Sleek unit. Should entail higher performance. I seem to struggle with this iron. Good style, safety and quick steam production. However, I have had other cheapo irons that worked better. Update: thanks to this site, it seems we should have been decalcifying the iron. I will do this for hopefully better performance.
Purchased in March 2021 at Harvey Norman for $70.00.

Steam and heat of iron packed it in after 2.5 years
I thought this was a good iron until the heat / steam of the iron deteriated suddenly after 2.5 years. Tried decalcifying with no success. Looks like I will now have to ring customer service or take it back to big W! From the look of other reviews looks like I am not the only one.

Started out fabulous
Bought this iron on recommendation from the salesperson "buy Phillips they go forever". Well. No. I bought mine AUGUST 2012 so it's almost 3 years old. In the beginning I thought a little heavy but it worked really well so a big fan. However it now spits water from holes underneath which is more of a nuisance but every now and again the water is dirty. I'm regularly cleaning as per instructions thinking this would prevent my white sheets and husbands shirts from the dirty puddles. And on top of that it now shorts out our power board. This issue...Read more
I've noticed has happened in another review. The cord length for me is perfect and the water refill is fine, I have no issue with that. Because of the electricity issue I'm now going to have to buy another iron and will look at another brand 2-3years is not long enough.1 comment

Power Tripper
Have had this iron for 2 years and found it to be good until it has now started tripping off the power. Tried it on different power points and seems to work for a while, then the same problem occurs, which is quite annoying. Will have to replace it unfortunately.

Back to Philips
An iron that irons, with ease! :)
What can I say about this iron, its brilliant! We initially had a Philips iron of a similar model (6 years ago) and replaced it with various Sunbeam/s and Kambrook/s and now have gone back to the Philips, we should have not steered away to try the "other" models.
With the correct settings (variable steam settings) and iron board cover (using a Heat Reflective Metallic Finish padded cover), found you can get away with ironing on side for pants and sleeves.

Rubbish, intermittently heats up if it wants to? Would waste your money
We purchased this iron on sale at Target for about $90, it lasted 7 months before decided it will heat up only when it decides to if at all, and on occasions the handle heats up not the hot plate. It also spits water on clothes.
In a rush to dash out a buy a replacement I went looking at the a Brevile factory seconds shop, and noticed they were selling refurbished ones of this model for $79, I didn't buy one as I am not being caught out twice. But these irons are obviously defective seeing as how they have refurbished a pallet load of returned ones.
Do not waste your money
It looks good.
[censored word removed], doesn't work and expensive
