Customer service and the car from hell !!!!!!!
I bought the I20 in September 2015. Few weeks later radio failed - it took them a whole week to fix it and in the process they damaged the outside frame, when I mentioned that, the guy shrugged his shoulder saying "this happens"(!!!) The first service (on warranty) was ok. Earlier in April 2018 I've noticed a strange noise coming from the engines - took it to Zapps and left there for them to check. It also needed a scheduled service. At the end of the same day they said I need to live it with them because it would take a week (!!!!!!) to find...Read more
out what the the problem is. I asked for a curtesy car = "don't have any"(!!) I said I need to get to my regular volunteering work (he shrugged his shoulders "who cares" attitude). I asked for a quote which came to $ 1300 (!!!!) After a week my husband gave them a call to check if we can collect the car. A customer service woman said the car is being washed at this moment so we can collect it this afternoon. Went there and told the customer service guy about the call, he said that the car is NOT ready, that there is something else they need to check. The woman who we spoke with admitted it was her who told us to collect the car. We walked out of the Service Department and still waiting for a call. Zapps have recently redeveloped their premises - a lot of our money were spent on it. costomer service is ZERO stars!!!!!!!!!!! I WILL NEVER GO TO ZAPPS AND NEVER BUY ANOTHER HYUNDAI.Similar opinion? Good car, shame about the service.
I bought a Kona from Keema Hyundai springwood a month ago. This was my first Hyundai, and while time will tell if there will be another, one thing is certain I will not buy another car from Keema. They made buying a new car such hard work. As soon as I'd signed up, I felt I became an annoying inconvenience. Simply getting through by phone is enough to test your patience. Must be good to run a business that doesn't need customers eh? I bought the car at Keema because it was the closest dealership to me, but the servicing will be done somewhere else, anywhere else. Does Hyundai send out customer satisfaction surveys? Or it as I suspected, they don't care once the cheque clears....

Hyundai Bartons Wynnum fake booking system
Hyundai Bartons Wynnum (QLD) has the most irresponsible and impolite staff in addition to its fake booking system. I booked an appointment to service my car at this center, I received the confirmation E-mail and SMS for my appointment. I had to leave my work 3 hours earlier and drove 40 KM to get there, but when I got there they told me that they don't work after 4 P.M. while my appointment was on 4.15 P.M. . They were really impolite and didn't even apologize for this inconvenience.

Melbourne city Hyundai and general customer service
We bought a Veloster from Melbourne City Hyundai...all went well until the baterry 'died' this was exchanged...but still the car on the same day was revving too high...and the battery light kept coming...most likely indicative of a failing alternator. On getting to the dealership they were unable to look at the car right away (understandable) but they refused to take the car off our hands and give a a loan car so we can be mobile. This car is under warranty. We spent money on the basis that it had a good reputation and that we would be looked a...Read more
fter with any warranty issues. Customer service was/Is below average telling us we have to book the car in somewhere else. With someone who has an available loan car. We are stuck before Easter..not getting to work...outside a dealership that will not help. I know this isn't indicative of all dealerships and there are probably many good ones...but Hyundai as a company should step up and honour the warranty as well as looking after the customers needs when they are inconvenienced by a fault in a near new car. Under warranty. Something to think about. We are stuck with a car that will most probably conk out any moment...with no other alternative. We regret our purchase with Hyundai.Similar opinion? Very satisfied with service
Bought a 2nd hand car from Rosebery. Was satisfied with trade in price, felt sales assistant Emerald and team were clear, honest communicators. Ultimately helped to find a deal that fit well and a car of great quality.

Pennant hills Hyundai service have to be the worst dealer I have experienced
1 First service no books stamped, had to send my wife with the books so they can stamp them.
2 Lost dash lights and right tailamp not working. Called past dealership to see if they could check it out, possible blown fuse, was told need to book it in. There were 3 service advisers at the desk at the time all looked like they were having a good time, not interested.
3 Best of all, booked in for a15,000 service on a Saturday as I very busy mid week. The same service a...Read more

