I love my phone
If you are looking for a replacement to your old phone. I would recommend purchasing this phone, at first I was hesitant if I want to purchase this as a replacement to my samsung galaxy 3. I would say I made the right choice. It's not as expensive as other phones and good quality.

Cheap phone that can do everything but poor camera
This phone is a good midrange phone that has all the features of a smart phone that you need.
GPS, NFC, good battery life, USB-C, 3GB RAM, fingerprint sensor, always-on display.
I've found it to be sleek, fast and responsive compared to my previous Nexus 5X.
The one problem is that the camera isn't very good. Not for those who like taking photos of food.
All in all, great value for the price.

Good phones
It's a decent phone for the price. Camera is only ok compared to my Iphone 7, but this is obviously not a fair comparison considering the A5 is cheaper. A little laggy if you used to top-of-the-line phones. I often accidentally press something unintended with this phone, and it's annoying because I have to undo it later

Excellent waterproof phone
This was a replacement phone for my Galaxy S5, and even though it doesnt have all the bells and whistles (i.e. no notification LED, no Infrared... so no remote control apps to change TV channels at the restaurant and "wow" your friends) it still packs a punch in terms of processing power.
The camera is marvellous, and it is waterproof so taking it into the shower to change the song playing via bluetooth is a real novelty.
Battery life wise, one quick 45min charge will give me 2.5 days at least!

Love this phone
My old phone was an S2 so this is a significant upgrade. I'm not the best with technology but find it easy to use. It has lots of cool features my old phone didn't have like photo editing features. The only issue I have is the camera seems to take blurry photos unless you hold it really still which is frustrating when trying to take photos of my baby and toddler!

Laggy and slow, Terrible sound quality.
It's a decent phone but it really does suffer from the well known Samsung lag past samsung phone all suffer with. It's frustrating how laggy it is even compared to my old LG phone it replaced that was 5 years old. Also the fingerprint scanner is hit or miss to the point I turned it off. The sound quality is also terrible both in phone call quality via normal phone to ear and also speaker phone. It's overpriced at full RRP and ok value at half price point which it now sells at.

Very happy with the phone
I owned this phone from May and I am very happy with everything. I bought it as a replacement to Samsung Galaxy S4 and I love everything about it. It has 32 GB internal space and lots of room for storage of anything and everything. I also have an SD card separately where I store photos and videos. The screen is bright and the phone feels light and sleek in my hand.

Good Value
A good value, mid-range phone. This is the first Android I've had as have had Windows previously. The OS is stable. PLenty of apps. Good back up and security features. Easy to set up. Cons- NEVER try to turn the Voice assistant in Setting on. It won't let you do anything and freezes. I had to Factory reset mine(Luckily this was before it was activated) I prefer the Windows OS, it's easier and quicker. I don't like how the apps are positioned and it's quite annoying trying to FIND the ap you're after. All in all, a good little Android phone for the price

Good Daily Driver
It's actually a pretty good phone. Using the Galaxy A5 remind me a lot of using an iPhone. To me it appears as if Samsung's trying to get iPhone users to move over to the Galaxy line. A pretty stable device, good camera, alright screen, and excellent price. Totally would recommend.

Excellent phone
I bought this phone my 13- year- old son as a first phone. We are impressed with the phone in general. It is fast and stylish. It has 32 GB of internal memory and he can have lots of apps including games. The camera also works well and picture clarity is very good.

Moisture is an issue
Great battery but I would argue that this phone is not nearly 'waterproof'. The charging port is hyper sensitive to water detection, which means anyone living anywhere humid is likely to not be able to charge their phones. It does seem that water sensitivity is needed because the USB C gets quickly corroded, preventing charging.
However, all this could have been avoided had they provided a USB cover like on other Samsungs. Dust covers bought online so far haven't helped.

Great Medium Range Smart Phone
This is a great smart phone. It's not much different from the Samsung Galaxy S6, minus a couple of things that are not that essential.
It's of course a medium range mobile, perhaps not for the people who want the latest and most upmarket phones with all the gadgets and luxuries.
But it works brilliantly, it has the best battery life of any other Samsung phones.
It's fast, the storage space is sufficient for 100's of photos and videos.
The screen and camera are second to none.
The only think that they should not have taken off it, is the i...Read more

Great
Bought this for the missus. It was her birthday
Figured if she didn't like it she would phone.
Guess what no call.
Although she did ring me in the shed to finish off the daily chores.
Damn phone things were more peaceful prior to A 5.
Such is life
Not a bad phone

One Word CRAP
On some unfortunate advise I handed in my trusty Apple 5 and went over to Android. What a mistake the A5 is. Slow and Cumbersome. Way to complex and even the camera is crap. Can't wait to join the Apple fold again. Buyers beware this phone is an absolute DUD !

Good Customer Service
Through Vodaphone the purchase was easy & quick. They also gave me a monthly discount on my plan. Transferring data from my old phone was not 100% great as i could not transfer my contacts from the device itself. Only the contacts from my SIM card came through and i had to put them in manually. Other than this the phone seems very good.

Good photos
It takes clear photos but I'm not a fan of the Samsung operating system as i think it slows things down. Good size and weight. Swipe text is a bit buggy. Could have more internal storage but the option to add an sd card is awesome. Great screen that's clear.

Great phone for the money.
I bought this for my wife to replace an ageing HTC One S.
The number of options around the $500 mark was vast and weighing up the different advantages of each was mind boggling and made the final decision hard.
The Galaxy A5 won in the end due to it's decent specs (eg. screen size/ resolution, size of in-built memory, reasonable processor speed, OLED screen, SD card expansion option, known brand that will hopefully keep updates coming.) The large battery and being waterproof made it stand out from the crowd.
