Excellent
We tested ALL similar SUV's in this class at end of 2009. Subaru probably next best if luggage space and lack of tailgate not a concern for you. Great reviews for off road capability. Reliability excellent same as Subaru although think warranty, current service price cap and drive makes Outlander better choice. Had a Merc last time and very happy with this car. Does not compare with Merc with respect to quality of service when car being serviced i.e. no replacement car offered while car serviced. First purchase of Mitsubishi. When is does...Read more
require fixing Japanese car parts cheaper than European. Luggage space (only Honda CRV compares in this class), drop down tailgate (only one in it's class with this size engine), luxury pack great value, good price compared to competitors, good drive (liked better than CRV or Subaru), great reviews for off road, alloy roof which lowers centre of gravity hence suprisingly good drive. Believe only beaten by VW for fuel consumption, but VW service costs more over 10 yr period. 5 star NCAP with side curtain bags - real must as the last crash I drove by and had a kiddie in critical condition from side impact, they didn't have side airbags. Better reliability than Lexus n European SUV's. Not much to dislike. Bought luxury pack (2010). Only very minor but: GPS keeps asking you to 'agree' to conditions before every drive. Also leather interior is black or black...! and interior could be better (VW Tiguan and Lexus best for interior). 2010 front grill is just plain ugly. Oh - space saver tyre rather than full size.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

We love our Outlander
We LOVE our Outlander! 4 adults, 2 kids, 1 baby, stroller, bags and other paraphernalia, all fit very comfortably. Great to drive & park. LOVE the versatility of 7 seat feature, though could be designed better, very fiddly with carpet mat for boot as it goes right under 2nd row so they have to be tipped right up to get the 3rd row up. Fiddly if in a hurry but just a matter of getting used to really. Don't know who decided bright RED seat fixings was a good idea. Must be the same one who thought the incessant beeping until driver clicks se...Read more
at belt on was a good idea too. It'skids we need notification that seat belts have been removed thanks, not the driver! Irritating quick lane change indicator feature, keeps going on when I don't want it and very distracting to switch off again. But, very minor, everything else is FAB! LOVE the keyless door lock/unlock feature and bluetooth AND the in roof dvd player YAY! Smiles on kids faces while driving - worth every penny! And side curtain airbags all way to 3rd row. We were decided on a Sante fe without having seen this model outlander and fortunately discovered it at the last minute and completely changed our minds. No regrets, a great car so far (only 3 mths old). Totally recommended for families. Roomy, looks fab, great to drive, DVD, blue tooth, 7 seats, keyless features, bluetooth. quick lanechange indicator function, beeping until drive puts seatbelt on, fiddly 3rd row option

Good
Great car - not the Volvo V70 twin turbo I wanted but our customers won't accuse us of ripping them off with the Mitsi in the driveway. Only 15K cheaper though.
Paddle shift is great for overtaking road trains; sound of the V6 above 4000rpm; heated seats on cold winter mornings; awd on farm roads; hid lights; wife loves her new car.
No ipod connector (interferes with rear dvd apparently); leather seats on a summer day (41 today - still not yet 'hot' out here...); tinny doors (compared to my Toyota).

My Mitsubishi Outlander 2006 (ZG.ZH - 11.06 to 10.12) has a fuel tank level indicator problem is the problem with the sensor or the computer. When full the indication is correct but rapidly drops and at 300 kilometres shows need for refuel, but only takes 30 litres to full.
