Doug F.asked
Hi team, good so far but appears noisy with apparently fewer moving parts than the turntable style. So what is the source of the noise? Just curious!
1 answer
Panasonic Australia C.Panasonic
Hi Doug, sorry difficult question, could be the fan, the unit running or any other noise.

My NN-SF564W doesn't always start. Once started it works just fine, but getting it to go is tricky. Put in the time, press start, nothing. Put in the time, press start, nothing. Suddenly it says COOLING on the display. I press reset, then the time, start, nothing. Do variations on this theme and presto! It goes. Any help?

Hi, bought the Panasonic NN-SF564W microwave as a factory second early last year and hadn't opened it until today. Can't seem to get anything working on it and realize that whatever warranty I had has long since expired. Would you suggest that I get it seen by a technician so find out what is wrong? Thanks.

Robboasked
Hello,
I bought a NN-SF564WQPQ microwave today. A couple of reviews I've read mention that the unit catches fire while not in use. This is a significant concern. Is this a known problem? Has anything been done to test these claims?
Regards, Robbo

Panasonic Australia C.Panasonic
Hi Robbo, definitely nothing to be concerned about. If someone contacts us in relation to an issue like this it would be investigated thoroughly. Some points to ensure you follow are regularly cleaning the internal cavity of the unit and ensuring if the unit is in a cabinet, that the surrounds are as per the user manual to ensure the unit has adequate ventilation.

I have just purchased the NN-SF564W model. So far no real problems except for the display window! I can only see whats happening in the display window at night, in daylight I can't see anything! I've read the user manual, my hubby has read the user manual but sadly nowhere can we find any info to brighten up the display. I'm hoping there is some handy advice out.

The display window on mine is nice and bright, even with the sun shining through the kitchen window. I would say there is something wrong with your light thingy. Maybe you should contact Panasonic or where you purchased it? I have had mine now for 4 months and it is still working like a charm. I am very happy with this microwave oven.
I just purchased mine about an hour ago, plugged it in and same as you, can barely see the display, did you have any luck with yours Janie?
Same here my display light is so dull & the light inside isn’t very bright.
Cooks well I used it for the first time tonight, but not keen on the dull display light on the outside.
Panasonic NN SF564W
They are supposed to be 5 star top rated
It also has steam come out of it while cooking never have had this before on any microwave I’ve owned in over 20+ years

does this model comes with the operational/user manual?
1 answer
Yes, mine did, but it's a very simple and intuitive control panel, so the manual is not really necessary.
Hope that helps.

My current SF564W 4month old microwave's door will not release now properly, it was replaced by the retailer after 3month use because the door would not latch - so would not operate. Is this a fault with this model or have I been unfortunate to have 2 LEMONS! Please advise me before I have to return it again...

Hi Kay. We had no issues with the door latch. Our problem was with getting the food to cook evenly. We got sick of it and just went down to Big W and bought a $90 Contempo microwave from them. It works perfectly. Appliances Online have been excellent and are taking the Panasonic back and giving us a refund.
Hi Kay, We have had no issues with the door except it was very hard to close but we sprayed the latch with some silicone and now closes quietly. I agree with Paul it does not cook as evenly as the turntable models, apart from that it is OK . I very much doubt that I would buy a flatbed microwave again.
