Great first smartphone yet underrated
At first when I was moving from prepaid to a mobile phone plan with Optus, I was given an option to either keep my standard Nokia phone or get a new phone. That was almost 3 years ago. In that time, I decided to get a new phone and opt for a Nokia Lumia but I ended up with the Samsung Omnia 7.
Throughout the years, I learnt to adapt to the different techniques on how to use the smartphone. First thing is it's really easy to use. Second, I can search the internet although I use Bing to search just by touching the magnifying glass icon to acti...Read more
vate. Third, It takes good pictures and also doubles as a video camera and recently, I gave it a try and i'm very impressed. Just remember to hold the phone horizontally and set the resolution to 720. Fourth, texting and typing is so easy and efficient like all smartphones. And finally, it has lasted me 2 years and 10 months after I acquired my smartphone so they're well built. On top of that, this smartphone, the Samsung Omnia 7 is in my opinion one of the best phones little money can buy. And being a Windows phone, it is so surprisingly easy to get by for anyone new to smartphones like myself. I find that these phones are easier and cheaper than Android phones and iPhones so to me, i'd rather have a Windows phone. Whenever you get a Windows phone, bear in mind you'll need to download Zune, an integrating program for PCs to enable the phones to sync with the computers and do many other things. I feel like rather than be an Apple fan, i'm very much becoming a Microsoft fan all over again. I will get another Windows phone when the 3 year period is up and I am looking at getting a Nokia Lumia 930. If you're not sure about getting Windows phones, give them a try and if you like any, go for it. They're good value for money and you'll be surprised.Similar opinion? This is one of the best mobile that I have so far and I will choose WP again...
I have been using this device for about 3 months and I love this device. I bought this for $200 from TeleChoice. It has very well built premium feeling housing specially with metal battery cover. 4" Super AMOLED display is spot on. It provide very good color saturation, viewing angle. But the best thing about this phone is WP7.5 experience. Even if it only has 1Ghz CPU with 512 RAM, it still run very smooth on most of operation. There are no lag. Metro UI looks really unique and innovative. It has very good mobile browser. One of the best that ...Read more
I have experienced so far. Music player is also done really nice and nit. Only cons about this device is no updates for WP8. MS is going to provide WP7.8 updates for this device but it's not WP8 updates. I will upgrade mine to WP8 device so no issue for me but if you are looking to pick this up for cheap price, just be aware. But overall, this is really fantastic mobile phone and one of the best I had so far. Premium built quality, WP7.5 experience, Super AMOLED display, Perfect size for mobile phone No WP8 updates

Stand out phone for second gen. Windows Phones
Both my wife and I have this phone, and after using it for 18 months it's not really let me down much at all. Hardware which matches the specifications of the WP OS, the phone doesn't necessarily shine forth with rays of amazing light, but it is a solid, capable little thing that has an awesome screen.
The camera is ok, it has replaced our normal household camera simply out of necessity, however if we had the spare cash we'd probably still be interested in getting a property point and shoot camera to take to events, but in daylight the camer...Read more
a produces some really great results. After the battery honeymoon period (3-5 months), it's been sticking at just over a day worth of use (texting, using apps etc) which is good for its class. I also run a number of background services (Find My Phone etc) which use up battery, so I think it does fairly well for a heavy user like me. At the time of writing, I realise there are much better options on the table (e.g. Nokia Lumia 800 and 900), AND Windows 8 has been announced with no backwards compatibility. While this isn't really an issue and I don't see why it should (this phone certainly doesn't have ANY of the hardware Windows 8 handsets will have), If required to change now I would consider going to a Nokia Lumia 900. Until then, I'm waiting for the next iteration of the OS to come out and see the bevy of handsets that come with it! As for this phone, if someone offers it to you, or you're looking to buy from someone, I'd recommend it definately as an option to consider. Screen, battery is fairly decent after 18 months of full time use, Samsung is reliable. Bulky when released compared to Galaxy S II, limited accessories available for it.Similar opinion?
