6 months in and happy
A nice basic family car, easy to drive, cabin ergonomics are functional, switches etc are well laid out. It is relatively economical to run and service, hwy cycle it returns approx 7l/100km. The auto is a little excitable at times, and firm pressure will have it shifting down rapidly. Towing a small box trailer it sometimes needs to be put in sport mode as it cannot seem to decide which gear to tow in.
Its the family second vehicle, it is easy to park, has good vision from the drivers seat, reverse camera and sensors are effective, and fulfills its role as the runabout very nicely.

Love My Car
Traded in my Mazda CX-5 to the Highlander Tuscon and definately wont be looking back. Whilst the Tuscon doesnt have as much power as the CX-5 the other features made the transition really easy. Moon roof, heated and electric seats, sunroof, excellent sat nav (kicks butt over the CX-5). Probably only thing I dont like is the phone bluetooth is a bit dodgy but looks sexy, drives well and is fuel efficient.

A Great Everyday Driving Car
We upgraded to the Tuscon after driving a Nissan and the handling, engine power, turning circle, sound system and overall look of the car is much better. You can also switch the transmission to 'manual' (although there's no clutch). The Smart dashboard, navigator and reverse camera are great and the default lights really add a bit extra to the look. The interior is sleek with black upholstery and there is plenty of leg room room in the two front seats. Boot is a little small, but this makes it easier to park and so far we have been able to fit ...Read more
everything in for a week away. Have had no issues with reliability yet and seems like a good quality car - this is our first Hyundai. Also it has a rear wiper, a small detail, but really makes a difference with dirt and rain visibility.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great family car that looks stylish
Love the look of my new Tucson, the Ara blue is gorgeous to look and the head lights are very striking.
The interior on the standard is slightly cheap looking and could scratch easily over time. My 2 teens fit in the back reasonably and all seats are comfortable.
Owning the Tucson for 6 months I've found the driving great, very smooth with no problems, easy to watch your speed with a great sized dash and all the required bluetooth conductivity.
Petrol consumption is reasonable for a mid size car over short and long trips.

es are the doors are heavy and boot very heavy so difficult for my younger son to close but for the price its easy to overlook. Overall for the price point of under $30k its a great car that looks awesome.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

A reasonably priced, compact family SUV
This car is easy to drive, with a good turning circle. I particularly enjoy the reversing camera and using Apple CarPlay. Just a couple of things to remember: it's a 5 seater and there's no CD player (which is the biggest fault I think). Otherwise, it's a good balance between being spacious inside and not to bulky to drive.

Brilliant
Great car, excellent gear box and it has grunt. Love it. Interior on the Active Diesel id pretty damn good. The finish is really nice. Hyundai are the benchmark. Probe me wrong. I would have never bought one year ago but research and logical thinking wins. The engine is smooth, the suspension is perfect.

Absolutely love this vehicle. Best decision I made.
I have found this vehicle absolutely wonderful to drive. The test drive prior to purchase was the clincher to the deal. Being so quiet and smooth and good power was a deal breaker.
The Active X has 18 inch alloys with a great new design for the MY18 model but i was extremely surprised with its quietness on the highway especially on the course chip roads. Highway driving is absolutely comfortable because of this quietness and smoothness.

others. The outside style is really nice, very much a standout in the crowd, with a nice interior, if not a bland appearance but exceptionally functional. Apple CarPlay feature is fantastic and one of my other selling feature and I added other options, floor mats, blue footwell lighting, tinted windows (T35 on the front and T20 on rear glass), cuff plates, whether proof rear cargo protector and headlight protectors. Also added the Leather protection pack. The pricing was great and although through my work i had access to fleet pricing, my dealer actually undercut the price without having to push too hard on the price (although i did).1 comment

Good Car BUT Beware of Hyundai Australia Service
Good quality car but if you get a difficult problem that the dealer can't sort out then Hyundai Australia are very slow to help and refer you back to the dealer anyway. The dealer did try to resolve the problem on several occasions but was not technically proficient. After a year I gave up waiting for Hyundai to help and found the fault myself which I referred to the dealer and it was then fixed. The problem was poor radio reception. The dealer replaced the headset but that was all. I eventually found that the problem was with the shark fin antenna which has an active circuit (signal booster). The dealer then replaced the antenna. Now has good radio reception.

Love it
This car has really impressed me. I didn’t think I would notice such a difference as my previous cat was only five years old but the Tucson is much nicer to drive. Apple car play is a great feature which allow easy use of maps, calls and text messages while driving. The interior is comfortable and spacious. Only dislike about the interior is the clock is in a different spot when not using Apple car play and that’s a bit annoying. I have only had the car 3 months but so far it has been very reliable, no issues at all. Fuel effiecently is better than I expected. I get more kms per litre than I did with my Mazda 3. Overall I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend this car to anyone wanting a more affordable
SUV.

