I am looking to get the smaller one for making ragout...white sauce that requires a lot of stirring while adding liquid....would it mix fast enough for that and can I do that while it's running with the lid off ?

The book suggests to choose soup mode however, there is no soup mode on the menu.
Can you please advise where I can find the soup mode.

i have a thermos blend 2 and it was just starting to heat when it shut down and now there is nothing on the display screen and the red light that comes on wit is started and the beep it makes is not happening the light has turned a purple colour. do you know what this is

Yep, same thing happened to me. Since I'm a bit of a tinkerer I pulled it apart and one of the nylon wheels driving the belt had cracked, coming off the motor. It's likely the weakest link in the dr...
Read moreive mechanism, it almost seems deliberately weak (that's my conspiracy theory, anyway). Ours was around 4 years old and we binned it. Unless yours is still under warranty - or by the sounds of it even if you're still in warranty - I think you're out of luck. Sorry.
what are blade covers? I didn't get one when I bought my machine.
how do i turn off the thermoblend elite? there seems to be no power button, is it really necessary to unplug every time?
