Good ambience, good service, no pressure.
No argon preservation so wines can be a bit tired. They use a vacu-vin type seal but I’ve never been impressed with this system. If the level in the bottle is low, it may have been opened for a day or two.
Much variation in the wines on offer but you can usually find good wines at your favoured price point. Though the price points seem to increased over the years.
More bottle shops should get involved in wine education. It’s a very honest approach.
Product delivered as purchased, but the follow up sales calls are relentless despite not wanting any of it. The use of multiple different numbers so circumvent call blocker is just petty.

I’ve been a long time frequent customer of Get Wines Direct, more than 10 years !
Totally satisfied, in 10 years had to return wines only twice over about 120 orders.

The wine bundles are average to low quality. I tried to contact customer service twice about a bottle of red wine that was off but no reply whatsoever using their website messaging feature. I was silly enough to put an order in with them again because they had a special discount deal last week. That order still hasn't been dispatched after several days.

Called to mornings straight at opening time. Nobody answered and waited on hold for 20 minutes. Had the manager call me who seemed to be destressed with the situation and said sorry which was nice. I asked him why promote opening times when you are not open??? I will avoid buying based on the fact nobody answers the calls. The staff are great when you can get through....

I know my wines and I know what I have been getting from Get Wines Direct is not worth the money. My most recent purchase I decided to up the $$ to see what I got and it was very disappointing. I spent $250 for a 13 bottle carton and it was a total waste of my money.
I acknowledge they will take them back if not satisfied but who wants the hassle. I expect good wine at a good price not to be screwed about sending wine back.

Average wines at a reasonable price but their aggressive telemarketing is a real turnoff,so far I have nearly ten different phone numbers in the blocked call mode and still they manage to get through.

I've been buying wine from GWD for about 10 years without any problems. I once bought some crook wine, tried 2 bottles and they emailed me a return label and sorted that out. I have had a few ordinary Cleanskins that weren't anywhere near as good as I was led to believe, but they were cheap enough to keep. But I have had cases of Exceptional Wines for less than 12 bucks, many really good cases for around 8-10 bucks/bottle, and whenever I've gone 16-20 they have been Brilliant. I've had some really good Wine Adviser's over the years who have put me on to some really Great Wines. I was a first-time buyer of this drop. It was dark purple with pleasant fruity flavour laced with spice. It was powerful and heartening. I was surprised. I bought this at a good price, its suggested price is way too high but nevertheless this is an above average wine. A true Barossa jewel that I wish to buy again at this special price from GWD.

Apparently, the person who previously had my number was a customer - i have never purchased wine online in my life. I called Get Wines Direct to ask them to stop calling (4 calls a day sometimes) and the calls did stop for a few days until today when they started ringing me from a new number - (08) 7523 8050.
My advice is DO NOT get yourself on their database as they will harass you until the day you die!
Is it really worth the cheap wine to be stalked by these guys with no option for removing yourself from their database - for life?
If you think I am exaggerating just look at other reviews online - these guys are the worst spammers in the industry - I have never experienced anything like it!
I have bought quite a lot of wine from GWD for several years. I have never had an incorrect order delivered. When I finally got around to using the returns service for the first time, for 2 wines I didn't like, I found it to be efficient, quick and absolutely no problem. I used to find their phone calls somewhat annoying, but then when I started actually talking with the salespeople, I got some very good deals and now find it handy having a particular contact person. She is very polite, respectful, and tends to phone at set, infrequent interval...

I'm particular about what I buy, as it's hard to work out the exact provenance of some of their wines - much like Dan Murphys' and in fact all the wine merchants owned by Coles & Woolies (including Cellarmasters), GWD releases quite a bit of 'own brand' wines. Love the wine and the prices. However, cold calls are enough to never purchase again. Asked twice to be taken off call list. Sometimes 5 calls a day. When would this ever actually encourage people to purchase??

