Hi Guys, my Avenger 25 (LPG) ignites and heats even when he set temp is LOWER than the room temperature. For example, set temp = 16 degrees and room temp = 19 degrees. When I turn the heater on, it ignites and blows out hot air. Is this correct and is there a simple explanation and solution? Many thanks
Richard

It has two heat levels, Lo and Hi. Set at 16 with room at 19 it will be on Lo.
Not sure, but when it is first turned on it seems to start up on Hi for a couple of minutes before cutting back to Lo.

Thanks for the question RichardN, it will depend on the model of Avenger 25 heater you have and only the Avenger 25 plus is thermostatically controlled and will cut out when reaching temperature. If this is the model you have, a service call may be required.

My guess would be some form of child lock is enabled, check the manual on how to operate that feature.
Yep, child lock is enabled.

Thanks for the question Hala Attia. As the previous posts have stated, it does sound like the child lock has been set. When the Child Lock is activated all controls other than the STANDBY switch will be locked. Deactivating the lock releases the controls. If the lock is activated when the appliance is in STANDBY, all functions will be locked.
To deactivate the child lock, press the up and down arrows simultaneously for 3 seconds, the indicator will no longer display.

Thanks for the question Rod. It will depend on the model of Avenger you have. The Avenger 25 does not cut out when the temperature is reached, the heater modulates down but does not turn off. The Avenger 25 Plus will shut down when the temperature is reached.
For "modulates down" read "doesn't switch off but keeps heating, ignoring the temperature you've set" - makes a bit of a mockery of the ability to set a temperature at all, doesn't it?!?

Does the minimum room volume of 62.6m3 apply when the unit is only being operated in electric mode?

Thanks for the question Pete, irrespective of the way the unit is run the heater must not be installed in a room smaller that 62.5m3 for the Avenger Plus unit.
