The quiet non-acheiver
Switched to Elysian due to their better rates. Upon received notice of their enormous price hike I jumped ship to a better electricity retailer only to find Elysian we’re tardy in allowing my change and charged me excessively for my last period with them. Unscrupulous at best, downright dodgy at worst.

They went bust!
The company went bankrupt! They staged a huge price increase a few weeks before turning to the receivers so customers who hadn't switched quickly lost more money. I switched quickly but still lost some money.

Price Gouging
I have valued elysian as a retailer with good rates and below average customer contact. During recent price revision, this organization went from saint to devil. I found that my power maximiser changed to solar maximiser. then they applied an artificial rate plan which I had not seen anywhere. It looks like i was targeted to be charged to fatten the invoice. Elysian then refuse a new retailer i was to join by declining transfer. I waited for weeks rang the new one who tells me that my transfer wast consented to by Elysian. I contacted the ombud...
Read moresman, I was surprised within two days I git a email reply: the ombudsman has reached Elysian to rectify errors (wilful or otherwise). Elysian sent me a settlement of last bill and Elysian allowed me to a new supplier. I am in touch with Elysian, I have looked and failed to get any document that details out Vic Energy Fact Sheets format offer details on any of the rates applied to my invoice. Elysian has been placed under administrator I saw in the news a few weeks ago. Some smaller companies have gone under. It is obvious the fate Elysian had, given the low customer satisfaction and surprising acts such as what I had. I have stronger inclination to think that both Sumo and Elysian change goal posts as you modify your energy consumption using smart applications to use more power at cheap rates and push peak usage low- Transparency

Not worth the energy!
Quick and easy to join. Crickets when you need anything. Shortly after joining I had a simple question regarding solar feed in and how that would work on a fixed price plan. Well, multiple attempts to contact this company and no one could contact me back. My previous energy provider contacted me with a retention offer and I jumped at the opportunity to be with a company that actually believes in customer service. Months after cancelling I’ve now been sent an invoice to pay. Apparently a mistake on their end but it took me contacting them and mentioning the ombudsman for this to be rectified. I am still waiting for someone to call me back in regards to my initial contact…

Worse provider
Worse provider that tried to steal your money with nonsense charges.
Charged me for 2 *$145 solar maximiser while I requested written to exclude from my plan as I do not have big solar system that sell to grid. It was unsuscceful as it was their way of stealing! Charged me $295 for system that i could sell them $5 over 2 months.
No fair contract or care to hard financial situation.
Wait behind their lines for 3 hrs to make payment plan.

Price Gouging Electricity Company
Left this company due to massive increase in bill. Still trying to get my credit balance refunded back to my credit card but will only put back into a bank account. I’m sure this is not the correct refund procedure. Very hard to deal with. Stay away.

most disorganised company
1st bill - I was double-charged which took 4 phone calls and an email to sort and when they said they would call back they didn't. 2nd & 3rd bills arrived today - both stated usage & supply for 18/7 - 19/7. the plan should have been $140/month but I was charged $155/month on both bills despite the bills showing the same supply period but accrued balances - have I been charged ahead for the next month or double charged again - no idea and apparently the billing department does not have a phone number so you can't talk to them

Was great while “normal” electricity prices lasted
I moved to Elysian in March 2022 and quit in June 2022, and I would consider returning if and when their rates (and the greater electricity market!) returns to “normal”.
Sign up via their website was simple and transferring in was quick. Telephone customer service is fast and professional. I almost fell off my chair the first time I rang them as my call was answered within 2 rings! Subsequent calls - for my final bill, followed by a request for a refund of pro-rata prepaid subscription when I received my final bill - were answered just as qui...
Read moreckly. I requested a refund on Wed and the money was in my bank account 2 days later on Friday. Throughout, the customer service was warm and friendly, preserving the goodwill. Elysian’s rates are horrendously high at the moment. But to be fair to them, they did give a very early warning (27 May) which allowed me the time to shop around again. On 10 June, they followed up with another email advising the new rates and the effective date of 20 June. This solidified my decision to transfer out. I had discovered Elysian and their $80 a month prepaid subscription model for a fixed amount of day & night electricity after I used the EnergyMadeEasy website to look for a new supplier. My then supplier had changed my single rate supply to Time of Use (TOU) supply which would nearly double my yearly bill, then followed up with a rate increase and cut my solar Feed In Tariff which would increase my yearly bill by another 50%. The government website showed Elysian would provide significant savings. My son then crunched my electricity meter numbers for me which confirmed the savings, so I moved.- Transparency

Do not use them for if you're in ACT/Canberra
ACT electricity prices are currently going DOWN https://reneweconomy.com.au/acts-electricity-prices-to-fall-as-renewables-provide-shield-from-energy-market-chaos/#:~:text=Under%20the%20renewables%20policy%2C%20the,megawatt%2Dhour%20for%20wholesale%20electricity.
Elysian's rates have just gone UP from 14.3c/KWh to over 51c/KWh, supply UP from $80 per month to $120 per month, and included KWhs DOWN from 250 to 200.
This may be fine for the rest of the country, but ACT electricity is different. I tried to discuss and they just said that the increase is Australia-wide (despite the wholesale price in ACT not being affected by fossil fuel prices)

SCAM! Bait and switched prices within 2 months from $1600 to $4200 = 2.5x the initial cost !!!
Within 2 months of signing up, Elysian rates have increased from 14.2c to 51.38c per excess kWh, while the monthly quota reduced from 250 to only 200kWh! Monthly fee increased from $80 to $120!!! See attached photo.
My estimated annual bill of 8000kWH has increased from approx $1600 to $4200 which is over 2.5x as much cost!!!
Before signing up I read a few reviews about crazy price increases which sounded so outrageous I did not really believe them or thought it would not happen to me. A few months later and I get a similar price hike!
This ...
Read moreis clearly intentional BAIT & SWITCH to substantially increase prices to an unreasonable level, soon after switching to the provider. I know wholesale costs have increased but this seems deceptive and surprised if it were legal. When I get a chance I will ask check with the ACCC!- Transparency

Wish I could rate it 0 star
I just bought a property which needed a few things fixed up, decided to go with Elysian Energy as they had a flat rate of $80 a month.
I signed up online and then called to find out when I'd be getting power to the property and was told 1-2 days, which was fine. Over 2 weeks later, still no power.. Contacted them again and told them - to which they said "they didn't know".
I have had power now for 3 weeks, and have been billed for 2 months (with the first month showing no power usage at all)
They have ignored emails and complaints in regards to fixing my billing to start from when they actually organised for me to get power to the house.

Waste of my time
Elysian increased our electricity rates by 130%. No reason for this. Our estimated bill went from $1150 annually to $2750.00. I had just joined them. Waste of time. Not happy Jan.

Disappointed
Had no problems at all $80 pm subscription plan with Solar Maximiser. Price hike of peak .43c /18c; offpeak .40c/10c. Solar reduced. Subscription$135. I guess they want people to leave.

Offensive price increases
400% price increase per KWH and 200% reduction with the inclusions for prepaid energy. Surely illegal. 14 days advice with no other notifications. It’s almost as if it was a ploy to get people hooked then sink them

Absolutely obscene price hike
Apparently the plans changed some time ago (no notification) so instead of offering us the new "Power maximiser" plan at $145 for 200Kwh we were offered "The full house" at a whopping $630 for 200Kwh and then over 50c after that. This is $3.15 per Kwh instead of the usual 26c or so. How is this even legal? More than a 1000% increase? How is it legal to not have any information on your website about what rates you are charging? NOTHING! No old plans, no new plans, nothing. Needless to say I have already started the switch to Lumo.
