Excellent fuel consumption from the auto. Normally around 8.6 l/100km. Comfortable on long distances. Great tourer. Not sure about the rated 3000kg towing capacity though! (more like 2.5k) 4X4 capability quite acceptable I have no need to climb mountains any more. Paint work will fade like all new cars. reversing lights are poor, even when fitted with stronger bulbs.
Great car. Drives well, comfortable with plenty of space.Fuel consumption. Looks good.
Hate the small instruments on the dash Problem with fuel gague never showing full. Apparently a commom thing for this model.

+1 on the boot mat. What sort of economy are you getting? I took mine ( 2007 ST-S) to Sydney airport and back with a round trip of 640km and after dong the math it worked out at 8.48L/100.

Great reliable car

I have a 2007 ti model and I would recommend this to anyone with a family. It has loads of room and is fairly economical on petrol due to the smaller engine size. It faults are in its power and lack of extras. But I have a manual which seems to negate the power issue and the cars features have since been upgraded in later models.
size, price and economy
Power is a bit short. CD play won't play mp3

The best car I ever owned

I bought my x trail brand new and had to sell it 200,000. Totally reliable, consistanly getting 8.5L/100km. awesome on fuel for a SUV that size. Handles great, sounds and goes great with a sports exhaust system. Very comfortable. Heaps of room. I would buy another one today if I could.
Performance, handling, reliability, fuel economy, Comfort, Standard features on the Ti, towing ability.

This car is an excellent all rounder, I love it

This car does everything I need. OK, its a bit old man for my age group, but I don't care. It is great for launching my boat off the beach, great for off roading as well. The X-Trail goes way further than you would ever expect. The clutch seems a little weak, but the engine and gearbox have been fault free thus far. ( currently on 170,000km) It is very comfortable on the road, and when off road, doesn't appear too soft at all, I have never bottomed out the suspension. Fuel economy is fine for an SUV, lots of space for rear passengers, specially when you recline the rear sits slightly.
Comfort, off road ability, reliability, versatile

X-Trail TI 2002 model +350,000km and no real roblems

published

Had since new. Have used the car for towing 17ft pop top and loaded 8x5 trailer.

Early problems with oxygen analyser but otherwise as no surprises.

Recommend dismantling to clean radiator every 100k as it gets clogged. Radiator replaced at 320k.

It has been the best car ever. Comfortable, good seating position for large driver, reasonable fuel economy on straight 91 unleaded but not on E-10 (even when towing if driven around max 2500 rpm), and I will be buying another in 2012.
Seating comfort, seating position, overall economy, towing characteristics.

Mine is an early model 2003 4 door, bought it at 79k on the clock in 08 and had a full service replaced all belts and lubes and fitted a new battery and BTA towbar. The car has been great for work and play. took us up through lake mungo nat park last chrismas, now at 125 k it hasnt missed a beat. I did get used to the centre mounted dash in about 3 mins. fuel eco is good a bit thursty when in 4wheel lock.
id by another xtrail whithout hesitation
ergonimic and comfortable to drive and ride in,
no mat in the back, I cut one from some carpet, vision when reversing, needs sensors or camera, I fitted a reversing beeper tells the kids to get out the way

This exxy has now been written off with severe hail damage (6cm diameter stones). Have since purchased a 2010 ST-L manual. Some improvements such as better cornering but I would have the old one any day.

I love my X-trail, I have the Ti model with the huge sunroof and leather seats. Rides fantastically well and easy to park and drive on any road surface. The centre dials were strange to get used to at first but makes seeing over the bonnet much easier for short people like me. Very comfortable for passengers as well. Loved the boot door how it opened up in one part and is so easy to close one handed, a must with 3 kids. The stacker CD player, cold drink holders are all luxuries.
Great to drive, great looking, fantiastic boot space and love the boot door.

I have a 2002 Nissan xtrail It has blown the Head gasket. I have spent a lot of money of late repairing the suspension, new tyres brakes and rotars front and back. I have also had the motor reconditioned once before. Do I get the head gasket repaired or do I get a motor from the wreckers for around $900 to install will cost me approximately $1600
