Great system
I bought my 7.1 KW Fujitsu split system from Harvey Norman in Jan 2017. I was debating between that and a Panasonic as already have a Panasonic split installed in another room (2015 model). In the end I chose the Fujutsu and haven't looked back. The compressor is super quiet. I can't even tell it's running unless I go right up to it. The interior head unit is probably average for noise. If I set the fan speed to low however I can hardly hear it running. Noise is also consistent from the head unit. Sometimes my Panasonic makes strange n...Read more
oises. I don't have this issue with the Fujitsu. The Fujitsu remote is quite aesthetically appealing and looks a lot more sleek and modern than the Panasonic remote. However - I do think the Panasonic remote is more intuitive and nicer to use. One thing that bugs me about the Fujitsu remote is that if I want to adjust the fan speed from say level 2, clicking the fan speed button takes you straight up to level 5 and you have to scroll down to where you want. I'd like to just be able to click on the button and have it just take me to the next fan speed. At the end of the day I am pretty happy with my purchase and will buy Fujitsu again if I need more air conditioning.

Cool and confortable
So far this unit is awesome. It's very quiet and cools the room down very well on those very hot day we had this year. The unit looks fine, what more could I ask for. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another Fujitsu A/C. It was the best value A/C at the time too. Thanks

This is great I love it
This is my second Fujitsu 7.1kw split system we have one down the other end of the house and I can't fault it. It was mounted on an internal wall so the installation cost was slightly more but the result is fantastic. It is used as the sole cooling and heating source for that end of the house and it is very effective it's much quieter than our other one which is 5 years old, it also has a large range of settings for the louvers which is great. The remote is easy to use and understand I would highly recommend this unit to anyone wanting to heat and cool a large area.

A good start
This machine replaced a similar size LG product which gave us ten years of torment The Fujitsu has proven to be a quieter machine with an easier cleaning regime . Works well in current searing heat conditions and also has proven good during periods of high humidity Installation was well managed and neat

Noisy air con, Fujitsu service unimpressive
Unbelievably loud on Powerful mode or when fan is on high. Like a wind tunnel. An installer and a Fujitsu service technician both thought it was unreasonably loud. The service tech took some recordings to take back to the service centre to further investigate. After a long wait (months) I followed up and was told that this unit is supposed to be this loud and if I was unhappy I could possibly return it to Good Guys. Obviously uninstalling and returning an air con unit in the height of a Brisbane summer was more hassle than it was worth so we kep...Read more
t it. Recently called the service techs again upon discovering the ion filters were not in the unit. Was told their weren't any filters. When I quoted the manual the guy told me they must have been thrown out by the installer because they don't do anything, so I could contact the installer or buy the parts. I'm not sure if this is just the Brisbane branch but the service (and attitude) is woeful. I couldn't possibly recommend the unit or Fujitsu. As far as cooling capacity goes I would not recommend this unit for mid to large size spaces.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Our new fujitsu aircon exploded
About the first time the Fijitsu was turned on in heat mode it exploded, frightened the hell out of our granddaughter, flammable gas came out and oil ran down the wall. On checking the Fujitsu technician said Fujitsu were no longer using flared joints on the copper pipes. Fujitsu advised there would be no cost to repair the damage. Just as well ! The installer came out and welded in new pipes and installed flared joints on both the thick and thin copper pipes. Next Fujitsu sent out a Technician to replace the lost gas. What a performance. We would not recommend a Fujitsu aircon.

