Anyone had any issues with a squeak in the front wheels? Or anything wrong with aircon. Mine is out of warranty and now the air con not working! Any ideas?

No squeak but my air con has been poor since day one. Had unit checked at the workshop and no issues - just always struggles to cool in higher heat.
what year is it?? any Xtrails after 2014 are problems the earlier models are better. The squeak in the front wheels is the ball joints or sway bar bushes common problem with the later model Xtrails same as the air conditioner another common problem with later model xtrails Nissan knows about it but says there is not an issue.
common problem with the compressor in the later model xtrails

Hi i have a 2016 nissan hybrid xtrail model
The AC breeze keeps blowing soft an cold but not as strong as it should be when i take it off for 15 min it comes normal an cold what is the cause?
1 answer
(xtrail t32) I had same problem, took it to nissan service station, they only cleaned and bla bla bla... then I took the liberty to check the refrigerant by pressure (not by weight as they recommended). turned out, need more gas. I filled it up to the minimum requirement to be cautious. it's been 10 months now and the aircon still good.

why is my 2006 petrol nissan x trail surging and losing power and engine light flickers on?
Then it goes away and drives good
But then it does it again
Car doesn't stall just no power
Any help would be much appreciated

I am not a mechanic but if you google the XTrail forum there is plenty of info there to read about this and other issues.
if the engine light is coming on it needs a tune up and new filters go and get it serviced
when Then engine flickers it is telling you there is something wrong. Dirty filters dirty /worn spark plugs, coils go & get a service

Hi, the ac in my Nissan xtrail std 2004 blows lightly at full fan setting.. Im sure it should blow further into the car as entire car doesnt cool. The ac motor is running a fast speed and there is no filter to block airflow currently (dont know who didnt put in new filter). Im wondering if evaporator filter is clogged and is causing low air flow from that point onwards. But I dont know where to locate the filter to check. Ive googled it and it looks like you have to remove a lot of other parts to get too it? Any advice would be appreciated. Kel

wheel bearings or shocks
I've had similar problems.. front shocks seem to squeak everytime I drive over a speed hump at low speed. Probably there at higher speeds but cant hear it. Been to the dealership many times b4 it ran out of warranty still not fixed, and now the aircon isn't working. For such a lovely well equipped car its disappointing!!!
me same problem with my xtrail t32.... sigh....

Does the Nissan X-Trail 2013 have a mother board?
We had the air bag light come on and had it fixed by the Nissan dealership. Whilst we were at the dealership they said that we additionally had a callback on the air compressor, so we decided to have it replaced, to which they said it needed new brakes and drums as well. So, we had those serviced too by the Nissan dealership. However, now the anti-skid light frequently flashes and solidly remains light-up constantly. Henceforth, we had taken it back and they tried to correct the problem but have thus far failed, to which Nissan states that they have never encountered this problem before. Interestingly, they have demonstrated how to switch off the anti-skid bakes manually, and since the service we also have no radio display or radio channels. Furthermore, they now tell us that they have no codes coming up on there diagnostic system to fix said problems. So, can anyone tell us if they've had this problem and how they've fixed it?
Regards, AB.

Your only getting the problem because Nissan has no idea what they are doing they "fix" 1 thing & fu*k another then "fix" that problem and so on Knowing Nissan they have probably deactivated the anti skid & . its showing a solid light because Its NOT working. If the system is deactivated it WONT show up on their diagnostic system. If they changed the brakes & drums that more than likely has something to do with it. & they probably also stuffed around with wiring when they were "fixing" the air bag the apprentices do the work & they are not supervised. Its not a common problem with Xtrails the problem is caused by Nissan themselves. By the way they shouldnt need a code to fix it. Have you checked all the fuses & relays?
typical Nissan They havent got a clue nissans are good cars If you dont let nissan service them Its nissan who creates the problems in the 1st place. they dont know what they did to create the problem & cant fix it.

I have a 2016 Xtrail (May) and the air conditioning has failed, with leaks on the pipes, condenser and behind the engine. My car has been serviced from new by the dealer, but is now 6 months out of warranty. Other xtrails have 5 year warranty, and I'm sure they have the same aircon. Anyone else have a similar issue, and what can I do about it? My dealer is charging a 'diagnosis' fee just to look.

Write a letter or complaint direct to the dealer principle and cc in the sales manager, explain your situation. Im sure theyll come to a reasonable outcome considering.
Thank you for your suggestion. I'm meeting with them next week. I'd like to know if this was an isolated incident or a known problem, before this. Having had Nissans for nearly 20 years, I am forever hopeful.
My company purchased a new 2.5L petrol auto Xtrail in 2012. The AC was hopeless from new and I complained at first service, but was told it was normal. The AC stopped blowing cold air after 3 years, so we only use the vehicle in winter months now. Fast forward to today, (2019) and I've just been informed the cause is a blocked pipe (manufacturing fault) and $3000 to fix. It's out of warranty and Nissan Australia Support are rejecting to fix under warranty. I hate being dudded. My company operates with many vehicles, no more Nissans from hereon!
I have a 2015 X-Trail TL diesel, less than 100,000km and fully serviced. The turbo has developed a high pitched whistle when accelerating even at very low speeds, so Ive stopped using it now. Nissan have said they do not know what the issue is, though may be turbo and I should consider getting a new car. Has anyone else had this issue?

I had the same problem with 2016 xtrail turned out to be a vacuum leak in the compressor Nissan didnt have a clue i took it to the local mechanic & he picked it up within 5 mins. & fixed it within an hour.
Thank you Ill look into it. Nissan have estimated $2k in diagnosis fees and $8-10k in repairs if it is the turbo.

My nissan xtrail 2006 had a static rpm and it reaches 1600. Had applied the relearn procedure, it works. the rpm is now 800 but occasionally becomes static, down to 200 and in some occasion the engine dies. I have the throttle cleaned and again applied the relearn. Still, the same problem is experienced. When the the car is in park and neutral position, the rpm is 800; when it's in drive and reverse position, the rpm is 600, and occasionally went down to 200rpm and in some instance the engine shuts off. What diagnostic procedure should I perform...Need your help!!!! NOEL
