Excellent investment
I bought two unit of 2.5KW at the end of June 17. Panasonic given a cash back so it was a good deal. Installed the air cond and both working excellent in cooling and heating. Quiet, power saving and easy to use. I will buy more for other rooms if deal happens.

An excellent unit. Quiet and efficient.
We bought our unit based on customer reviews and previous experience with this brand.
Cooling and heating cycles are brilliant and the unit is extremely quiet. Best of all it is extremely economical to run in both cold and hot modes, thanks to the new R32 gas used in the unit.
The remote offers a lot of options including both quiet and powerful modes, plus the usual options. There is even a set-and-forget option so the AC does all the work for you.
Back to back installation was fairly straight forward.
We were so impressed with our first unit that we bought a second one a week later for our bedroom.

Fantastic air con!!!
The unit is great in winter, heats my house up really well & quickly. Summer does struggle a little once temp is above 30 degrees - as to be expected.
If the unit is turned down to 22/24 it works fine, but will struggle any lower in summer scrotch's.
Not overly loud, unless it is working hard to cool the house down.
Very happy. Would purchase another one.
Installation was smooth & easy! quick job was done.
The unit/remote is very easy to use & i love the econavi function, when noone is in the room.

Perfect for small room.
We bought this unit from the good guys with $100 back from Panasonic and it's perfect.
Small, quiet and great to have a consistent temp for summer and winter, especially when our son keeps getting out of his sleeping bag!
Easy to use and the guys who installed it did it so fast..

Not as good as my PKR model
After having a Panasonic E24 PKR installed in my lounge and using it for a year in basically set and forget mode, I decided on a smaller model for the bedroom, thinking it would be similar in its performance but this RKR model is a completely different beast.
In QLD we only use aircon for cooling, and this new model does the job of cooling down the bedroom very efficiently, as does its bigger brother in the lounge/dining, but there the similarities end.
The new RKR doesnt seem to use its people sensor in a logical way, nor do the various mod...Read more

Great unit!
The best air conditioner I've purchased! The cooling fuction works amazingly well. It gets to set temperature fast. It's extremely quiet and I like the added features such as motion detection to detect activity in the room which then scales the power of the fan accordingly. The heating function works just as well. Highly recommended!

good aircon
i bought this air conditioning unit when it was on sale at the good guys and i am happy with it. i use it in summer as well as in winter. it does not take long to cool or warm the room. the econavi system is so good as it will detect the movement in the room and work accordingly. the aircon is a bit noise when you turn it on but it will be quite after reaching the set temperate.

Love this unit!
Easy to use and very quiet. We bought it last winter to use in our living room and it runs very well. Installation is simple and doesn't take very long to do. We also use it for the summer in WA where temp can get up to 47 and the unit cools down the living room very fast. Doesn't notice much increase in our electricity bill which is good. Overall happy with the performance, will buy again next time.

Great in Summer, noisy in Winter
This unit is quiet as a mouse in summer. Have now used it in silent mode in heating and the indoor unit makes a loud ticking noise as it cycles. Basically you can hear the unit expanding and contracting to a point where I turn it off to get some sleep.

Powerful and quiet
This A/C is far superior to the A/c it replaced. I feel the heat and like a cold sleep environment so I was pleasantly surprised that at it's lowest setting it was too cool for me!

Best purchase for this year
Bought this from harvey norman after christmas and it was installed before new years, I was 6 months pregnant and I would not have survived the summer without it. My bedroom did not have heating or cooling so we decided to go for this split unit to make the winter more confortable also with the new baby, my bedroom is around 24sq m so we were right at the top of the suggested squer mt for the small unit but it works a treat, cools down the room in just a few minutes and keeps cool after you switch it off, it is quiet and did not notice a big difference in the electricity bill, will install another unit in the living room next year. I don.t know how I could have lived without it :)

This product mades summer sweltering a thing of the past
This air conditioner makes lying awake at night sweltering through summer and freezing in winter a thing of the past. It's whisper quiet operation won't keep even the lightest sleeper awake either.
The remote control handset is delightfully easy to use and offers auto turn on and off functions.
Installation was simple and quick with minimal mess. Who could want more! I would recommend this air conditioner to everyone.

No backup Service on new unit
We had this unit installed in early December and from the first time we used it found it had a fault in that at certain points it was VERY NOISY.
Reported this to the retail store that we purchased it from. We are now well into February and problem has not been fixed and we have found Panosonic very difficult to deal with.
This was a new unit that obviously has a fault. My husband has to sleep with a pillow over his head to block out the noise.
Will be very hesitant to buy anything from Panosonic again and am at a point that will go to consumer affairs to help sort out.
This is a NEW unit !!!

