No issues so far
Purchased a sim only plan for my daughter, have had no issues so far with the service. Only problem I have is monitoring data usage which other providers allow you to track in real-time but they do send text alerts at least. Value fir money in my opinion.

So far so good
Reliable coverage through the Telstra network.
Good rates. This was one of the reasons we chose Mate.
Good data speeds
We've only just swapped from Optus but it has been good so far.

Pretty good Mate
So far so good. Haven't had any issues yet. Though the password sent to me for increasing ringing time didn't work for me.
The service is very good and it's nice to know your speaking with someone in the country you're calling from.

No Solution For Their Wrong-Doing - Poor Service
After purchasing a SIM card that was faulty, Mate Communicate advised me they could send a replacement one for $10. It was then advised that $10 would be credited to my account after returning the faulty SIM to Mate Communicate's office, however, that would cost me $10 in postage fees regardless - a loss in any case. To make matters worse, I was further advised a replacement SIM card would take up to 5 business days to receive, leaving me without a phone service for work purposes during this period. I requested they send a replacement SIM card ...Read more
by overnight transit service, however, "it is against their policies and procedures" to do so and no discretionary decision would be determined otherwise by a 'Supervisor'. Mate Communicate are relatively good when everything is going well, however, have failed dismally to provide an adequate solution for their wrong-doing. I moved from Telstra due to lack of service - Mate Communicate, you have lowered your standards accordingly.5 comments

Hi Dino,
Thanks for confirming.... Read more
The SIM card you are currently using may be faulty however we can not prove this yet until another card is tested. If the new SIM card works then as advised, we are happy to refund the $10.00 and will also look into a further credit. SIM card failure rate is extremely rare. We can also confirm that you were not advised that you had to return the first SIM card if this was faulty - this is not required as it can simply be disposed of. There will be no cost to you for this. As you were advised, all SIM cards are sent via Australia Post Express Post and there is no faster postage method available. Express Post delivery is usually next business day depending on your area - this is controlled via Australia Post. Regards, The MATE teamSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Hi mac d.
We can confirm you can keep your existing mobile number if you sign up for one of our mobile plans.
To activate your SIM and keep your mobile number, you do so via a self activation process online, which you can complete online once you receive the SIM card here: https://www.letsbemates.com.au/activate-mobile-sim/

Hi Jacob,
We can confirm that MATE does not currently support Visual Voicemail.

Do you have any plans to support it in the future?
Vanessa S.MATE Communicate
Hi Jacob,
At this stage, this is not something that Telstra wholesale provides to us, so there are no plans for this unless Telstra does offer it to resellers.