Terrible service
Took i30 in for factory recall and steering check. Picked it up and there were warning lights and steering wasn't fixed. Took it to local mechanic. He said there were 5 steering failures coming up and it needed to go back to Hyundai. He recommended not driving it. Rang Hyundai. They said bring it in. Told me I had to pay for tow if I didn't feel safe. Dropped it in. Next day they told me Hyundai were at fault and entire steering column needed replacing. They said it was dangerous to drive. They refused to provide a courtesy car. They told me I ...Read more
could hire one for $50 per day. The steering column was a warranty issue. It took 4 days to get approved. Hyundai never updated me. I had to ring them every time. It took another day to fit the steering once warranty approved. When I got it back the spare key set off the alarm. They showed no interest in fixing it. Throughout Hyundai were unhelpful at best, obnoxious at worst.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Bad customer experience.
I purchased a new car last weekend. I was told that to add on back sensors, they will give me a discount from $800 to $700. On the Hyundai website, they are selling for $560. When we phoned to ask about why this was the case, they made up some story. In addition they charged me twice for number plates and said it was an invoice error, yet did not reimburse me for this and said it was the car cost. Overall, I felt lied to and felt ripped off. I understand they need to make money, but there was no respect or assurance in this process and I will not be recommending anyone to go there. An experience that should have been exciting turned to disappointment.

New car won't drive in a straight line
My wife has bought a new Tucson from our local dealership in Aspley Queensland.
From the day we drove the car out of the car yard it began pulling to the left as if it was out of alignment. We notified the dealer the following day and were told "this was a design feature of the car" what a load of crap.! We bought the car back in a few weeks later to have it rectified. We were told the car had been fixed. Surprise surprise still pulls to the left drasticly driving across lanes. We contacted Hyundai directly and were told someone would get back to us in 24 to 48 hours. 5 days later still no call.
I will never buy another Hyundai again based on this kind of customer service. Time to take it to consumer affairs.

They don't want to know you once you are out the door!
I purchased a Hyundai Accent SR in 2014 and have found it to be a bad choice. It has let me down many times and I keep going back to the Service Department for the same issues and they are never resolved...I just get told that "that model is like that!". Back tomorrow for an over inflated service and, after questioning why it cost close to $500 for the service, I was told that their mechanics charge $145 an hour!!! Not good enough Hyundai....if I could get rid of this car I would in a heartbeat! Can't wait to see that back of this car!!!

Rude salesperson loses sale!
Yesterday I went in to buy a 2017 MY18 Hyundai i30 after seeing it advertised on Carsales.com. I asked the salesperson what the new model offered, to which he had difficulty explaining. When I asked about the $1000 gift card offer which was advertised he said that discount was already applied. This was not accurately represented in the ad, so he changed the wording right there in front of me. This man was so arrogant, rude and unhelpful that I told him I would go elsewhere. I purchased my new car at another dealership that afternoon and will not return there for servicing or any other needs as I prefer good customer service and this man has no idea.

worst customer service - Peninsula Hyundai, Bankstown
We went for a service for Audio/cd head unit as it went black after 3.5 years of use on 15/11/2017. We have told that as a goodwill they will give us a new audio head unit which Hyundai head office already approved and they said it will take 2 weeks for the part to arrive from Melbourne.
I have been calling every 2nd week for update. It is now 2 months since we are waiting for a part to come from Melbourne. When i buy on ebay from Melbourne it takes 5 days to get it delivered.
We also has some recall on ix35 part.
This is worst service we have from Hyundai. I can promise none of our family and friends will buy Hyundai car again.

Hi, I just bought my first Hyundai, a Kona. I've had the car for about a month now, does Hyundai send out customer satisfaction surveys? Or is it as I suspected, they don't give a damn once the cheque has cleared.....

DEFINITELY NOT THE ONE I DEALT WITH (Zupps). When I went to pick up my car (after 9 days!) I asked the customer service guy for a car key to check what they've done, he at first didn't want to give me the key, only when I said I will not pay until I check what they've done he hesitantly handed me the key. It's been now 2 days, all seems to be ok. for now. Good luck, hope your experience will be better.

You should never go to Zupps !!
Hyundai Northside is the place to go- bought several cars from them and the service and aftercare is A+.. Sun Heo (the sales guy) even gave me a follow up call the next day and following week to see how everything with the car was going and make sure I was happy. They also sent a customer survey the day I picked up the car which was independent of that dealership.

how do you make a formal complaint to Hyundai? I can't find an email address...
2 answers
You need to go onto Hyundai australia's desktop website.
Down the bottom is a contact us section where you can select warranty etc to email them.
Always remember that you will catch many flies with honey and none with vinegar so be diplomatic and factual. I know from just a general enquiry in my case it took a month for a reply so chill for a reply.
Hope this helps :)
Many Thanks for your response.. We tried both Honey and Vinegar with no success... Judge Judy our next hope :)
Love the car though service has been so poor I could not recommend a Hyundai to anyone due to lack of service..
