How do I use the Sunbeam Liquid Descaler for the EM 5000?
The manual suggests to purchase the liquid which I did, but then goes on to only explain cleaning the machine using the vinegar method. Makes no mention of how to use the descaler liquid!?



Also my machine is producing warm coffees, not hot at all like a coffee should be ... What could be the reason for this?

Hi,
I bought the machine last week just recieved today. The coffee porta filter very hard to turn in and also cannot turn the portafilter to the recommended "locked"... ...even when without any coffee in the basket. What should I do?

I had the same trouble and persevered and it loosened up after a week or so. Took a lot of strength the first few times.

Thank you for contacting Sunbeam. This should ease up with use. The handle does not turn completely to the right. It needs to be tight to ensure the pressure and extract is achieved. Kind regards Sunbeam.

Thank you for contacting Sunbeam. Most brands with a rind that is Fine to Medium. are great. No particular brand. the texture of the grind recommended is like that of castor sugar to sand grain. Kind Regards, Sunbeam

I bought this machine a week ago, the milk is way too frothy. Adjusting the froth knob makes no difference. Is this a fault? I have the receipt, but no longer have the box, so not sure what to do.

I had the same trouble and ended up returning mine without the box and I got the mini barista instead, so much happier.

U can't really change the froth texture, the dial really only changes from frothing to cleaning.

I bought this machine in march and it has stopped producing water then it will then it wont if I remove the water holder it does make the sound like it is out of water but if I turn it off then on it does what is going on I DO NOT HAVE THE RECEIPT but i have a bank statement saying on purchased it from BIG W so I wondering can I return it

I bought an EM5000 in January. Worked very well until recently. Started leaking water after dispensing the coffee and wouldn't froth. Returned it to Big W 14/5/19 and replaced it with another one. The second one would only froth when the knob was turned all the way to full on but that was ok for me. 3 days ago it started to not produce froth at all. I use the clean functions each day for both the milk dispenser and the brew head clean. Should I also take this one back to the store?

I have had the Em5000 for almost a year now and recently it has stopped frothing the milk. It still pumps a small amount of milk into cup and lots of steam, just no where near as much as it used to and it's not frothy just warm.

So sorry to hear of this . Has it been cleaned/descaled recently? If not please run the process and if you are still having issues please return to the store of purchase for a replacement EM5000

Thank you for contacting Sunbeam. So sorry to hear of this. You can try to manually extract the amount you want however it may not resolve it long term. If you have purchased this within the last 12 months and have your purchase receipt please return the EM5000 to the store of purchase for a replacement. Kind regards, Sunbeam

I have returned my EM5000 to BigW and exchanged it for a replacement. The new EM5000 is working very well producing excellent cappuccinos and long blacks. We are not latte people but will try them at some stage. Thank you for your advice.

Thank you for contacting Sunbeam. The one cup filter basket may be the handle already. If not please check the drip tray and also the water tank.. If you cannot locate it at all please call Sunbeam on 1300 881 861.

I have this problem as well, I've been using my nespresso milk frother seperately because the sunbeam one just gives me so much froth and not latte milk :( Can I return it without the box?

Hi there, I have bought the EM500 almost 2 years ago suddenly the machine is making a very loud noise or almost not noise at all when I press the button for the coffee to be poured. In addition, coffee will barely come out and it sounds like gurgling inside the machine. Tried to see if cleaning was an issue or if the water reservoir was blocked but it all seems ok. I vinegar clean the unit several times and no luck. Can someone please help?

What could be the problem since my machine doesn’t produce adequate amount of coffee that comes out from the machine? It just comes in small amount when i pressed any butt for coffee. Can someone help me what to do? Thank you

Thank you for contacting Sunbeam. So sorry to hear of this. By holding the button down you can customize the the amount of espresso poured. It can also be the coffee being tamped in to the filter basket too firmly. Hope this helps.

My EM5000 has stopped drawing up milk - this is the 2nd machine I have had with this issue - It is cleaned as per the instructions after every use . Is there anything I can check to fix this?

This product should be taken off the shelves. It’s not fit for purpose. My suggestion is take it back and get your money back. Sunbeam is a sham and a scam.

I’m considering on purchasing a Sunbeam EM5000 and would like to know if the boiler is made with stainless steel. I would like to stay away from plastic boilers as I am concerned that the harmful chemicals used to create plastic may leach into my coffee over time.

Save your money. It’s a very underwhelming product. It doesn’t do what it says it does. It’s not fit for purpose.

Thank you for contacting Sunbeam. Please check the silicon tube is definitely secured in. You may have to run the pumps through a few times before it engages. You can also try removing the water tank for as few seconds when the unit is pumping. Please call us on 1300 881 861 if you continue to experience issues.

From my experience, you will find this product is not fit for purpose. Take it back and get your money back. It’s not fit for purpose and should be taken off the shelves.
Read the reviews on here. Even the people who have had a replacement machine still have problems with it.

My em 5000does not draw the milk from the full container we have steam. I have pulled it all apart and cleaned every possible piece from the top of the milk container, put back together every which way. I still get little milk. Also done the vinegar clean Other suggestions please

My experience tells me to just take the product back and get a refund. It’s never going to produce anything but warm, watery milk on a good day.

Is there an easy way to get the metal filter out of the part that holds the ground coffee . We have to prise it loose with a knife as the fit is so tight!

Why does my coffee always taste weak. I tried a sample coffee at our local shopping centre, tasted great. Purchased the coffee but just didn't taste as good in my Cafe Barista EM5000. Quite disappointed.

At the back of the milk holder is a small plack piece that can and does come out very easy.... Without it the machine won't work because this particular piece pushes a sensor I'm guessing.... Because it's so small and comes out of the milk container I'm just curious if this small part can be brought seperate incase it does get misplaced..
