Love it !
We purchased a Mazda CX-5 GT in December 2016 (after having loads of problems with our previous much regretted purchase of a Kia Sportage)
The drive is lovely and smooth, very little road noise, comfortable heated seats in the front, the sat nav system is great, I haven't got lost yet, the BOSE sound system is amazing - and the MZD Connect system just works ! reversing camera, Bluetooth, onscreen SMS notifications, all great -
We got the sales assistant to add in the boot protector, bonnet protector in black, and proper Mazda CX-5 floo...Read more

Mazda are useless to deal with
The car itself is ok, good Sat Nav, comfy seats, reversing mirror. Extra Mazda features are costly and the service departments ( I have been to three different ones) are useless. Slow, expensive and ignorant. Should have bought a Hyundai - would have saved money and had better service. I have had multiple Mazda's and the service has definitely not improved. This is my last one with them as I just can't stand the Mazda team.

Great Sporty & Family Car
Handling on this machine is superb! Has got that high elevated platform on the road and not sluggish at all when taking off at the lights. Leg room is excellent at the front and back seats and can comfortably fit 2 big adults at the back or 3 regular size people. Ride is very smooth thanks to the 17" 65 tyres> Took it off-roading and the power and handling on the dirt tracks in excellent even though it had part time on demand 4WD. Boot space is excellent and with the back row of seats folded, could easily fit a dishwasher or a 10kg capacity washing machine or similar. Very good for family seats as able to fit most outdoor gear without losing any rear seating capacity! Great car overall and no regrets.

Long term review mazda cx5 2015 model.
I have been a mazda fan since the mazda 3 2012 model came out. I bought that car mazda3 hatch 2012 base model/entry level. 5 years later..(as I'm writing this) it's still going strong. The buttons are getting little loose though such as the speaker volume etc, however still works fine.
So i bought a cx5 mazds maxx sport awd 2.5ltr 2015 model. For an upgrade.
From day 1 it has been a great and fun car to drive. Smooth and perfect. The 2.5ltr awd has enough power for daily driving.
Until the car reached 20,000kms. From then on the car has be...Read more

Excellent car
The sport button is great. Very economic. The service fee is affordable. The car itself is fast and comfortable for my baby. Enough space. Only issue is the car seat cover is getting dirty easy. The spCe is huge. The navigation some times goes crazy but is good 99 percent of time

mazda CX5
The navigator is the WORST ever. May as well not even be in the car. The controls are completely non intuitive. There is NO READ OUT of your speed. Your better just using the google app or Waze for navigation
This is the MAJOR letdown in this car.
this is worse than previous model

2015 Mazda CX-5 Maxx Sport Quality issuess
Purchased new in 2015. Very happy with economy, performance, handling and size of vehicle. Was disappointed with a couple of very annoying quality issues thought. These being.
1. Sat Nav voice would not work perhaps 30% of the time. Very frustrating when navigating to an unfamiliar area. This was resolved under warranty by fixing a known issue. Nav voice unit was replaced and everything was fine after that.
2. Front windows rattled all the time no matter what position they were in. Even the slighted bump would cause rattles. Still not fixed...Read more

Awesome SUV
I have had two CX5 Akera's both are awesome vehicles, reliable and comfortable. I get 8.1/100 economy. The layout of everything in the cabin is ideal. It can take 5 adults comfortably only down side would be no ac in rear. The boot space is accomodating. I tow with it and it performs well. Strongly recommend this vehicle for families or couples.

Great safety features, v comfortable, excellent fuel consumption
This car is terrific, no complaints at all. Very comfortable interior with nice seats. Fuel consumption is amazingly low, so running costs are lower than we expected. Got used to the fuel saving mode on idle quite quickly and the instant start on removing foot from the brake pedal is effective.
The safety features such as blind spot warning and automatic maintenance of distance in cruise control are great. The car bips if it detects no hands on the steering wheel and also prompts for you to stop for a break when you are on a long drive!

Great car let down by faulty SatNav and slack after sales service
I saved hard for this car (model Maxx Sport) which came with a alloy wheels and built in Navigation system (SatNav). It wasn't cheap at $38000+
A year after purchasing and after the firmwear (like software) was updated during the first service at 10000Km the car developed a problem with the SatNav where the spoken instructions/traffic warnings could not be heard even with the sound volume on the highest.
The Mazda service department (Penrith Mazda) confirmed that there is a fault and on instructions from Mazda Australia asked for the car to b...Read more

A call to Mazda customer support revealed that Tom Tom Home is used for models up to November 2014 and (application) Mazda Toolbox is to be used for models since then. Very difficult and unsatisfactory experience.Mazda should have used Garmin SatNav application and maps as TomTom maps even when up to date are extremely out of date. Best on the market
This is the best suv that I have had, very economical, drives smoothly, great on long drives like Melbourne to Sydney. The interior is easy on the eye and can see everything right in front of you on the dashboard. I get over 600 Kim's to a tank of fuel around the city more on a long run, not expensive to have serviced either. Plenty of legroom all around front and back, just a great car.

