Not worth the hassle

Cannot judge the customer service, there isn’t any, had a exchange gas bottle delivered and swapped in March, as this is the second bottle that is swapped over when the primary is empty, we have just swapped over to it and it is empty, I have called Elgas and have been told it will cost me $85 for emergency order, I then checked out cctv and yes a bottle was delivered...... delivered and swapped in 50 seconds, out of the truck into the ground pushed around the back swapped and pulled back out the front and into the truck in 50 seconds, I asked to speak with the manager, but was told there was no managers on site, the solution for the Custer service rep, just use your BBQ bottle untill this is sorted but could take up 5 days

Price to pay?

Called Elgas to place an order for 1 x 45Kg LPG cylinder and was quoted a price of $144.57
Requested a better price and was offered $20.00 discount on my next 5 deliveries including this delivery.
Received account for $139.03
The actual discount was $18.18 which was subtracted from the $144.57 equals $126.39 then GST added which came to a total cost of $139.03
So my actual saving was $5.54
I emailed Elgas lodging my complaint as stated above and have had no response at all.
After 30 years doing business with this company their customer focus has gone up in flames.
Bye bye Elgas, lucky we have a choice of retailers.

Long time customer

Been with Elgas for many years always paid on time stuck with them even when they tried to charge me for 2 gas bottles. First time I have financial problems so I tried to pay my bottle off just to be hit with a late fee, explained I’m having problems at the moment, asked about using my vouchers was told I could only use them when ordering a bottle would of helped if I new that before ordering my bottles. Been sent letters saying they going to take my bottle and now been hit with a cod

Simple word if you can't deliver on the date that you give to your customers at least give as a call if your service is poor do not build your business, everyone should know the different of customers and business, as a customer we dont have a time for you guys to waste our hours and a whole day waiting for your delivery and no one show up, and when we call your number everyone doesn't know what's going on, communication and dealing with you guys are very very very poor

Ordered an LPG cylinder. Said in notes to make sure my three empties were taken away.
On Tuesday.
Delivery day is Friday.
Get to today (Friday), no gas.
Check the bottles outside - only my three empties still there.
Check they are actually empty. Yes. Empty. Double check with turning on off, tapping and hot water test. Empty. Try lifting them to triple check. All three light as a feather. 100% empty.
Call Elgas. Tell me its been delivered and I lying. This goes on for three operators.
Disgusting. Ill be switching providers.

Ridiculous complicated and expensive

Elgas make life difficult and theyre more expensive with there 94 dollars a year bottle hire charge. Go to Kleen heat who come in a truck and deliver gas on time

I'm disgusted with the service of elgas

I made a gas order on Monday evening it is now Friday I have my children for the weekend and should have received my gas by Friday considering my email clearly states 3 business days it's Friday no gas I rang them and they say it will be delivered on Monday I have 4 children to cook for and to shower and no gas I have explained this to elgas and been told too bad you have to wait I'm now switching providers I'm appalled at the fact that they do not seem to care how I shower and feed my kids with no gas

USELESS!!

Customer Service people are rude. Not helpful. No-one knows what they are talking about. We ordered gas a couple of weeks ago and they advised that we had to pay the service fee first. No bill was sent till we had to request for a gas bottle. Does anyone recommend another gas company?

Dreadful customer service

Not impressed by the customer service team. I do not appreciate being told,"Madam you must have been mistaken," when we had been speaking about my problem for the previous four minutes during which time she refused to do what I asked and then after speaking to the manager, totally changed her story and told me I was mistaken! Seriously?

Peter, I cannot answer your question as exchange 45kg cylinders are filled by weight.
My only suggestion would be to pour boiling water slowly over a "Full" cylinder and then feel the difference in temperature of the cylinder. The steel will be cooler at the liquid gas level and warmer at the vapor level.
This would give you an idea if done on a few "Full" cylinders and can be used as an indication of how much liquid gas remaining in a cylinder. Regards, MM

If that’s true it would suggest that they are filled until the scale reads a certain weight and then the filling process is stopped. I find that if I get mine refilled at a filling station they are heavier. So that is why for the same price you get more gas when you have them refilled while you watch. Would this then be the same with large bottles at home. Should I have them refilled by a tanker instead of getting a replacement? Only problem there is I have to rent 2 bottles which then costs more.
