Went to local Woodend Mitre 10 for a pegboard as closest competitor is a 20min drive away.
Turns out the pegboard was double the price at $45 than bunnings. I mean I expected more expensive but that is outrageous. Last time I shop there.

We bought a raised aluminium garden bed from the Dural store because Bunnnings didn't have the size we wanted. When we got home, some of the parts were missing. We couldn't locate our receipt but had proof of the purchase on our bank statement. Mitre 10 would not exchange the product without the paper receipt despite the fact that we had proof of purchase. We had to return home and search for the receipt which we eventually found so drove all the way back and were able to exchange. Would never shop here again, next time we will stick to Bunnings, they have a larger range and are far more flexible with their customer service policies.

went into the mount gambier store to purchase a chainsaw that was to be on special starting that day. saw a staff member puting one into a box and asked if that was them. His reply was that it was the last one and he just sold it, when queeried that the shop had just opened he quickly changed the excuse that the warehouse had not sent any yet they were there next to him. So i walked out and i will not be going back.

The recording of credit card details is so slack at mitre 10 that it allows their staff to purchase goods on the house account using customers credit cards.
Police have been informed as have the banks but when brought to the attention of the credit policy section of Mitre 10's parent company Metcash, they fail to reply to the email.

What is with the website?.You cant search a certain item none of the catagorys make sence.Mitre 10 you need a search bar that is instore so you can search and get any specs on any products like other online hardware stores do. Its hard to be at home at night and you are wanting to see if mitre 10 has a particular product. I go to Bunnings web site as it has everything I need

I visited Mitre 10 store nearly every weekend since opening last year. The Garden area has the best service Shane and Anne are really helpful. Their product knowledge and friendly service make you leave with a smile. I wont be going to Bunnings when it opens. The stores are always dirty and staff don't know much that's why they give you a store guide because they don't know their products

I went to the Newtown Mitre 10 store where I have normally received great service. This time I had a creepy, balding middle age man who smelt of alcohol and stared at my breasts. This is not good service! Please employ staff who are not sexist and do not smell of alcohol.

Could've carried the item home on foot quicker than pathetic delivery time (which cost $$$$). Bring on Bunnings, hopefully will provide some much needed competition!!!!! Have always been poor at delivery service and time. Last time they delivered twice to two different addresses before getting it right. Ended up just walking items from the neighbours yard.
Staff were polite and at least they had what I needed.
Slow

Good range of products and helpful staff, but their prices are nowhere near as cheap as they pretend they are and I constantly find competitors with lower prices on some products. In our Mitre 10 (Paraparaumu) there is a cafe, which I find really good, and use frequently. Parking outside the store is a dogs breakfast with poor acces and muddy unsealed sections which could easily be fixed if they had a mind to.

It is a pleasure to walk into Mitre 10 and be greeted by helpful and knowledgeable Mitre 10 staff. Such a difference from "that" mega large store where you have to go looking for people to help you.

I really like Mitre 10 as they seem to have friendly welcoming staff who really know what they are talking about and are really willing to help you in regards to your latest DIY project. They are also quick to help you when you are buying something big and heavy they are quick to help with a trolley or offer to carry them for you and load them in to the car. I think the prices in store can be a little bit more expensive then that of bunnings but it is worth it for the customer service. Quality products store is clean and has a great layout.

This is a great store which has a lot of items for the home and for home renovations too. They are not expensive and have a great range of products. It literally takes a couple of hours to go thru this store, but, as mentioned above, we dont have any near us anymore :(
They are a great homewares hardware store. We bought a lot of things for our house here and my husband found a particular light bulb that he was searching for here, and he had searched everywhere for them.
Unfortunately, the one in our suburb has closed and we dont have any others near us at all. So, we dont have a store to go to anymore.
