I love it, sure i would love a big cafe style machine, but as our at home machine (and being someone who likes to be 'hands on' with coffeee making) it is brilliant. Strongly recommended
Simple machine, easy to use and produces a great coffee everytime I use it
Steam pressure could be better, but 4 coffees can still be turned out without too much fuss

All visitors comment on the coffee when they visit. People look forward to drinking delish coffee when they come to our place. Only draw back is I now have LOTS of coffee to make when everyone comes over. I use fairtrade organic coffee from coffee shops that is roasted on sight, otherwise I use fairtrade organic from safeway. I don't use the frother as I microwave the milk prior to pouring the coffee in. You won't be disappointed with this machine.
Everything. Makes great coffee / crema. Easy to use, quick to heat up. Easy to clean. Small and classic look. No gimmicks just gets on with the job.

makes outstanding shots when freshly roasted and just ground coffee is used. easy to modify if you have the inclination (PID temperature control & pressure adjustment made down to 9 bar from 17). Add a steel steam arm from a Silvia and the microfoam in the milk is great. overall when these changes are made it's a great bit of kit for a first machine until you can afford or justify to get a heat exchange machine that can pour a shot and steam at the same time
finish is clean and neat. solid plated brass commercial sized group handle. takes aftermarket baskets (like Synesso)
no temp or pressure control, steam arm made of plastic, boiler made from aluminium

Have had the machine for 4 years now and is still functioning beautifully unlike many other appliances bought that long ago! Makes great coffee, easy to clean, easy to use (once you know how)!
This machine makes great coffee, took a bit of practice for me, but is now very easy to use
I find the machine a bit noisy. THe milk frothing took me ages to figure out, though eventually googled the appliance and found that if you remove the longer black plastic section from the wand and leave the shortee plastic stump it is MUCH easier...also quicker to clean

Hello! I have a gagglia brera - has worked perfectly for several years. Now the light in the top left comes on to indicate that the water tanks needs to be re-filled - but it continues to come on and the machine will not work regardless of the water level in the tank. Please kindly advise! thanks,

What's with the little black plug in the bottom of the filter holder?

Hi Yve. I'm not sure what it's called but you get a better crema with it in. I have the thin end in the outlet. It's sort of like one of those widgets the put in Guinness beer.

I would like to ask..."what material is the heating tank made of?..I had a coffee gaggia in the 1980's and after about 12 years the electrics went all brittle so I decided to tear it apart to check the heating tank..lo and behold it was aluminium and was corroded badly and there was tons of aluminium dust at the bottom..this is what I was drinking?
I hope before you purchase one ask if the heating tank is alum.. or stainless. Go for stainless if you can get it.
I am Italian born.

Mine is alloy. I believe they are now stainless steel.
