Not as good as it seems
It is a really good phone, runs very smoothly, tons of memory and huge screen. But pretty much impossible to switch from apple. I don't receive most of my messages, I can't transfer any files onto it, and it has my laptop's (Macbook Air) incognito mode in its search history. Also the camera is absolutely terrible even though its the only feature this phone seems to have. Its also pretty hard to adjust from Apple because it has no home button, so turning it on takes a while because the fingerprint doesn't always work and neither does double tapp...Read more
ing, and if the little home button panel disappears it doesn't always come back. If you've previously had an Oppo phone or this is your first phone, its really great and cheap but DON'T get this phone if you're switching from Apple.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Brilliant phone!!
Highly recommend this phone. All screen and it's huge! Features comparable with a much more expensive phone. Don't think you could ever want more out of a phone unless you needed it to be waterproof and have NFC which I don't. Would never consider a more expensive phone again when everything you need is in this package.

Best phone I've owned!!
I absolutely love love love this phone!!!! So easy to use, has Such a great camera and large screen. Has so much memory on the actual phone and can use a micro sd card in it also to add more. I have so many games and apps on it, plus over 1000 photos. My old S7 couldn't store this much and had no sd port, so glad I upgraded!

The best decision of my life!
i was a bit sceptical when switching from IPhone to Oppo considering i have been using IPhones my whole life. However, a friend recommended me to this Oppo A73 phone and said that it does great deal of wonders, operates like an iPhone for half the price. So after thinking about it, i went to buy it from JB Hi Fi and was tremendously pleased that it was so easy to set up and use. the functions and system are great and honestly its like an IPhone but much cheaper. The camera quality and battery life are two important things for me and this phone did not disappoint. i was happy with my purchase and from now on i have been purchasing Oppo phones for my family and kids.

Fantastic phone for the price
Upgrading from my ZTE Axon 7 mini which is running well but needed bigger screen. The Oppo fitted the bill in size quality and specs. The display is well lit. Easy to change themes and play around. The setup was easy but couldn't download the Clone tool on the ZTE. But Google added all my contacts. Oppo directed me to download the latest Color OS, done in a flash. Also just a click to Register too. All too simple to set up.
Apps were easy to reinstall. Apps run really smoothly, its fast too. The screen isnt bad out in daylight either, better ...Read more

Value for money. Great mobile phone.
This mobile set is a great value for money. The face-unlock and fingerprint unlock is very quick. Performance wise no issues as all apps run smoothly. It also comes with silicone cover making it more durable.
Charging takes little longer but lasts longer as well compared to my Samsung galaxy S6.

Okay for a budget phone
Camera quality is quite poor except when outside on a decently lit day, colours are not accurate (red lipstick turns brown etc) and not sure if the camera has a beauty feature I can't turn off that blurs the quality or it's just that poor, either way still annoying. Forget about night photos. But anyway it's an okay camera, just not as good if you want accuracy, my iPhone 5 camera I bought around 2014 was better than this even though the MP on this is much higher.
Does basic calling and texting functions alright. Keyboard glitches sometime...Read more
s though, and audio on calling etc is the worst I've seen on a phone, kind of sounds like someone is in an enclosed small room when you hear them, and people always have severe trouble hearing me when they're on speaker (This didn't happen with my previous phones). I love dark brightness as it let's me use my phone in the dark comfortably. But conversely, it's brightness range on the other end of the scale is so poor I usually can't see my phone when outdoors in the sun, in the shade it's still hard to see. Phone design is light, thin and rose gold backing is gorgeous!looks and feels expensive for a cheap phone I got for under $300Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Sad decline in quality from my last OPPO (OPPO F1)
Had an OPPO previously and its only gone because of my own error. Had it for years, I'd accidentally stepped on it, left it on the car roof and drove off and on the rare occasion, thrown it at a wall. None of this had altered its operation in any way, or even cracked the screen which was still fitted with the original screen protector from purchase, which came with the phone, it wasn't a separate purchase. Needless to say, the choice for a replacement was easy.
Unfortunately, the A73 is junk. They have gone way overboard with battery saving ...Read more
to compensate for the battery that is not fit for purpose and is way under rated for the features they offer on the phone, if you actually want to use them that is. It keeps closing my background apps including messaging platforms in the background which results in my messages not coming through until I physically open the app manually. Mobile data and also WiFi is flakey and often will transmit nothing and require restarting of the phone to re-establish connection. Unsure what, but it must be closing some sort of network service that doesn't re-open when its actually needed. All of this would be fine if you could actually disable the bloatware they installed and stop it, I was ready to accept the lower battery life, but this is impossible. I was even willing to void my warranty and install aftermarket software to regain control of the phones options, considering my confidence in OPPO that I would never need the warranty anyway, but they have impeccable security and I can find no way around it to actually get rid of the factory OS which is literally it's own worst enemy. They are stopping people from fixing their mistake. Will be attempting a return on this, I have given it every chance I possibly could, but I guess its back to the fragile Samsungs again.... Disappointing.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Very Satisfied
The phone is easy to use and camera quality is great. Compared to the iPhone I had earlier the OPPO A73 is very good value for money even though the iPhone camera was superior. Having used the phone for over a month now I have no complaints so far. It also came with a phone and screen protector which is a bonus. The screen brightness and battery charge are also good.

Parents beware; Impossible to use parenteral controls
Bought this phone for my teenage daughter. She loves it but I have spent months trying to get any of the many parental control apps to work on it. Basically any parental control sets off a system warning that puts an annoying yellow bar on the top of the screen, and a systems iu message pops up. When you click on this message it turns of the parental control and you can't turn these messages off. Even if she manages not to touch the message and turn the parental control off, which is hard, - if she turns the phone off then when she restarts it the app is not working any more. After multiple emails Oppo have told me that nothing can be done to override this - totally frustrating.

Great android phone
I have been using my Oppo A73 for the past 8 months and I am quite satisfied. It has a nice big screen, not too heavy for my pocket and offers features that is not too complicated to use. It also take great photos including self portraits. I originally bought one intended for my partner but ended up buying another one for myself.

Great phone
While it's not perfect, this is a great phone for a great price. Bought it specifically for the dual sim function. Been using it for 6 months now, and very happy with it.
Battery life is decent. Camera is fine, but I don't use it much, so not a major concern for me.

Really pleased
Purchased mobile phone and really pleased with its operation. I am 65+ and find that I can use with ease. I have been able to download my music and listen whilst fishing. I have been able to work around with ease in such things as my own footy tune as a ring tone. Everything works that should work.

Poor value relative to the competition.
The Oppo A73 is presented as a kind of 'better value alternative' to some of its higher end competition. The phone functions satisfactorily well for the vast majority of the time but cant efficiently handle a large number of apps open at the same time. It also has a glitch problem where it randomly freaks out and closes whatever app im in. This occurs sporadically but can be frustrating. Oppo service is remarkably terrible. Best of luck if you wish to replace the screen. This will be the last Oppo I buy, and I wouldnt recommend it as a value phone to anyone. A better value phone for a similar price would be the samsung galaxy J 5. You can pick one up for $299.

Questions & Answers
Happy customerasked
Why, when I make calls does my voice break up and sound almost like static or they can't hear me at all. I can hear them perfectly and so far there are no bugs or problems other than that. Phone is almost 2 years old and other than this has been a terrific phone.

How to get the screen to change white from grey..

It's worth checking that the power saving mode (under Settings - battery) is switched off. This feature overrides brightness settings.
