I would suggest returning back to the Samsung Store or referring to another Samsung Stores .. I have located the Highpoint SC and Melbourne Central Stores within close proximity in order to address this issue. I beleive they will be able to assist you better with this matter. It could possibly be an issue with the charging port or a simple firmware flaw within the Samsung OS

It's a type C connection at the phone end..they seem to be more robust.. did they say it was damaged at the phone or charger end ? I'd contact Samsung rather then a mobile repair shop, or the retailer.. Under a year, in normal usage...that's a warranty issue.., and if you don't get satisfaction, contact the ACCC. The A5 is a pretty robust phone designed to be tough..

I'm sorry Pat, I'm not a technician and I did not have this problem with my A5. My only problem is with it not being able to recharge it and Samsung repairer claiming it has water damage when I know it has never been wet. Have you tried searching for a Samsung user group on the internet? Sometimes another user can provide an answer.
