Purchased a MiniDisplayPort to DisplayPort converter from Jaycar, Osborne Park, Perth.
It didn't work and I took it back to the store, with my receipt, for a refund.
The staff member refused my refund as I was unable to provide the original packaging.
Were they going to try to resell the faulty converter?
I have since located the original packaging (see attached pic) and yet Jaycar complaints in NSW refuse to respond to my queries for a refund.
If this is the way the CEO ([Name Removed]) wishes to conduct his business, I won't be shopping there again.

I attended the Tamworth Jaycar and received good customer service and advice in regards to what I required. When I got home I realised the Sales attendant had given me double the components I required. I returned to the store 9 days later (we live out of town) and spoke to another Sales attendant seeking to return the un-required components. After counting her fingers and realising I was two days over the 7 days, she refused to receive the return. After considerable convincing that this was not a change of mind, but a mistake on behalf of Jayca...
Read morer, she begrudgingly accepted the return and a refund. It was only $24, but the customer service, her manner and the way she explained it was appalling. She even tells me that if she is in trouble for the transaction, it will all be on me. Wow, nice. Won't be returning to Jaycar.- Product Quality

Jaycar cater mostly to hobbyists but their range of 'board level' components is quite adequate for most common projects and they have a good range of micro-controller accessories. I use their store in Osborne Park, Perth which I find excellent and it's well laid out. Very tempting. Several times they have brought goods in for me within the time promised and called me when were waiting for pick up. This is better than almost every other bricks-n-mortar business these days. The staff are helpful too. They're not pushy, they just offer suggestions...
Read more. Their range of connectors is pretty good (considering how many different types of connectors populate the electronics world!) but they're at the cheap end of the quality spectrum. A top quality Swiss made 4 pin circular plug and socket will cost you $100 from RS, but a cheapie is only $10 from Jaycar. For most experimental jobs Jaycar is fine.- Product Quality

in April 2022 I purchased a Digitech world band radio from Jaycar Pulteney street, Adelaide. I traveled around Australia for over two months in a camper van. During my travels I noticed that the display window in the radio was damaged. Today 21/6, I took my radio back to Jaycar and it was replace with a new unit without any questions. Nathan was my customer service member and I was very happy with his service. I have noticed that Jaycar has a low customer service rating. I was very satisfied in the product and the service given to me.

I have used many Jaycar stores for DIY electronics components over the past 15 years and I have found the components I am after on most occasions. Jaycar stocks components that generally would take days to order online and the staff are always helpful. I don't understand the overall poor reviews for Jaycar on this site.

When asking for the assistance after buying an inoperable product at my local store I was treated with disdain from a staff member who was obviously not interested in customer service. I left feeling very disheartened. I'd be very hesitant to shop there again and will look elsewhere from now on

When I asked a question I was met with " We can't give out advice" I tried again. " I don"t want advice I want a solution to a problem caused by you when you sold me the wrong item." 'Bring it back for a refund" "Unfortunately the item is well used now. All I want is the correct item. I don,t care about a refund." "We can"t help you" What the kids actually meant was 'we have no knowledge because we havn"t been trained" The complaints department are hopless too. Still waiting to be contacted. It's been nearly a week.

Every product I purchased has broke or stopped working with in weeks. Car phone holder second (took first one back after breaking on same day purchased), car phone charger, car charger/jump starter battery pack, phone charging cable, fan eske, and $400power pack that worked twice! Now just a paper weight as no longer charges even my phone. Every single product has broken or literally fallen to pieces or they just stopped working, won't charge, or need other parts for them to work. And because I would not become a member I have no proof of purchase because all of my receipts faded to blank. I have wasted over $1,000 and it's now they are just landfill in Australia. It should be illegal that products are made to break for profit!? So bad.

Each and every time I've been to jaycar stores around melbourne I've been greeted by staff who do not have a basic understanding of electronics. The stock is lacking for actual electronics parts and tools. And what stock they do have you can buy for 2% of the price. Better off going to altronics.

Bought a clock radio and battery at Artarmon store on 18 February. Staff very helpful and pleasant but they had trouble with processing my credit card payment. On 20 February, I found I had been charged three times for the clock. I emailed the store about the error and followed up with a phone call the next day to confirm they would refund the overcharged amount. Apparently a refund requires a return visit to the Artarmon store, or head office has to do it. Because I was not able to return to the store, details were provided to head office an...
Read mored I expected they would process my refund promptly, especially as it was Jaycar's mistake. But that was not the case. I contacted Artarmon a few more times over the next 12 days, but no refund and a few different excuses. As head office seemed to be incapable of refunding the overpayment, I had to go back to the Artarmon store with my credit card so that they could put through a refund on their credit machine. However, the refund has not yet been processed. Hours of frustration and wasted time! I feel sorry for the staff in the stores who have to deal with head office. I'll never buy anything from them again.- Product Quality

I logged on to the Jaycar website and was requested to put in my location. I put in Clovelly Park and it gave me a choice of 3 locations. I chose Clovelly Park South Australia and I got 3 locations to choose from all in New South Wales, Bondi etc. I dont think Bondi in New South Wales is near Clovelly Park in South Australia. What a useless website they have and being an electronic shop your would think they would have it right.

I recently purchased a mp3091 to replace my old mp3090 which I thought was faulty. when plugged into 240v none of my 12v applications worked. I could only get everything to work by changing switch back to 12v setting. The old mp3090 was on but no volt or amp readings were on but with new unit I do have volt readings but no amps and still the same problem, any advice would be grateful.

Read morere plenty of decent lab power supplies online for half the price. www.element14 for example... MP710086 $300 and free postage. There are a number of other sites and suppliers with equipment that is far better than the hugely overpriced slop you'll get from Jaycar.Hi, Do you have an in-expensive and DYI transformer to run 1.2v Fairy lights on 240v power supply? Do you have or can you advise how I can test these LED string lights?
