Great washing machine for growing family

published

Very great washing machine for any growing family. Large enough if you are working and can do washing only weekly. No sound at all while performing washing. So much of inbuilt functions to help perform a good wash

Love this machine

published

Went from top loader to this, wish I had done it sooner. It has plenty of washing times and types to choose from. I have not used a stain remover since I purchased it. Low noise and beeps when finished. Reasonable cost to buy, I am very happy.

Purchased in September 2021 at The Good Guys for A$699.00.

Bought two machines, both lasted 3-4 years only!!

published

Probably shouldn't have replaced my first Samsung front loader when it died after only four years with another Samsung front loader! Again after three years my washing machine just stopped dead, mid cycle last Saturday. Surely these machines are meant to last longer than 3-4 years??
So painful waiting around for a service technician and then to be charged an arm and a leg for the call-out!
I think it's time to change brand, need something more durable and reliable.
I recommend that you think twice before buying this product!

Purchased in November 2021 at The Good Guys.

Yes Samsung got in contact with me. Did this contact resolve anything? The answer is no! They had absolutely no care for understanding my issue which has now been left unresolved. Just another washing machine sent to landfill - good one Samsung!!

Cleans clothes

published

Purchased this machine because our last Samsung lasted 12 years, trouble free.
This machine came with Bubble Soak and Steam features which seam to work well as the clothes are clean.
At this stage I can recommend this washing machine.
Purchased through Appliances Online, 5 STAR rating.

Purchased in February 2021 at Appliances Online for A$685.00.

Excellent product - we love it!

published

We are very happy with this machine -- great variety of wash cycles which can easily be customised, very quiet operation, 1400 spin cycle which doesn't leave clothes and linen permanently creased -- and is quite economical on the water. The excellent price also meant we could afford an upgrade from 7.5kg to 8.5kg which is good for all the washable bedding as it has a bit more room.

Don't waste your money on a Samsung washing machine

published

My Samsung Ecobubble washing machine cost £500 and has broken down after 3.5 years. As it is out of warranty Samsung are completely disinterested.
It stops mid cycle after filling with water. This seems to be a common problem as other reviews say the same thing.
The machine really didn't work any better than other, cheaper washing machines I've had in the past. I had expected more from the £500 price tag and certainly better service from Samsung. Don't waste your money on a Samsung product, they don't live up to the hype.

Just purchased, would not turn on after less than two weeks

published

Purchased this machine (actually the 8.5kg version) new on 8-12-18 and tried to use on Monday 17-12-18 (less than nine days later) and the machine would not turn on. The repairer came out and said he had two failures like this within a week and ours was the third he was aware of. The machine also has a strange, unpleasant rubbery smell that still lingers. Hopefully the replacement part lasts more than nine days.

No issues

published

I’ve had this washing machine for a couple of years now and it’s beef pretty solid! I did have 1 issue with it last year but Samsung send out one of their technicians and fixed the problem for free. The only problem I have is that the wash options are quite long, like the shortest cycle is 1.5 hours. I do wish it has a quick wash option.

Only bought the machine1 month ago and does not finish cycle. 5c message for filter blocked and nothing in it. Very disappointed, continually draining by hose. Won't even spin

Hi Sally, if the pump filter is clogged, an information code of “5C” appears on the screen. We recommend for you to clean the pump filter via the steps in the link below.

User Manual (page 43) > http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/UM/201803/20180303111357091/WW5000J_SEHC_DC68-03887A-00_EN_TH.pdf

Please also:
- Make sure the drain hose is not frozen or clogged.
- Make sure the drain hose is positioned correctly, depending
on the connection type.
- Clean the debris filter as it may be clogged.
- Make sure the drain hose is straightened all the way to the
drain system

How long should washing machines, used normally, last for before needing replacement

1 answer
RJW
RJW

Has everyone noticed the 'how long is a piece of string' type of wording produced by manufacturers and in the ACL and by the ACCC. The only remedy if toy the purchaser thinks they've a justifiable grievance is to go to the small claims tribunal - where you're subject to the whim of a lawyer sitting as a judge but no more savvy than you when it comes to assessing lifespan.
A good idea would be statutory minimums for white goods, establishing a national database wouldn't be rocket science.
