I was with medibank private for 3 months before cancelling my policy. Would my waiting period from medibank (the 3 months) count towards my waiting period with Frank if I were to join?

I am currently with BUPA and have been for approx. 5 years. I am looking to change to Frank. Is there any waiting period for hospital cover with Frank due to change over seeing I have already been in a fund for 5 years?

Hi Rocky, if you are transferring straight across from BUPA anything you were previously covered for, and had served waiting periods for, will not incur any new waiting periods. If you were to join Frank and be covered for a service you were not covered for previously then you would have to serve the waiting period to use just that service. This ensures you are not disadvantaged if you choose to switch funds! I didn't think that the cost of prescription was covered - be it compounding or not.
