Jim’s charged $141.90 to come out and then charged $739 to unblock the sewer line which took less than 1 hour. The attending plumber used only the jet to clear the blockage and was aware that it was caused by roots in the pipe, didn’t have a working camera to check the job and the sewer line was blocked 1 week later. I got another plumber out who cleared all the roots and blockage properly which was checked with a camera witnessed by myself and charged $342.50 and were true professional tradesman. I would never recommend Jim’s to anyone.

Didn’t show up - twice
So my water was leaking out for an extra 24hrs plus we wasted a whole day waiting
charged $140 just to look at the problem
said they couldn’t cap the tap that we don’t use and then quoted over $1000 (not including the original fee) to fix the problem.
Called GC plumbers they came straight away for $50, fixed the plumbing issue for $300 including the initial $50.

I had someone come to my property and quoted a leak detection service. I had to pay $1500+ upfront to secure the booking. However the day before the works I called to cancel the booking as I have found someone way cheaper, the person on the other side of the phone confirmed with me that the booking has been cancelled and a customer service representative will be in touch with me regarding the refund.

We now have a great water heater. Would recommend this service to friends. Very friendly and helpful.

My wife booked our ducting heating to be cleaned and serviced and we paid 3000 dollars for that which was a shocked because they finished job in a 20 minutes and then when I asked how much to install additional pipe the quoted me another 1000 dollars so everything would be over 4000 dollars which is ridiculous when mymate got quoted 3500 dollars for unit installation and 6 points.If you want to save a lot of money don't call Jim's plumbers and air-conditioning experts they are overpriced and really overpriced

Brent from Jim’s was amazing.
He came out very promptly from first call for a plumbing job that really wasn’t a problem at all. Whilst on site, I noticed that they do air conditioning to. I enquired, and had someone out servicing my split systems within an hour.
Can’t argue with that!!!

Our toilet in our studio had stopped flushing a few days ago, and we called Jim's Plumbing to come by to diagnose the issue and fix the problem.

We originally asked for 3pm, we were told they would arrive between 3pm - 6pm. When it reached 5pm and no one had yet to show up, we called to check in and they guaranteed a worker to come in by 6pm. 6:05pm rolls around and a Metropolitan van finally arrives. Since posting my original review, account manager called and refunded the callout fee promptly. Thanks for that.
However I suggest the following:
1. The plumbers should have product/brand specific knowledge.
2. Include callout fee if the customer wants to go with the quote.
3. offer guarantee on repairs

We had raw sewerage leak due to a blocked drain, so it was something that needed fixing quickly.
Zak came pretty much on time and offered us two potential prices, depending on the source of the problem. He was polite and helpful and fixed the problem, even offering advice on a related leaky pipe issue.
I feel the service is quite expensive though and would probably only use in an emergency like this one.

Absolutely appalled with Jims and the rubbish advertised on their website! Paid the fee to attend the job. Was told they would be here between 10 and 1pm. I had to make several phone calls to find out that they were delayed several times and in fact a 'Mr Emergency' van was going to attend to our job, at approx 6pm. Umm no thanks! Used a local business in the end who arrived within the hour at a total cost of the Jims attendance fee. What a joke. Do not fall for the fancy advertising

Tyson came out on a weekend and was able to fix multiple issues right then and there on the spot, thanks Tyson, we will recommend you to others and use again

Had actual professional like Jake who was wonderful in installing the new electric water heater. Job was done quickly with good skill and quality. Jake went through the process of installation with us.

My 81 year old parents had nipped a blue line water pipe running to an outside tap, with a spade. A $140 call out resulted in a $1,200 quote to fix, and when asked for a breakdown of the cost, he refused. After deciding the quote seemed high, their neighbour fixed the leak with a simple connector designed to connect two blue line pipes, cost ? $20. I complained to Jim’s head office and did not even get a reply or notification, nice……. I hope people read this review and look elsewhere before booking. Ripping of worried desperate pensioners is not a good business model.

-Update- Jims marketing saw this post and had their customer service contact me, they have since refunded my initial payment but no mention of what they will do regarding the incident. Below is the unedited version of my inital review, I appreciate they did get in contact with me and refunded me my money but this does not stop the people who are visiting sites doing the same things to other people.

We will recommend him to friends and family and appreciated his prompt arrival and can do attitude.

I've heard they do high quality work, but the price range will typically be in the higher bracket. If you're okay with that go for it, but you could probably find a cheaper local plumber who could do a good job without the call out fee

I mistakenly chose Jim's plumbing for a job before reading any reviews which was very unusual for me. So I got sucked in to paying a non-refundable $140 call out fee to give me a price on repairing or replacing a gas hot water system. They guy said that it would not be worth repairing and gave me an astonishing price of $4500 to replace. I know the unit is $800-$900 so who would pay well over 3K for installation? Very disappointed when calling for an emergency service due to a raw sewage leak, booking it in for the following day, have the first time postponed for the afternoon and the reaching the end of day for booking to be cancelled.

Very poor customer service especially when this would be considered unhealthy situation to be left with for another day, not to mention the inconvenience of not beginning able to use any plumbing. Definitely no emergency service received other than answering the initial call.

Booked on Tuesday for Jim’s plumbing to come Friday (a blocked pipe to sewerage system), paid call out fee over the phone. Voicemail left by them Thursday night to ask us to call back regarding our booking. Called them first thing Friday, waited 15 minutes to be put through - to be told there was ‘miscommunication’ on Tuesday and that there would not be a technician in the area and they would have to cancel. I asked to reschedule instead and they told me earliest would be 4 - 6 weeks. Can only assume our location (Chidlow) had something to do with it and they were saying 4-6 weeks as they didn’t want the job. Shocking service, would not recommend.

Quick to respond, had Jake come out who was informative, professional, got the job done, was done quickly, did a nice and thorough full plumbing inspection.

Called Jim’s plumbing as they claim same rate 24/7. Paid $142 to book the plumber. Plumber arrives but it’s not Jim’s, it’s Metropolitan Plumbing. I had already located where my sewer line was blocked so it was an easy job to put the machine through the sewer pipe & clear the blockage. Job took approx 30 minutes. Got charged $740 so all up cost $882. I wasn’t advised that Metropolitan would be doing the job or I would have looked elsewhere. In my view somewhat dishonest business practice & way too expensive. Won’t use Jim’s again.

Firstly I booked with Jim's Plumbing, " Jims " have charge me $141 non-refundable, and I get Metropolitan Plumbing arrive ??? I got over charge by Metropolitan 3 years ago to clear and drain would have never agreed.
