Raised garden beds
I’ve recently purchased Stratco raised garden beds which I would recommend as an excellent product. Easy to assemble, looks good and value for money. Staff at Thornton we’re very helpful.

Very poor customer service.
A number of off the shell products were ordered from this store. Due to builder's instructions some of the items no longer required. We contacted the store a day before picking up to change our order. The answer we got was that management would not allow it. Very inflexible and seemingly arrogant. Bunnings would be a much better place to shop.

A great solution for DIY installations
I was looking for a material to lay over existing concrete pavers in a Queenslander room. I initially purchased a couple of sample tiles to evaluate them and then ordered more than 100 tiles to do the job. Fantastic! Quick and easy to lay. Great underfoot. So good, that I'm extending the same finish out the door and onto an adjacent deck!

new hamptons fencing
You have to be impressed with the products at stratco. We saw the new Hamptons fencing in the catalogue and had to have it. We went in to check out the product and it was everything we hoped for. The only disappointment was to find out the post wich looked included for the price was additional. But the product was still of great value.

I wish everything was this easy
Normally when people work in a large hardware store it’s easy to get mixed up and forget to order something. But the Stratco staff always check my orders. It was like shopping with a friend who knew where to find everything. Thanks to Carmela who organised my fence panels while I was busy getting on the freeway in the opposite direction. She even got me a discounted price and redeemed my coupons for me. That’s what friends do and every dollar matters right now. Many thanks.

Service as it's supposed to be
Having had a Sales & Service delivery background with a major financial institution I'm a 'service Nazi' whenever I go shopping. Absolutely no issues with the staff at this store - the sales guy (Chris I think) was welcoming and informative. I was initially reluctant to sign up to an offered loyalty card - an immediate savings was included with my next purchase. Something the 'green shed' down the road should consider!

Used Quick screening very good quality product at a reasonable price. Easy to assemble and no missing parts so a bonus. Looks very smick, customer service was excellent, well done Chris.

Almost perfect
Visited the store, staff very helpful and obliging.
However I required 4 bags of Quick set along with the garden shed, the lady serving me had some problems with " This new system" and only put in 1 bag of cement, This one bag with the shed was delivered promptly with great communication from the driver.
Overall a good experience I should have checked the receipt at the store, otherwise excellent.
The delivery costs were quite high but it was 40 km away and the only other option was from other hardware operators whose product was inferior. Having used stratco products before I was willing to pay the premium cost

Good shed, however......!
On day 1, the designing & customising my shed was really easy & pleasurable, no problems at all. I was told it would take 3 weeks to make the shed then install on the 4th week, no problems, completely fine.
A whirlybird turned up 4 days later... nothing else. Driver was mystified.
I started to worry when, at the store, I was quoted $1600 to install the shed, but I received a quote from the installers a few days later for $2320. It appears I was to pay for 3 items twice. Despite my protests, nothing to see here, please move along!

later delivery arrived with all items bundle up very securely. Driver was a great guy & was excellent. He placed all bundles on the front lawn, no problems. However..... as noted in the builders quote, if any components are more than 10m from the build site/slab an additional fee will be forthcoming! So my son & I cut all straps & piece by piece carried, as best we could, around the back of our house & placed everything on the concrete slab. Even though the installers would’ve had to walk passed them to get to the slab. I wasn’t paying anything else! Rain hampered the install date so it was moved a few days, no problems. 3/4 through the build a bunch of items we’re found not to be included in the original delivery. Builders contacted warehouse, ‘yes here is your bundle sitting on the shelf, woopsy’. 3 days later the bundle arrives. Builders were great, albeit frustrated, again it seems.2 comments

Spot On Service
When 60 bags of concrete are loaded into your trailer while you pay, you know your onto a good thing. Cheaper then Bunnings too! Will definitely be going back! Awesome.

The best workbench and storage system
Just recently purchased a garage workbench and storage system was a little apprehensive at first because if the cost but now I’m completely satisfied.
The quality and strength of the steel is great. It’s so nice to have something which is decent and well made and it was easy to assemble.

Appalling service and a "custom" shed...yeah, right!
We enquired about a custom made garden shed and subsequently ordered and paid for one on the Saturday of the October long weekend last year. Ash was helpful at the time, advised it would only take around 2 weeks for it to be ready and delivered. As promised, hubby spoke to Allen the following morning and confirmed the size we needed as we couldn't go bigger...that was all sorted. It was 3 weeks on, hadn't heard a thing. So I rang the store first thing on a Thursday morning and spoke to Ash. She said she'd follow up and get back to me. The day came and went, no return call. The next morning i tried to call the store, no answer. After several attempts I was answered by Heather in the Sydney office. I told her what i was following up and still waiting on a call back, she offered to leave a message for the store to call me back to which I declined. I continued to try and contact the store myself with no success. After lunch I drove to the store (which was completely empty so not sure why the phone wasn't answered?!) and enquired in person and said I was still waiting on a call back. Ash served me, said she was still waiting to hear back. I asked how long will it take, she said "I don't know". Frustrated, I left. I went home and within 2 hours I received a call from Heather. She had quite a tone towards me and proceeded to tell me that the delay is our fault because my husband changed the size of the shed and it was still another 3-4 weeks away. Still frustrated and more so after her comments, I firmly set the facts straight with her that it was in fact one of her team that called us to say they couldn't do the shed in the size we ordered - not us. When i asked why this has now become our problem, she still tried to tell me again that my husband was the one who rang and changed the order. I was quite annoyed by this point and it clicked that the Heather I was speaking to was the same one that answered the phone earlier that morning! I told her I wasn't impressed, she really didn't care and the call ended. One request we did make with Ash when we ordered was if we could not have the shed delivered on a Wednesday (both at work that day) as we didn't want it left out in the front yard for various reasons. When we finally had an email from Ash, of course delivery was on a Wednesday, 4th Dec. - just over 8 weeks after we placed our initial order (quite a bit different from the 2 weeks we were told initially!). We were not game to call and try to change it, didn't want any further delays! I had to take a day off work and wait for the delivery. I must say that delivery guy was such a pleasure to deal with and placed everything exactly where we wanted it with care. We started building the shed the weekend after Christmas, got too hot of a weekend to do it so we have only just finished it today! The shed itself is ok. Many parts of the framing were warped but again, we didn't want to deal with the local store and so have just made it "work". One star is for the delivery guy, the other star is because the shed turned up. Sorry Stratco, but something that should've been a pretty straight forward transaction ended up a headache for us. And we won't be dealing with your Thornton store again.1 comment

Great service
I went in store to buy a drill, the staff were very helpful, spending the time to show me around the store and helped me choose a drill. I also purchased a hedge trimmer, spare batteries and screwdriver set. I was also pleased with the price. Definitely going back to Stratco this weekend.

Great price and service!
I tend to just go to Bunnings as it’s close. But this time I saw a Fb special on some roof ventilators. I couldn’t ignore this special and drove to Thornton to buy them plus other products. They were priced better, the service was friendly and they had 6 of the colour in stock. I drove home happy. I’ll be back!

Excellent service
For a first time DIY fence job the staff at Penrith were extremely helpful with options. Knowledge and assistance to make the sale quick and easy. The fence was made and ready for pick up before the due date.

1-Customer service very poor (arrogant attitude ). After the sale totally ignore the customer