Terrible air conditioners
Never worked properly. Made to pay for repairs despite warranty period. Would never buy another product from this bad company ever again. Staff are rude on the phone, difficult to get through to anyone in Australia, they direct all calls to the Phillipines. Had to wait 4 weeks for repairs which is unacceptable in a first world country

A mixed bag - there's always a couple that you don't fancy
I had the preceding model in my son's room and was quite impressed so decided to get the new model when it came out for my room. No problems so far - beautiful and cool. Have yet to use the heat cycle - however I have faith based on the earlier version. It's super quiet. Only a "couple" of oddities - the auto function seems to have burst of warm air so I just change it to the cool mode instead. My sister bought hers at the same time and said the same thing. Maybe we need to read the instruction booklet a bit more. Also the little blue li...Read more
ght (which I think is the air purifier) glows a bit too much as I do like a very dark bedroom that can be annoying. However all round I think value for money and the warranty service is excellent as my son's had a fault - Service person came out same week fixed no problems since. So a thumbs up except for those "couple" of oddities I don't fancy.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Quite & Strong
I have installed the Panasonic air con rev cycle on my bedroom. It's been about 2 months. I have used both heating and cooling. Cooling is excellent. It instantly blows and cools my room. It is also very quite. So it does not distract at all while sleeping. It has a timer to preset for your use as well. Heating is also great as equally as cooling system. My room is medium size, and 2.5kw is more than enough. It is also very easy to control. All functions are very user friendly. The best option can be quite/powerful mode. Under powerfu...Read more
l mode, it boosts the cooling/heating instantly. I use quite mode often. It just gives you right amount of blows like breeze, and it is very quite. I like it very much so far, and it is strongly recommended.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

No problems for my medium sized bedroom
After start up with the nano system engaged the system works well and rapidly cools the desired area. Louvres, fan speed easy to control from the remote and is quiet.
Bought through the Good Guys Pakenham but still waiting for the rebate which is a pain to apply for as it seems nicely obscured in both the Panasonic and Good Guys sites. The installation via Concierge was an unexpected surprise - quick, efficient, great communications. The whole deal was ~ $1400 (-$100 with rebate ). A smooth trouble free process from start to finish.

ber 25th 2017 Update: Bullet proof The usual National Panasonic quality. Does not miss a beat in either cooling/heat mode. A little slow to get into the heat cycle though. Able to sleep without a problem. Control functions on remote a breeze and almost idiot proof. Filters easy to clean. The small indicator lights tend to be a bit too bright at night.Similar opinion? Energy efficient but quite noisy in heat mode
I purchased 3 of these around 8 months ago, mainly the purpose was to provide energy efficient room heating in 3 of our bedrooms. On special at Good Guys, with a $100 rebate they came in at around $750 each. Installation was just under $3k however as I wanted 2 on wall brackets and 1 was on the deck. Heating mode is good, although they obviously take a fair time to get the room at temperature you want. Due to the excellent 6* efficiency the answer here is to keep them on 24/7. Unfortunately the heat mode is quite noisy, especially if you live s...Read more
omewhere which gets real cold (I live in Canberra region) as the defrost cycle will come on and makes a strange sound like water and gas gushing all of a sudden. In addition the units do vibrate quite badly when in heat mode as well. That being said I'm not unhappy with the units but I am surprised how noisy they are in heat mode. 2 of our units are mounted on the outside of our 1960's weatherboard home (Oregon timber frame) and they do vibrate at points in the cycle although not too badly. I did have to refill a few small cracks in plaster wall from the vibrations, although these were pretty minor. I'm happy I mounted those two on the walls and not on the ground outside the house though as they are protected from the elements better. Fan mode is excellent, very powerful when needed. Its now the summer and the cooling is very good and pretty quiet. I haven't noticed any noises really. The main plus for these units has to be the energy efficiency which is 6* for heat mode and 5.5* for cooling. One thing to note is that the standby power usage is pretty high so if your going away or not going to be using the units for a while have them on isolation switches and turn them offSimilar opinion? Rumbling Train
Purchased 4 of these Units and suggest that if you are going to place them onto a wall with brackets it could be a big mistake. All of have a rumbling noise that can be heard through the wall. My neighbours know when any of the Units are on. On occasions this can be heard two to three rooms away. If you have a window slightly ajar in one room and the unit for another room is running you can forget about sleeping. To balance this review I am working with Hirotec to resolve this. The little bit of research I've done on this newer model suggest th...Read more
at there are a number of issues. In other respects the Units work as I'd expect. Its been a few months now and had two fans motors changed and one head Unit which did not resolve the noisy cracking these Units make which I believe is a result of the specific gas they use in the current model. Do not under estimate what people are saying about this issue as it will drive you mad and stop you sleeping if its in a bedroom. They will even crack away up to an or or more after turning off. Best to avoid any Units that use this. My installers advice was some other manufacturers used this gas and went away from it because of issues.5 comments

in heat mode. Its on and off all day when in heat mode. We have another Unit in our bedroom that occasionally makes a clicking/cracking noise but its only moderate. However occasionally after about an hour or so it has made a VERY loud cracking noise which woke us up. I've been a Panasonic buyer for many years and always happy. I would have to say that at the moment it would be wise to avoid this model and perhaps the brand.I escalated my complaint only to be told the cracking noise is a normal thing that occurs. Strongly disagreed and the person on the phone offered me a full refund through the Good Guys. Twenty minutes... Read more
later the indian giver rang back and reneged on the offer. For 13 months they have done considerable trips put in a new head unit then rebuilt the head Unit with a new chassis. If the cracking is normal why did they go to the trouble of dealing with this for 13 months. Poor performance by Panasonic.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

want to know the wall unit where do the tubes go, up through the ceiling or along the wall?, trying to find pictures on net nothing for me to see how this looks in the room. as Im having this unit installed this week in the bedroom

Hi coolme,
My unit is also installed in the bedroom with the tubes going straight through the plasterboard through to the brick wall to the outdoor unit. It looks very clean and no tubes or wires can be seen in the bedroom. Outdoor unit is wall mounted. Hope this helps
go through the wall is cheaper,
it will be more expensive to go through the celing, as water need a pump to drain