I have bought well over 50 dozen wine from GWD over a 7-year period. The wines I have bought have been in the range of $7.00/btl to $30.00/btl. At least 10 dozen have been above $20/btl. Lots have been in the $17/btl price point. An equal amount have been in the $9-12/btl. They have not all been winners, but that has been on the speculators below $11/btl. The vast majority of them have been winners I would be pleased to have acquired from a bottle shop if it was another $10/btl higher in price. Some of the wines in the $15-$30 price-point space...
Read more have been outstanding and on a footing with known brands that retail at $40-$75/btl. Good cellaring pays off. The customer service has been excellent from day 1. I get the constant email blasts, and delete most of them unread. I get the occasional phone call from the rep I have chosen to continue to deal with who knows from my buying pattern what is likely to appeal, and who flags to me wines I have bought before (and like) when the price is down a few dollars/btl. A wine I have liked at $17/btl is an easy sale/re-sale when it's offered at $13/btl with free freight for example. So to a wine I have liked at $12/btl when made available at $9/btl is great to top up stocks with. There is always a little bit of buyer-beware when selecting unknown labels. It is also part of the fun. Get to know the producer a little bit, and do a 'pepsi-challenge' some offerings against older producers with big market names - you'll appreciate the long term benefit.Agreed. I stopped buying wines from GWD due to the harassment on a daily basis. I am buying wines other sellers who do not call on a daily basis.

I have asked several times to be removed from their call register but I still receive several calls a week - beyond annoying and I shan’t be using them again.
Getting wine is no problem, try returning it if is not to your liking is another matter all together
Over three weeks now with numerous calls and reminders as well as emails from us and we are still waiting for a wine collection that was not to our liking (French Chardonnay). This happened within the first day after delivery when we notified them and immediately replace the order with and alternative (Australian Chardonnay).
This was all paid for on credit-card, we were told it was policy to refund the full amount on receipt back at "Get Wines Direct" dispatch warehouse on condition no more than 2 bottles per case were consumed. We tried o...
Read morene from a case of 12 and now trying to return the remaining 11 untouched in original packaging over three weeks now and still no pick up despite numerous promises and a delivery of the replacement which only took a couple of days. Due to logistical constraints they will not do Pick up and Delivery on the same day by the same delivery van. If you advertise you will allow returns and refunds if above criteria are met you need to carry this through, it is no wonder your online feedback rating is so low. This is how you looses customers. Ordered two cases and want to return one and and happy with the second but we are now out of pocket for the first with no sign of a refund yet. Not good enough. Unhappy customer.As an add on to the above comment it finally took 6 weeks for collection to take place. I would suggest to all those considering purchase of wines online go to Naked Wines Fantastic Service across the board would highly recommend them.
Wine is good but the never ending phone calls!!! I've blocked 3 or more numbers! Asked to be taken off more times then I can remember but they just keep calling. HARASSMENT!!! And even though it's a marketing company that calls trying to get sales in the end get wines are only loosing customers!!!!!!!
My husband placed an order 22nd Oct 2017 for delivery 20th Dec in UK .... on the 8th December received a notice wines being delivered that day...
NO, NO, wrong date after 3 phone calls and a few emails managed to get a relpy by the way we are calling from Australia to UK... promised it would be sorted, so we are lead to believe, it is now the 21st and no wine delivery. This was for a very special birthday. We are extremely disappointed and will never use your company again.
I sincerely hope this has been factual and objective enough as at the moment i am extremely angry and hugely disappointed.
GWD do have some decent wines on offer from time to time at good prices. What really lets them down is the slow rate they dispatch orders. 1 week between ordering and dispatch is just too slow (and then another 5 days for delivery from Melbourne to Brisbane). Only recommend them if you are not in a hurry for wine!

Recieved a cal from them. After a couple of missed calls. Called back and spoke to one of there managers. Cant remember his name but was brilliant. Asked why the calls then ended up buying 4 cases of wine for less then $400 and what he suggested is brilliant!! I went from being annoyed by the call to enjoying the wine and the service. Deffinately buy from this guys they are polite and managed really well.

Had my order delivered that was incorrect with no explanation and have sent 3 or 4 emails outlining my issues. no reply. Must admit however that since I send the emails all the cold calls which were occurring on an almost daily basis have stopped.
Bought from them once which was a big mistake. They will bombard you with telemarketing calls non stop every single day.

on three occasions I asked to be removed from the database after being hounded by cold callers and each time they promised me they had ... only to receive another cold call the next day. I'm fairly confident they have sold my contact details to other organisations as well. Buy from a reputable online wine co (like Vinimofo or Dan Murphys) but beware of providing your contact details
