Great little heater
We have 3.1 metre ceilings and a large expanse of tiled floor, and this is all the heating we need in winter. It's a great product very reliable and quiet. Would definitely recommend. While we are yet to use the timer that option is available so you can time it to come home to a cosy room. It cuts off once reaches the desired temperature and is extremely economical to run

Up to the reputations
The best gas heater I bought. I have gone through the reviews from many websites as well as from this website.
It's really a good heater and warms up the room pretty quickly.
It is not very quiet heater but it size and looks are very good.
If you do not need three meter hose pipe.. than go for shorter one.

This is our 3rd Rinnai
This one we purchased to replace our older model, that still worked perfectly so gave it to my mother! I will only buy these heaters now, we also have an even older Rinnai Titan Mk II in our TV room that still works beautifully. This model is sleek and discrete and so powerful it heats our large living room, dining room and kitchen within minutes. These rooms are in one big open plan area with wooden floorboards and a lot of uncovered windows and floor to ceiling glass sliders. Our visitors often ask if we have central heating! These heaters are well worth their price and I can highly recommend a Rinnai of any model.

Heats up the room nicely
We purchased this almost a year ago for the bottom floor of our house as it is always really cold downstairs! This heats up the room really well and we feel warm and toasty. It's easy to use. Love it and will highly recommend this brand. When filter button starts flickering, all you need to do is wipe the dust away with a damp cloth and it'll be fine to use again.

Fabulous heater, room is warm in seconds!
Purchased this heater at the end of last winter and wishing we had done it sooner. It heats so quickly and the temperature setting is a must for comfort. The remote control is fabulous to switch the heater off 10 minutes or so before hauling up off the lounge for bed. Brilliant heater, love it.

Brilliant heaters
We have two of these heaters and they do a great job heating downstairs of our house. Had one for a few years and is going without problems and purchased a second for last winter. One is in silver and one in beige. Both run off the mains gas. Easy to use and fast to heat up

Great heater & exceptional heating!
Great heater with many functions. Versatile and quick to heat up larger areas. We run on economy mode & it gets the job done perfectly. It is sleek looking and efficient. This heater has been the best purchase of heating appliance for us. We struggled with electric element heaters. Rinnai is the one to get the job done.

Funny name, great heater
One of the things that sticks in my mind from when I was a wee lad was my parents had an old 1970's Rinnai gas heater in their old 1970's house, the type where you had to turn a large knob and hold a lever down simultaneously to fire it up (whilst waiting about 20 seconds).
When I went looking for a heater for my family and house, I was surprised to see Rinnai still made them, but I knew straight away they'd be good pieces of gear. Some things don't change.
We bought the Rinnai "Avenger 25" which is a strange name for an appliance such as...Read more
a heater, but on first appearance looked like a quality unit with useful features and we weren't disappointed once we put it to use. It's fan forced, which is great if you're heating a large space, thermostatically controlled so it will shut down once the room reaches your pre-set temperature (just the fan I think?) and the heater has a built in tilt sensor so if you're a clumsy bastard like me and inclined to knock things over, it will shut off if it tips. The control panel also has a lock out feature as well if you have kiddywinks that like to push buttons... If I had to make a criticism, if only for the sake of making a criticism, it would be the appearance of the unit. It looks pretty...utilitarian. I'm sure appearance-wise it would fit right it at the Soviet tank corps, but as a household appliance it looks a little naff. But it's still not enough of a reason to not buy one, or at the very least, consider it when shopping for a heater. We've absolutely thrashed ours, but give it a kick in the guts and it still fires up as it did the very first day.1 comment

Great whilst working very Poor Rinnai Customer Service Warranty
We bought this heater just on five years ago and was great heater, it did a great job warming us up until this year. I had the heater serviced every two years by a reputable gas fitter who until recently was Rinnai agent. This winter our heater failed to start with error code 11 on display, went in for service who were in touch with Rinnai and after three weeks the heater was returned....... unable to be repaired. I then contacted Rinnai for assistance only to be told to pay $175 for the first hour of inspection with another gas fitter and then a decision will be made. They did not have decency to hear me out but rather kept on talking over me by reading out their warranty policy. Now I stuck without a heater in the middle of winter.

Warmth with convenience
It is our first heater of this type. Easily keeps entire house warm and then keeping it there - just turn it on and I walk away from it. Love setting the timers so that we can come home to a home to a warm house in the evenings and having it come on in the morning to encourage you out of bed!
Only get caught out from time to time with aerosols like fly spray can make it smell of fumes. Some are worse then others, but we just turn it off for 5 min if we spray. Perhaps Rinnai could provide feedback on this? It does not smell of fumes other than this

Perfect Heater
We have a large open home and this particular heater is perfect, we find the timer program brilliant, very nice to set and get up to a nice warm home in the mornings, haven't had a chance to see what the cost of running will be as it is too early as we haven't used long enough but will soon know as June and July come.

Great Heater
Being fed up with the cost of running a ducted cooling/heating system I was looking for some way of heating my open plan living/dining/kitchen area (estimated area about 50 sqm) this winter. I had initially been thinking of a large electric panel heater, but the largest I could find would only heat a room area of around 25 sqm, and the cost of running it would also be high. I briefly thought about gas heating, but was a little worried about emissions and reading some reviews was further put off by reports of smells. In the end I bit the bullet ...Read more
and decided that this heater was probably the only thing that could heat the space (based on the marketing claims), at a reasonable running cost and with the features I was looking for (specifically a dual timer). I can report that the heater is more than capable of heating the room space and have not noticed any unpleasant smells coming from the unit. The dual timer works exactly as planned, automatically turning the unit on in the morning so that the room is warmed up for when my kids get up, and then turned off automatically when they all leave for school. The process is repeated in the evenings when the sun goes down. It was also very simple to set up, just plug in to the gas bayonet and electric socket, set the clock and the timers (which was extremely simple compared to some timers I have had to set in the past), and it is ready to start heating the room. I would recommend this to anyone needing to heat a large room space and not wanting the high running costs of a ducted heating system.1 comment

Hi,
The on button on my Rinnai 25 Heater is red and the heater cuts out after a minute. How can I fix this problem? Thank you

Thanks for the Alli, we would recommend a service call to confirm the issue with the heater. We recommend regular servicing every 2 years to ensure safety and economical use.

Our Rinnai Avenger 25 has a strong gas smell for the first 2 mins or so whenever we turn it on. Is this normal?
1 answer
G’day Katrina. Ours had a fairly strong odor the first night, less so the second and hasn’t worked since. I guess that is the point of my rant. The heater is still with the technician who doesn’t know what is wrong with it and he can’t get hold of the bloke who can approve replacement. Sorry I can’t be any more help. Good luck, you might need it. GlennC. (C stands for chilly!)
