymous with quality. I think they missed the target with this model. Will not purchase Dyson again. Sorry guys.2 comments

Hi Stewarth,
Thank you for your review.... Read more
The clear bin is removed from the machine by pressing down the bin base release lever twice, if this has been accidentally pressed again the bin may be slightly out of alignment, and this can cause it to open unexpectedly or the motorhead to temporarily loose it's electrical signal. Please remove and reattach the bin as shown here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oGiMWqs6_Yo If that does not resolve the issue or if the clear catch at the base of the bin is broken or seems loose, a replacement bin can be found here: http://shop.dyson.com.au/spare-parts/bin-965660-01 It's hard to predict the lifespan of any battery as many factors including temperature, charging, usage, storage and a multitude of other elements can affect batteries generally and although we are investing millions of dollars into research and development, no battery from any manufacturer at this stage is able to last indefinitely. We apologise for any disappointment. To discuss this further with us please email our Dyson experts at [email protected] including your contact details, a description of the issue and the machine's serial number and we will be happy to help. l as value for money ($459). At best the vacuum has been used for say 3 x 20 minute vuccum sessions per week, so over the 2 years a total of 104hrs, most of which is on floor tiles. For the battery life to have declined to around half it's original capacity after such little use is disappointing. I was a Dyson fan having owned one of the original Dyson upright cleaners in the UK, but the simple fact that the V6 spits anything larger than about 3mm across the floor behind you, in my humble opinion fails the basic test of what a vacuum is all about. Yes the convenience of no cable to pull around is great but not when it takes twice as long to do the job! Kind regards. StewartSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Handy
Very handy and easy to use. very good in small space. I have some experiences with other brands and types. However, it was the best one. I highly recommend this product, especially for the persons who live in a unit and dont, have lots of space. It is cheap and handy.

my wife loves it ...peace and harmony!!
Due to cost/budget, have put off buying a dyson for decades, Now my wife says she should never have been without one....light and powerful, takes up no room. Bought from Harvey Norman with an extended warranty for about $40. so total of 6 yrs in all.
Works great on tiles, timber and rugs..not the dog hair model, but no problems with the small amount of hair sometimes around. greatest advantage is quick use when littlies leave biscuit crumbs around when visiting...greatest disadvantage is limited amount of time to use on max. speed when charged.

I bought a dyson v6 from Target in August. In November it stopped working completely. After troubleshooting and calling the hotline it was determined the battery was dead. So, I have been waiting For a month for the new battery. I have called a few times and am told it will take 10-15 days.
Called today and the gentleman told me the same thing. So, I decided its going back to Target. Ill get my money back and choose a vacuum whose battery will last longer than 3 months. I'm sad because I liked it.
Question is how long should the battery last?
1 answer
Dyson Team ..Dyson
Hi Jack,
Thank you for your query.
How long you will get out of a battery is individual to each user as there are too many variables to give an estimate. As such, while some Dyson Owners may need to replace their batteries after a shorter time period, others may experience the one battery lasting a number of years. Be assured we handle everything on case by case when Dyson Owners are in touch with us.
I am sorry you are yet to receive your battery, we would expect the battery to arrive within 7 working days as the V6 battery is in stock. We would value the opportunity to look into this and encourage you to email [email protected] so we can get this sorted for you.
Best wishes,
Shan
