Convenience and Power

published

Delivery was very fast. Fired up quickly, less than the 20 pulls suggested. . Large sump oil capacity and an oil filter unusual on small capacity units . Quiet operation. Will run my house during cyclone and other adverse weather events (less air conditioners of course). Also fit in to motorhome to carry for those occasions when camped up in cloudy weather. Highly recommended. Thank you for your great serviceand product.

Extremely good price & product compared to opposition, Impressed with reviews

published

Generator arrived in two days, started well, runs nice and is everything Outbax said it would be, yet to really load it up but am very confident the Gentrax will deliver the power our caravan needs. If there is a negative it could only be the fact it is little noisier then opposition but not to bad.

Excellent

First time ever having a generator. Did everything it said to do. Instructions are easy to follow. First pull and started up. Brilliant. Will be great as a back up for the solar and those days when no sun or raining. It's nice and quiet. Travelling away shortly so will be great to try out all the features.

Did the job

published

Used for free camping, the wife needed her coffee pod machine, happy wife happy life! powered the pod machine (950w) and milk frother (500w) simultaniously. the kettle loaded it up a bit, didnt try running all three at once. Also ran the nutri bullet (1000w) Bit noisey under load but for the money and the amount we will use it, good value.

Great Generator

published

This easy to set up generator will be handy to top up batteries when the sun doesnt shine. Also it will be handy to run the sandwich maker, electric skillet, electric jug, the fan heater and the toaster as required and maybe a future Air Conditioner. It was a great price. Although not as quiet as a Honda it is not too noisy especially when used with a long extension cord. Super fast delivery (Ordered Sunday, arrived Tuesday to a rural town address).

Should do the job!

published

Generator was purchased for use when we have no electricity in the Top End. When plugged into my main powerboard the generator should be able to power my fans, fridges, lights and possibly an air conditioner. Haven't had a chance to fully test out the generator yet, but it should do the job nicely.

Great value for money

While we have only had the item for a short time it appears to be a great asset we will use it for camping trips and also to power the house during our frequent outages. The service from you was great thanks for a fast delivery and prompt feedback. Tom Whyte

Winter is coming, less sun.

published

Plan to free camp a lot with our caravan. 12 volt system with solar panel is great but need that extra boost for Winter. Yippee, we can run the heater, microwave and more on those cold days. Just need to run in before the cold sets in. Can’t wait for our next weekend away.

Questionable

published

Well, I got my Gentrax 3.50000. Was a bit of a spontaneous purchase on eBay, one I already regret. Delivery was good. The product is good to charge electric tooth brush in case of power outage, don’t expect a lot more ! It is a bit noisy. I
Wish I had of read the reviews before hand and realised that so many of them were probably not the real deal. Anyway, my recommendation for anyone thinking about buying this product: 1. Read the reviews and spot the similar language and words and decide for yourself if they are legitimate 2. Save up a bit more cash and invest in a better quality generator that will power more than your transistor radio

This is a perfect fit for our caravan generatior box.

Easy to get set up and start using. It worked quickly with no hassles and had everything running perfectly. Tv, fridge, microwave etc.
No trouble so far and is covered by warranty which is great if something does go wrong.
Would recommend to others, and would purchase again if needed.

first impressions good !! first started within a few pulls and reasonably quiet, sure no Honda but at 1/4 of the price and 50% more output this unit can be used as a standby at home.

affordable quality

First generator I have owned. Powers caravan AC and Microwave simultaneously without any issue. Seems quiet enough and fairly light for a 3.5kw. Seems a no-brainer when it is almost a quarter of the cost of the bigger brands but the bigger brands would be hard pressed to be 4 times better in performance.

Great Product

published

Took a long time studying available Generators looking at Price, Noise and ability to do the job I was looking for. I have had the Gentrax3.5 for two weeks and put it through its passes the noise level is only slightly higher than the high end of the market, it starts and runs the Aircon in my caravan as well as microwave & coffee machine (note not all at the same time a bit to much to ask from any generator) weight is comparable to a 2.2kve top brand @ 28kg and 30% of the price.

Value for money

Researched and compared to others The Gentrax 3.5 kw inverter I am very happy with my choice. Good value for the money. Used it over the long weekend, worked a treat. Not too big, so doesn't get in the way and easy to fill and handle. Wife was happy as it wasn't too loud.

We would just like to say that the Gentrax 3.5kW camping inverter is exactly what our home needed,
due to lots of blackouts in our area.
Great service. Works perfect for our needs. Exactly as described and better than we expected it to be.
The Gentrax is quieter than we expected it to be and very easy to use.

Outbaxcamping don't just sell great products like this genny, but ship it super fast. Well done....
3.5 KVA is quiet for its size and supplies a perfect 239 volts. Happy to plug the house in to it when
ever the need arises which is pretty often out here in the " nearly" bush.

Manual says it needs high detergent SAW 10W30 which I cannot find anywhere, is it a mis-print for SAE 10W30? any recommended oils as I'm struggling to find anything I feel safe putting in it to fire up, also cannot work out how to put oil in!!!!

That is what I thought so I used a good quality Sae30 engine oil which is used in most 4 stroke stationary engines I live in WA so 10w30 is probably not so important

Dave
Dave

Most mineral oils are of reasonably high detergent content, so any quality 10/30 oil will do the job. The purpose of the instruction is to warn you against using any non-detergent synthetic oils, which while of higher quality, don't have the ability to prevent sludge build-up

Dave do you work, or own outback or another firm that sells this rubbish. you keep stating the owner of the genet must pay the freight I have stated this is not correct many times, but still you persist.

outback covered all freight at my insistence, to, and return of replacement unit from cairns Queensland to Sydney after I pointed out aust warrenty law, if they were in the right they would not of payed shurly.

still mucked me around cream deluxe, with not doing anything correct with freight company but long story short,... I didn't pay a dime and neither should any one else after seller concedes/ concludes, matter can not be fixed online or over the phone and unit requires return to base. and there total lack of service support for customer to drop unit off for repair. in there local area.

I now have a Honda 2.2 and kick myself for wasting time with Briggs and straiten, and other Chinese rubbish.... all though the Honda is now made in Thailand, not japan. but after 2 months is still perfect in every way.

and for anyone interested,.. can run a 1500 watt air fryer and 3... 25 amp battery chargers
all at the same time, with out any flickering of the overload light. chargers putting out around 60 to 65 amps at 12 volts.
anyway Dave thanks for helping people here... I use to as well,.... just don't know why the insistence on, they must pay the freight.

Hello. I wrote about the generator having problems..well it will not start or go at all, really needs to be sent back .... how do I do this .....need help...

Judy, if you still have the packaging that the generator arrived in, then repack it and address it to the retailer you bought it from. Sadly, as was indicated, you'll have to pay the postage, but once it's fixed, then it's posted back to you at no charge. Check a local courier and see if they are cheaper than Aust Post. Alternatively,if you have a friend with the necessary know-how, then perhaps he/she can fire sort the problem for you, or even drop it in to a local car mechanic, they'll have the knowledge to get it going.
