An amazing TV when you know the caveats.
I got this for $1495, not the cheapest but well worth it. I was umming and erring for around a year till I just could not deal with my aging plasma anymore. I needed something that would never IR at all regardless of what I used it for. This is not a light TV and this was a major concern for me.
I bought a trolley stand that could accommodate an 85 inch screen and 75 KGs.
Once mounted the TV is a breeze to move around which is super convenient, and the stand can hold the heavy 20KG sub too.
The 2 issues with this tv is:
Motion handling, turn th...

Stunning Picture
This has easily exceeded my expectations and is excellent value at the current price of around $1400. Stunning picture, depending on the source and your setup adjustments. Almost 3D. My wife even told me the picture is "too real". Blacks are dead black. Mostly running it with a Chromecast ultra which has better quality iView and Netflix IMHO. Comes with a separate bluetooth sub, which I don't need, but so far I'm unable to use the sub with any other bluetooth sources.

Great TV for the Price & Great Picture
I recently bought a Hisense 65SX Duel Cell last week.
I got it while it was discounted (Boxing day sales) for under $2K AUS. I noticed that it’s price has gone back up to $3360 (within 1 week).
I wouldn’t pay the full cost ($3500 before the Boxing Day discount) for this TV, but for under 2K it’s a great TV.
I notice that the small print you see in many television adds is out of focus and I cannot read it despite the TV screen being huge.
Also, whilst watching HD free to air TV, the screen/picture sometimes breaks up into small squares. But this doesn’t last for more than a couple seconds before fixing itself up.
It was really easy to connect to my internet. ...
Read moreThe TV VIDDA system has some free programs you can watch. For example, I just watched Deadly 60, but I noticed that Samsung has carefully chosen shows that were filmed in 4K. Mind you, the Deadly 60 program about Sharks & the Rainforest show really show off the Duel Cell technology and the picture quality. The TV was supposed to come with free Foxtel for 3 months, but by the time I tried to register it was too late (only a few thousand freebies and cut off date of 31/12/2020). The audio is great and that is without turning on the subwoofer. The TV audio with or without subwoofer is great at high and low volume. Most TV shows that were not filmed in 4K look really ancient on the TV. Like, I feel like that they looked better on my previous TV (I.e. shows like Law &. Order SVU, Star Trek- The Next Generation). I have tried to download certain Apps and noticed that in certain sections of the Home Screen you are required to navigate it using a triangle shaped curser using the remote control. The remote control is useless & slow and you click on the Button you want via what looks like an old-time Apple Macintosh curser! You move the curser around with the arrow & click on keys/icons such as settings, profile ect.or I have to say that this way of navigating the screen is not very good, slow & ancient. It reminded me of the first Apple Macintosh computers I used in the (late 1980’s early 1990’s). You literally control the TV with a 2D sidescroller. I was irritated using this curser because I found that if you held down the arrows (via remote control) that control the direction you want to go on the screen, the system would speed it up so fast that it would go past the key you wanted to click. Also, if you clicked the arrows one click after another, it takes for ever to get to the key you want to get to. Finally, the Browser is also operated with a 2D triangle curser. Unfortunately, despite the TV’s Duel Cell technology the Browser screen looks pretty ancient-that is, it’s very similar to an Analogue TV. It’s like a completely different television.Purchased in December 2020.

Good TV and Sound package, when on special
The colours are vivid, bright and crystal clear. The black levels from 4k content is out of this world, only when viewing from a high end 4k uhd Bluray player.
The integrated soundbar and dedicated sub woofer really makes this TV worth buying, it is absolutely awesome, great bass, and very good clarity from the speakers.
There are some known issues.
Ultra smooth motion setting's can make fast moving images and scenes appear noticeably blocky, showing pixelated artifacts.
The TV won't retain setting's between power cycles.
There was an issue, where the screen would flash black, this is fixed with a firm ware update.
Screen tearing and image ghosting was very noticeable with any smoothing settings. ...
Read moreScreen would randomly go dim or very bright and get stuck. Noticable delay, when the scenes switch quickly, resulting in duplicate images being shown on the TV briefly. Definitely noticed some kind of local dimming/blooming hunting issues, it made watching the TV distracting. The Best way to enjoy this TV is: Request the latest firmware update from hisense. Turn off Fast Boot setting, so the settings hold between power cycles. Turn ultra smooth off for all modes. Edit: after owning the TV for several months and not having received updates to correct the above problems, I ended up returning the TV. No one should pay premium prices for sub par software and firmware processing, I felt like I was beta testing the TV, I just wanted to enjoy it. Buyer beware: there is a hidden 14 day return policy between Harvey Norman and Hisense, after that HN will direct you to Hisense, who will not follow up, for month's and give you the run around. Hisense told me the Motion interpolation artefacts happened on all TVs, I don't believe this is true, as no one else reported such issues on other TV models. If the TV were below $1200 maybe it's worth buying, as the sound bar is decent and the work arounds to permanently turn Ultra smooth motion off, makes the TV somewhat usable. No one should have to fiddle to this extent with a premium TV, however.Purchased in December 2020 at Harvey Norman.
