With moderate use, the filter clogs up easily and simply washing it doesn't help in cleaning it. It really needs a deep clean or a replacement filter. Not really 'lifetime' at all. Battery does not hold charge as well as it use to, and seems to lose its capacity quicker than a similar LG stickvax we have. Replacement battery is expensive.

I use this on my tiled floor that also has a large carpet rug. So quick and easy to use as I will give the floor a quick vacuum every day with no hassle. Its also very light and easy to clean. Love my Dyson and will be getting another when needed.

When I bought this product I was very happy with the faster cleaning it provided but after 1 and a half year's motorhead's rotar broke. Called Dyson support, they said a new motorhead is required and I spent $125 for new motorhead. I also purchased few more accessories worth $100 on top of original price of $399. Now just after two years battery has died down. Dyson is asking for another $85 for new battery. What an expensive piece of engineering which only provide service for two and and half year. I have to take out my older $50 corded vacuum which is still going solid.

I use my Dyson on laminate wood floors. It doesn't suck as well as other cheaper brands I have found and have had issues with the head, e.g. parts coming loose. But is a good choice for a 2nd vacuum for a quick run over the floors and spot clean

We use the Dyson on tiles, carpet and even our sofa! We recently got a puppy & the Dyson has been great to pick up his fur! It is also the perfect size to vacuum the stairs! We would highly recommend this product to anyone who is after an effective vacuum. The money is definitely worth it! Love Love Love!

Great vacuum for around the house and doing the car etc. Suction is great, I hate that the maximum suction option only lasts a short time (about 7 mins) but the general speed is fine for most things and the battery life goes around the house once or twice before needing charge. when using on thicker shaggy rugs you do need the maximum suction speed so gotta rush to get it done but the vacuum is affordable and handles well so I’m not sorry about the purchase. One thing I do hate, when vacuuming for awhile your finger gets sore from holding the trigger, a switch/holding lock would have been nice.
All in all, a solid vac.

This vacuum is amazing in so many ways. It's small and fits perfectly in my home and cleans amazingly. It's easy to use and has such strong suction. It makes me want to do the vacuuming the whole time! Would never be able to go back to using a different vacuum now.

I use my Dyson on carpet as well as laminate flooring. It performs well on any surface and you’ll be amazed at its suction. Our floors have never been cleaner!!
It’s so easy to manoeuvre and easy to empty.
I’ve had mine nearly 2 years...worth every cent. It actually makes vacuuming less of a chore...love it.

I use this product on tile. I find that if your trying to suck up anything larger than say half a tic tac. Your going to have a bad time. The brushes often just flick larger pieces around the floor meaning you have to go over certain spots again. Idea is brilliant. Just not designed to pick up larger items. Brushes easily clogged with hair. And you don’t really get a powerful clean on carpets.

It's really easy to not have to plug a cord in and it works quite well to vacuum an entire small apartment, (2 bedroom). It doesn't always work well picking up large particles on hard floors because the spinning thing just pushes it away. In general it is quite good though. The max mode is good for anything that is more difficult to get up.

I mainly use this vacuum on carpets, on turbo mode it does a great job but on normal mode, yes it lasts longer but the clean is not that great. It has a long charge time and usage time is too short, i regret making this purchase and do not recommend it to others.

I use this on both carpet and tile, is a good product for picking up small spills or small areas, has problems picking up objects bigger than crumb size, seems to pulse on and off if hair becomes wrapped around the roller so needs regular cleaning. Doesn't pick up dust along skirting boards well, even without the head attached. Like I said, good for small areas but as far as using it for your regular household size vacuum, I would definitely use a better and bigger model

This is a great product it makes vacuuming so much easier. It is powerful and it’s great not to have to worry about the cord. It is so easy to clean out afterwards. The only down side is that the battery only lasts for 20 mins but I kind of like that feature as it limits the time I spend on vacuuming and increases time for relaxing!

I love this vacuum! It makes me actually enjoy vacuuming because it is so easy to use and does such a good job. I have stopped using my corded Dyson animal vacuum because it’s too annoying getting it out and setting it up. This vacuum I just pull out for quick spills or do a whole house vacuum. I wish the battery lasted longer which is why I am waiting for it to die or break and I will be purchasing the new v10 with longer battery and a bigger dust bin cavity.

I own a floor Dyson vacuum ( which is awesome approx 7 yrs old & still going trumps ) but was never interested in the stick vacuum as i was concerned about the weight in the wrist area with these, but after seeing the great deals on the V6 i decided to give it a go when my electrolux stick vac broke down (5 yrs old mind you, so happy with that). This V6 has better suction straight up, you can see when it needs an empty & you can remove the long handle & do small jobs with the nozzle and it doesn't seem to bother my wrist all all :O I love It.... Great Vaccume with excellent battery life. Perfect for at home use with great suction. Definitely a lot quieter than other vaccumes I have bought in the past. You will find that your Dyson is a little more expensive than other brands, but is definitely worth the investment for reliable product.

I have wooden floors and it's easy to move around and makes cleaning simpler. My friends have used it to and borrow it quite a lot. So it can be used on carpeted areas as well. I find it easy to clean with and light weight and motor is quiet

We were slowly eyeing off the Dysons over the past year or so. We wanted one but we didn't want to pay $700 or so for a battery powered vacuum, no matter how good the engineering. Dyson suddenly dropped the price of the V6 because the newly design V10 is out now - we scored one for only $299 which is half what they used to cost - bargain!
We had the general idea about using it as my sister has one, but having it at home and just using it whenever required is great. It has real quality feel to it and almost a laser gun design with the grip handle and trigger (ok not a laser gun but its fun to use!) Good suction power (boost is awesome) and reasonable battery life. Not as good as the new V10 but we are happy!

Pros:
+ The unit is very light and looks goof
+ The included mounting bracket works well and makes it easy to ensure it is always charged
+ Initially the suction power was pretty good.
+ Simple to empty and clean.

Cons:

+ Struggles with thick carpets or larger kitchen dirt (I have not tried the motorised replacement head)
+ Filter seems to get clogged very easily, and now it is at the point where after 15+ minutes of vacuuming, the vacuum will start and stop continuously.
