Great but needs some tweaking
Great on the road & off road traveling.
Towing good especially with the rear camera. Lots of storage. The bed is ok just needs support at the end where you lift it up.
Purchased in May 2021 at New Age Caravans.

Perfect van for our needs
7 weeks on the road around Oz and no issues reported. ESC failed pre delivery and was replaced by the excellent team at New Age Gippsland.
We have the 16ft Adventure pack which has allowed us the freedom to free/low cost camp with ease. 220lt of water, solar, toilet. Suspenion is on the basic side so we take it very easy on dirt roads however the extra height makes a big difference over big pot holes.
Some of the lower spec items on the road owls are actually no big issue or better. The window openers are manual - no problem. The screens are to...Read more

Well designed little van with very poor finish
Bought this van as layout was modern design with nice contemporary colours however the finish was poor. Laminate lifting, tv aerial fell apart, leg stand cheap and difficult to deploy and lock back up. Power Points crooked. Yes all covered by warranty but disappointed with quality.
Purchased in January 2021 for A$50,000.00.

Delighted with our new van and the service from new age Sydney.
We bought one of the first road owls at the Sydney show at the end of October. We picked it up from the Sydney dealership in November and they could not have been more helpful, they arranged the fitting of necessary electrics on our truck, spent time going over the details of the new van and made all the paperwork super easy.
The van is a joy to tow, not too big but comfortable enough for the two of us. The queen size bed is so comfy! The air con has been tested to the full after a week in Mudgee in January and keeps the van lovely and cool ...Read more
in temperatures of 36c. The fridge freezer has ample space for us including beers and wine. Not the biggest van we have owned it has plenty of space and is well planned with lots of nice little touches like outside speakers at head height, lights in the outside lockers, 12v plug ins near the bed for charging phones, iPads,etc.... Could not recommend the New Age dealership in Sydney highly enough, delighted with the Road Owl, so much so we're going off on a 6 month tour in it later this year.Similar opinion? They must be busy making them in Melbourne. So when you need to get in contact with them ask for a discount or extras. They are putting you out so they need to compensate for the delay.

Does anyone know about the hot water system problem with the New Age road owl? An inspector has just told me that they vent carbon monoxide into the van and that they have to be removed completely. That's scary stuff, anyone been through the process of replacing under warranty, the van is just over a year old.

Suburban Recreational Vehicle Water Heaters
Models Affected:
SW6DEA
SW4DEA
SW4DECA
SW6PA
SW6DA
SW4DA
SW6DECA (Dual Fuel)
Serial Numbers From 181315552 to 193002648
Manufactured from 4 April 2018 to 1 August 2022
Ours is a model affected, however, the serial number doesnt fall within the range, so I presume we are all good, purchased van in September, 2018.
it sounds as if it's a very serious safety issue so I would definitely check with the manufacturer and get the response by email.

Hi there,
Has any one travelled in one of these to off road/remote locations?
Feedback on the suspension would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.,

We have been on a graded gravel road and had no problems.
Thanks for replying Kel, there isn’t a lot on the Internet in terms of videos or reviews for these vans. Which can be a good thing, or a bad thing.
However they do seem like good vans & the general feedback on customer service is good. We definitely need somethibg off road.
We are looking at doing the Gibb River Road in 2020. So anything with corrugated road or rough type conditions - if anyone has feedback on this? Would be muchly appreciated.
We have done the Meereni loop road with ours and it handled it well. I'd say better than others travelling with us whose caravan is worth twice as much. Road owl is a great van. We just went slow and husband had adjusted tyres. We have adventure version.
