Good so far
Disappointed to read some negative reviews as this kettle (just new) is very, very quiet and fast and love the blue light. Re reviews that say it becomes noisy, I did read that this can happen with scaling and you need to descale every now and then which I will do. Otherwise it's terrifically quiet after the noisy ones I've had and much much faster. Paid nearly $100 at The Good Guys and I wonder if some sellers sell deficient products.

Started Quiet and Got Louder - Also the switch breaks incredibly easily
When we first got it it was whisper quiet but like others have said it has become louder and louder since. In addition to this - the silver switch is incredibly fragile, within 4 months of getting it the stem had snapped on it, had to glue-gun it back on and reinforce with some extra plastic which solved it for about a year (we didn't bother with warranty as you could just tell it was the build quality for this part), but it has literally just snapped again, the black paint is also quite fragile and has started peeling following cleaning, going to look for a different "quiet" kettle!

Not soft boil
The kettle was at first soft boil and I was really impressed, but that didn’t last. About a month after purchase….it was a noisy kettle. It’s a pity as it’s a beautiful looking kettle and I like the blue light.

UPDATED - Replacement Sent - Kettle died after 7 months - no response from customer service
Kettle stopped working well under a year. Normal everyday use. Doesn't seem very robust unfortunately.
Have not heard from Russell Hobbs about how to claim on our warranty. Might have to take this up with Fair Trading.

Noisy
Great product when purchased. However after 6 months it has become very noisy and even whistles as it boils the water. Only used 4-5 times a day on average. Great looking kettle though.

Russell Hobs kettle
This kettle is not as quiet as I would have hoped also even though it boils in normal time span after the auto cut off the water doesn’t seem to be as hot as it really should be.

Great addition to kitchen
Was looking for something to match my air fryer with rose gold accents and this matches perfectly. Love that it’s glass + LED light so you can see the progress. Plus it’s very quiet. Very happy with it

Not so quiet
Looked everywhere for a quiet kettle and thought this was it. Sadly after about a month it’s as noisy as any other. Disappointed!
I don’t think there is such a thing as a quiet kettle

Brillant - super quiet
Amazing how quiet this kettle is. I can still hear a conversation while the kettle is on. I particularly love the pouring spout, it is very accurate & doesn't splash everywhere

Great Kettle, very quiet and quick boil. Very happy. It was everything it was quoted as being. We were sick and tired of having a kettle that drowned everything out.

Noisy Kettle
After reading favourable reports on this Kettle I decided to purchase it on the claims that it had Quiet Boil
features. I have had many other Kettles, cheap ones and medium priced ones and they are all quite noisy so I had expected this one to be quieter than others, sadly it is no better, it is loud so don't waste your money on it. Better off with a $15 one.

Disappointing
I agree with previous reviews regarding noise. We were so pleased initially, it was so quiet but that lasted only a month at the most. Now it is noisier than the one we replaced. Very disappointing. We took it back to the shop but they insisted it was quiet!!!

have only had this kettle for a few days and it is so quiet. Was on the hunt for a quietish kettle since ours was so loud you couldnt hear the tv and could hear it boil from upstairs. After much searching and research found this was supposed to be the quietest. Wasnt sure what to expect or believe but so far its a dream! cant believe how quiet it is - looks fancy too. lets hope it stays quiet

Super noisy!
It was quiet initially and progressively got louder over the next few months. I was offered a replacement and even this did the same thing so I decided to return it.

Questions & Answers
Hi guys, I’ve followed the manufacturers instructions and boiled and emptied the kettle 4 times when we first got it. It has and continues to have a metallic taste to the boiled water and we have had it nearly two weeks in. What can I do to get rid of it or is it best to return for a new one?
I have noticed that water is straight in the element as opposed to a smooth metal bottom inside the kettle?
The brooklyn kettle was nice and quiet to begin with but within a few months it started roaring. It is unbelievably noisy. What to do?????
I have just purchased this kettle and followed the instructions filling it up 3 times and boiling discarding the water. The inside of the Jug has a metallic smell and the water tastes horrible. What can I do about it?

Just an update. The company responsible for warranties for the kettle did contact me and after some back and forth, did send me a replacement kettle. Happy with the service. PS. Kettle has a decent warranty period too.
