Buyer Beware!
Excess data charge is $15 per GB. They could not give any details on the 2 GB excess data charges that incurred on the last day of my billing cycle. You also get billed 13 times in a year, whereas the rest of telcos bill you 12 time in a year. Better look elsewhere to avoid getting ripped off.

Pleased I made the change!
Very easy change over from Optus. I have excellent coverage in my area and although I don't use much data the speed-test using the Ookla App came in at 61Mbps download and 12.6Mbps upload. I'm paying $9.80 per month, unlimited calls, sms, mms, excellent value for the money I would say!

Simple, no fuss service.
I have been using this service for a month now and haven't had a single complaint. Network coverage matches my previous service, as does data- but for a lot less money. It's a no-brainer really. On the one occasion I had to contact their call centre I spoke with someone in Australia and it was a quick, pleasant experience.
I highly recommend Hive if you are looking for great coverage, decent data speeds and outstanding value for money!

As a low volume user with occasional high download needs have found no issues with this service. I want it when I need it and it is to date always there, no hassles, no fanfare and great value.

Disappointed
Customer service is good but not happy with their network as got lots of dropouts and often my phone will display no network access. Was cut off calls few times from bad network but now I'm with another network provider having no network issues at all.

I had initial complications porting over phone numbers however the staff at hive were patient and helpful. I highly recommend them.

Excellent value only pay for what you need
Hive has the best mobile plans available. I am on the $9.80 a month which is excellent value for unlimited calls and sms. Change over from my old provider took longer than I would expect but no other problems otherwise. Really excellent company would recommend to anyone that is after a good value mobile plan.

Good Company
I have only just signed up with Hive, but already the customer service I have received has been really good. The set up took a reasonable time and all went smoothly. The current cost of the plan I chose id really good value as well. Well done Hive!

A good deal for the price
Was with Optus, and while the change over was a little longer than expected, all went well and works fine with good coverage and decent speeds. I would definitely recommend to friends. The $9.80 deal is a winner.

Excellent value for the price
Not using mobile data. Making and recieving calls, no problems so far. Hive was the best, cheapest deal available, at $9.80 per month, unlimited calls, sms, mms. Have recommended it to many friends. No contract makes it simpler if I opt out.

I went to port my number from Moose Mobile.to Hive but they part of same company so can't change over to Hive from Moose.
All they did was waste about a week of my life that I can't get back.
Hive broke their contract I feel. Companies need to be upfront about these issues so.not waste people's time.

Perfect, Very Happy
I am on the 90 gig prepaid plan for $73.80 and I am really happy with Hive and their coverage and service. I am saving so much money after changing telco providers to Hive and I highly recommend them if in need of a reliable and affordable data and phone connection. I have also convinced family members to join and they are saving a lot of money also.

I thought this was a good telco but just like all the others things are not what they seem Aussie customer service only during the week not st weekend then the same people in Asia can't understand what you want told billing is at the beginning of the month yes the plan changes over but nothing comes out of bank account till over a week latter not what was told to me at the beginning smoke @mirrors is there a company that does what they say lm beginning to think not will see how this billing goes this month not as happy as l was at the start be careful you find all out first then it seems to change

We're committed to providing customers with the best support possible, so you'll only speak to someone offshore in the event of a massive influx of calls that we might experience at once. We feel it's better to answer a call quickly than to leave you on hold for too long in this case. You'll be happy to know that we're currently training new customer service representatives in our Australian office so we can keep hold times to a minimum. In regards to billing, we will wait for three days after your billing cycle resets before we autodebit your account. We do this so customers can be prepared for the autodebit, or to pay in alternative methods such as Bpay or via Auspost. Since these alternative methods can take a couple of days to process, we provide a three day period in which customers are able to pay their bill before being considered overdue. Thanks for the question. Our primary call centre is Australian based, and you'll always speak to an Australian if you call within normal work hours. After 5pm and on Saturdays we rely on our trained staff in offshore call centres to assist with calls. However, you can always request for an Australian call centre representative to call you back or to escalate your issue to.

I'm currently updating my elderly mother's phone with a senior's-friendly phone. They all seem to operate through the 3G network. If I were to purchase your $9.80 sim-only plan would the simcard be compatible with an unlocked 3G phone? (I'm specifically looking at the Olitech Easy Mate+ Seniors Mobile Phone).

Our SIMs are compatible with any 3G or 4G phone, but might be limited to one of these depending on the model. If your phone can connect to the Optus 3G network but not the 4G network, then your 3G will still work without a problem. You might run into connectivity issues in the occasional spot where the 4G coverage is much stronger than the 3G, but for most areas you'll be covered.