Really great and spacious
Driving of the Tucson ( Active ) is really easy. Good control on the road .There is a tyre noise to be heard whilst travelling on long roads but does not have any effect to vehicle. Very spacious legroom. Love the look and shape of the interior. The colour charcol matches well. Have had the Tucson for 4 months and found it to be reliable and cost effective.

My Third Hyundai.
Third one in three years and then its the best. The wife was awed in the size to the previous, but has taken to it like a duck to water, much better vision for parking, loads more room a real pleasure to drive. I am relegated to the old I30. We live in he Central West and drive to Sydney regularly, this car is a breeze to drive, it almost makes it a pleasure to drive in Sydney.

Reasonable family Car
The model we had is Active X. One model up from the base model. The driving experience is suprising good. Nice and smooth. It got enough power there for a quick take over, however, definitely not comparable to my V6.
We like the contemporary design of the interior, easy to clean, plenty of leg room front and back. Great amount storage room in the boot.
Love this car so far!

Amazing car, great features
Car is quiet to drive, handles very well for a SUV and provides options for extras which I have roof racks and towball.
The running costs are low compared to my previous car and holds a substantial amount of fuel for a long drive up the coast.
Only negative is the car lacks navigation system built in, the android auto play navigation which I connect with my phone isn't what I expected.

Best small SUV available
Love almost everything about this car. We chose the highlander petrol turbo model as the fuel consumption seemed more reasonable than the other models. Safety and comfort features with the top end model are really worth the extra money!
There are alot of reasons why this is a great car but this really is an 'individual needs' thing and this car ticked all the boxes for my family. For me my favourite things are:
Sunroof keeps the kids entertained (and therefore quiet)
Cross traffic alert- great when reversing out of a car space in a shopp...Read more

Great car
I bought the Tucson Active X 2 months ago and think it's a fantastic car. Quiet inside car, has leather interior which is great to wipe mess from kids.
Reasonable leg room although car seats (rear facing ones) need to be on passanger side as they can obstruct the driver seat from going back very far (only issue for long legs).
Stereo is good, reverse camera is brilliant
Good looking car, smooth drive but can't give it 5 star as I find little things like middle seat belt set up strange, and the steering wheel controls are a bit clunky for want of a better word.

Nothing good about car
Wasted $34k. Customer support is terrible. Dealer says contact Hyundai call centre & they say talk to dealer. Issue is still not resolved. Think twice if you are thinking to buy Hyundai. Because I'm stuck for five years. I wish If can get my money back.Don't expect after sales service

Great For The Price
I bought the Tucson Active 2017 Diesel for towing a small caravan.
Pros: It has a great looking design. It tows very well going up & down hills,
most of the time you could not feel the caravan. Its excellent of fuel. The inside
has a lot of leg room for passengers. I have no problem fitting 3 small kids and 2 adults
or 5 adults. The reversing camera and sensors are fantastic to have and work well.
Cons: Some of the plastic in the inside are very brittle and cheap quality, due to the
shape of the front passenger seat as you get in it f...Read more

The best car we have ever had
This car is the best we have ever had! It has only been serviced twice with no faults found what so ever. The driving position and dash layout is perfect and the passenger position is very good too. The exterior and interior finish is nothing short of first class. Tyre noise is very low too. This is the best car we have ever had. The starting and performance is nothing short of first class too.

Amazing Reliable Car
I love my new Hyundai Tucson, it has fantastic features. Very compacted vehicle, looks very stylish. Great on fuel, apple car play is great. No more CDs floating around in the car. Boot space is large.
It is very roomy, I love the dash lighting and the seats are comfortable. It definitely makes for a perfect family vehicle. Would say 10/10

Love my Tucson!
Car runs really well, have had it for 5 months and no issues to date. Good sized boot.
Tiny complaint I have is the position of the fuel light; I never see it when it comes on when I'm driving; only when I get home and lean forward to pull the key out of the ignition. Drives me crazy!

Questions & Answers
John K.asked
is the Tucson allwheel drive?
grahamasked
I might be going crazy but Im pretty sure my Highlander (2017) version has the idle stop and go feature however when I went to drive the car today it was running a little weird and I realised that the feature wasnt engaging. So I have two questions 1) does it have the feature ( or Im losing my mind) 2) if it does is there a button I may have accidentally pressed to turn it off or do I need to speak to my dealer? Thanks

Do others have problems moving the transmission from park? Mine constantly gets stuck in park, it eventually moves after a couple of mins

Hi Rod & Marion,
No I don’t mines a manual....
Hi Rod, we don’t have that issue at all, ours is a 2022 highlander, automatic.
Have you contacted your nearest Hyundai service centre to query about it? Hopefully it can be fixed for you, best of luck.
Thanks for that, Hyundai has tried to fix it but so far only partly successful