Wish I had bought a different brand
I purchased the Fujitsu in December 2013, and have been rather disappointed ever since. I only have a small apartment (42 square meters with the bedroom door open, 30 with the door closed), and it was struggling to keep my apartment cool. The installers (Octopuss, who are recommended by Harvey Norman and absolutely hopeless) arrived without the correct tools to install it, but managed to fit it anyway. I persevered with it through the 2013/2014 Summer, but this year I decided to have it looked at, as it it was not working correctly. The install...Read more
ers came back to check it and said there was nothing wrong with it (even though I had to have it set to 18 degrees and full blast to keep the place cool) and left without doing anything. I then contacted Fujitsu, who were very helpful and organised an inspection under warranty. They found that the unit had not been installed correctly, and gas had escaped. They regassed the unit and confirmed it was now working correctly. I though this would be the end of all the problems (and there have been no further mechanical issues), however, I still believe that the unit should work better than it does. Yes it's quiet, and eventually get the apartment to an acceptable temperature after a couple of hours, but only when it is set to 20-21 degrees. Any higher than that and I am sticking to the couch. And I still have to use a pedestal fan to blow cool air into the bedroom. It works ok, but for the price and specifications I would have expected something much better. I was told when purchasing the unit, and by the installers, that I did not need such a powerful unit for such a small space, but I went ahead and bought the most powerful (7.1kw) in the range anyway. I believe the issue lies with the new type of refrigerant that is used, called R32. In my opinion is doesn't work as well as other air-conditioners running the older gas type R134a. My old unit (a different brand, Airwell) was less powerful (5.0kw) but would freeze you if set to anything less than 23 degrees. I only replaced my old unit as the Airwell one died after 10 years of service. I really wish I had bought a Panasonic or Samsung instead. January 2nd 2022 Update: Waste of money I have reviewed this air conditioner before (about 2 years after I purchased it), and at the time gave it 3 stars due to it's inability to cool my (quite small) apartment. After 5 years, 2 inspections by Fujitsu, and professional cleaning, I am back to report that this is the WORST product I have ever wasted my hard earned money on. I still cannot comprehend how a 7.1kw unit struggles to cool an apartment living area of approximately 18 square meters. The Fujitsu technicians tell me there is nothing wrong with it, (the last one going so far as to suggest that it's the positioning of the head unit - funny it didn't bother the 5.0kw Airwell system that was there before it), yet I fail to understand how I have to have it set to 20 degrees or less, and yes, the apartment get's cooler than outside, but barely gets cooler than 26 degrees inside, which is just ridiculous. When set to anything above 21 degrees you may as well sit outside in the sun as it won't effectively cool anything. So I have it set on most days to 20 degrees or less, while it stays on full fan speed mode, roaring away loudly, until the outside unit overheats and switches off for a good 10-15 minutes to cool down, before starting the whole cycle again. I absolutely dread when Summer rolls around as the Fujitsu air conditioner is barely any help. I am hoping this will be the last Summer I have to tolerate this piece of junk before I can afford a new (and different branded) air conditioner, and throw the current one in the garbage. Absolute waste of money, I do not recommend at all.2 comments

If you find fault in this AC, you can find fault in Shakespeare
This is the best AC I have ever used. It competes an internal drying cycle (don't believe what less educated people may tell you). It is quiet and possess a huge amount of cooling and heating power. It is very user friendly and cools our large, open-planned room very quickly. Could not be happier.

Not my favorite air conditioner
I'm going to write this review as I have had experience with both this unit and it's main competitor the Panasonic cs/cue24pkr. One (I feel ) critical feature that the Panasonic's now have is a drying cycle on shut down....this means, when you turn the unit off the air con, it goes into slow fan and points the louvers straight down to the floor and runs on fan for about 5 minutes to dry the condenser out. Every split aircon I have come across in my life that is about 5 years old or more suffer from mould ingress in the fan unit and internals. T...Read more
his is because when you shut a spit down after it has been hard at work there is a certain amount of moisture in the internals. Mould is a seriously bad situation to have in an airconditioner and is extreme health risk. When we arrived at good guys Osbourne park and we found that futjitsu were on special and at the same price as Panasonic ( normally they are more expensive ) I have always wanted to try Australia's favorite air conditioner and I like the fact that the unit runs all DC compressor and electrics, I then asked the sales lady a critical question, does the Fujitsu dry itself out after turning itself off....she stated that all air conditioners do this. This was specific as I was buying this unit to replace a 6kw futijtsu that was in our new house we brought and found that it was FULL of mould and smelt like fish. After the sales lady being completely sure that the Fujitsu would complete a dying cycle after shutdown, we made the mistake of choosing the Fujitsu over the Panasonic. Well, the drying cycle is NOT a feature of the Fujitsu, it's no quieter both internal and external than the Panasonic (if anything the Fujitsu is louder )and the remote on the Fujitsu is not as good as the Panasonic. If u want to direct the louvers left or right on the Fujitsu you have to go right up to the unit and watch the louvers as you press the button to work out where the air is going. On the Panasonic remote it has a display of the louvers so you know where they are pointing at a glance. And also the Fujitsu has a very small ability to direct air left or right! The Panasonic can direct air in any corner of the room with ease. I also feel that the Fujitsu has less cooling power than the equivalent Panasonic unit. Take my word for it ....... Panasonic should be Australia's favorite aircon not Fujitsu ..... Disappointed All DC compressor and electrics Pathetic remote and no drying cycle on shutdown. Loud indoor unit. Not able to direct air effectivelySimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Hello Jason. The 7.1 kW sure is a powerful one ! I also reckon you get an expert to give an opinion. If you get the wrong one your electricity bill could be astronomical!!

Hi Liz, Yes you can turn it off if you are not going to use it but please keep in mind that you will need to give it time, at least a few hours before you use it when you turn it back on.
Shaun J.asked
Hi my internal unit turns off after about 2 hours usage and has error A3, 10 operation indicator (green light) and 3 timer indicator (orange light) flashes, I can turn it off at the main power supply outside for 5-10 minutes and it works for a short period again, is this a common issue with these units .