Could've been designed better
I have the 2015 GT 2.5 petrol.
There are many reviews online telling you the pros, so I will focus on the cons here (it does not mean this car is not good). Overall a good car but i do wish mazda got a few more things right:
1. it's missing aircon vent at the back;
2, no 7-seat version. I know this car is a compact SUV but back in 2011, the similarly sized Nissan Dualis had 7-seater.
3. even the 2.5 petrol is a bit sluggish in gear changing. I understand Mazda may be trying to boost fuel economy. perhaps a 2.0 turbo version will be the best?

Inexpensive to run and comfortable
This car is not only comfortable and pretty but also very nice to drive. I love the technology that makes saving petrol something you don't even realize, very fuel efficient and ideal for big city traffic. Good size boot and comfortable back seats. All with isofix for children safety. The model I bought does not lock automatically which is very disappointing as it doesn't come with a button to do it automatically either. You have to twist the lock in the door handle which is somewhat odd and uncomfortable.
Lastly, keep an eye when stopping to cross a street or the like as the stopping system (for fuel efficiency) might activate and stop you car preventing you to start as quick as you expect during a short window.

Perfect allround car
I have had my Mazda for just under 3 mths after previously owning a VW Golf. Two noticeable differences are the seating is more firm and rigid and it is easier getting in and out of the car.Fuel economy is also reasonable coming in at around 8.8L/100km which is quite reasonable for a 1.7 tonne vehicle. The reversing camera and sat Nav with integrated wifi and voice control, gives the feeling of being in an aeroplane cockpit with al these controls and features.Absolutely love it and would recommend to anyone

LOVE IT!
The car is amazing to drive, so smooth and quiet! I love that it has electric chair adjusters which you can set so when hubby jumps in it just a press of one button and it automatically reclines to his preferred position! Cruise Control is so simple to use & the multimedia, bluetooth and access to everything you need is so simple! Voice recognition is fantastic also! The car is average on fuel to run but it is so reliable! Would recommend this car to anyone!!!

A good car
I got a new CX-5 GT and i love most of its features. The only thing that annoys me about this car is that it doesn't have one basic thing - anti-hijack. It doesn't auto locks itself when i start it or when it's moving. This feature can be found in any cheaper cars, but not in this car which boasts of automatic features such as auto headlights, auto seat adjustment etc.
Overall it's a very good car, plenty of boot space, spacious with lot of legroom. It's been just over a month and i'm enjoying it.

Love my Mazda!
This is my second Mazda SUV. I had a CX 7 before and was very happy with it, so when it was time to update, I looked at the CX 5. Love to drive it and has everything I need in a car. Running costs are better than the CX 7 so that is a bonus. I can take or leave the i-stop, and sometimes turn it off if it is annoying me. Only hiccup is that sometimes the satnav loses its voice during a trip, but it seems to reboot itself next time I start the car. Wish Mazda would do some air vents in the back seat, though!

Great car
My previous car was an 18 year old manual Toyota RAV 4 and I was very fond of it having owned it since new, but having cooked the clutch twice I decided to go for an automatic this time. The CX-5 is great although a bit of a steep learning curve for me initially, so high tech by comparison! I got the safety option and I'm very glad, it's great when I'm reversing out of my carport into the street, it alerts me if a vehicle is coming. I love the hill stop as well, it makes hills so easy. The only thing I would say is that it's a bit wide to park but the reversing camera makes that a lot easier, I use it to check if I'm within the car space lines. It has great pulling power and is so quiet, and very roomy inside.

WILL DEFINITELY PUT A SMILE ON EVERY MILE
Driving feel and handling is excellent, with 185 horses underneath the bonnet will surely put a grin on your face. It actually didn't feel like you are driving an SUV like some of the review on youtube have said. It felt like you were driving a sports car with all the interior features makes you feel like driving a luxury vehicle. Cabin noise is very quiet but you will still have a feel that you are driving specially when you rev the engine hard on acceleration.
Some of the things that I did not like with the interior features, one of them is ...Read more

Love the thrill of the drive
I have recently bought my first brand new car and I chose the Mazda CX5. I love this car. It handles really well with good cornering and very responsive acceleration. The sound system is impressive and my son often has the car shaking - for the base...I look forward to driving in my new Mazda and now have to beat my boys to the driver's seat as they are also eager to drive the car.

Thinking of buying a Mazda CX 5 MAXX, 2017 or 2018. How can I find out where these models have been assembled?

Ask the dealer- look at the ID plate along with VIN number on the vehicle in the showroom. Make sure you clearly indicate in writing, eg annotate in the marg8n I& need be on any sales contracts that accepting delivery will be contingent on manufacture being in a certain place. Mine made in Japan.

Hi, my 2016 Maxx sport is only getting just under 500kms per tank and I only pour premium unleaded. Does anyone have this problem and would Mazda fix this issue?

What kind of fuel economy are you getting from a 2.5 petrol? I'm looking at picking up a 2015-16 GT and in the research phase now - just want to get an idea of the 'real world' economy rather than the sticker claims which are conducted in a lab.

I did a trip to Wagga on the weekend and achieved 8 litres per 100 km for a trip total of 1900 kms which was very nice to see, when I fill the vehicle (I only use 98 octane) the range shows up as 717 km. KF 9/17 AWD model Sports.
In city fuel economy is pathetic. It's like the car's always on the 1st n 2nd gear. :(
